Gaara (Kazekage) vs Mei (Mizukage)

gaara almost captured and sealed up third raikage and his dad at once by forming sand from below their feet and stopping movement via the prison. mei hasnt really shown any speed feats or ability to fight in the air. and you wont be able to fight against gaara unless you have some means of stopping yourself being captured from below and then slowly crushed, ankles first.

mei doesn't have to manipulate her techs either. she can use them for defense i.e lava release to protect herself from gaara's offensive, suiton for offensive and defensive, boil release for both offense and defense

thats only a single direction offence and defence. gaara attacks from all directions, including meis feet. now maybe she can corrosively burn away SOME of the sand but not ALL of it. meanwhile gaaras constantly making more sand from underground then forming a sand tsunami. in the war arc he started out flying around and attacking the kages from above AND below using missiles and sand prison.

Sand resists amaterasu.Lava has nothing to do against sand.

The only way I see Mei shielding herself with her Lava Release is if she spits it right above her in the hope that it'll make some kind of encasing around her :y

How will the lava even reach Gaara. Gaara is a far ranged fighter. The Lava is mid ranged plus Gaara can fly now
