Gaara Hiden Confirms Gaara can use Magnet Release.

If you don't know, I've been translating the Gaara Hiden book. And I came across this:

我愛羅が父より受け継いだ、磁遁である。
It was the Magnet release that Gaara had inherited from his father.

C-could this be...?

きらきらと輝く微細な金属の盾が、水の槍を弾いていた。
A shield of sparkling metal particles repeled the spear of water.

No no I must be mistranslating this-

その対策のひとつが、これまで使うことのなかった、父の技だった。
That single measure was something he hadn’t used before until now, his father’s jutsu.

The book makes a point in earlier chapters that everyone's secret jutsu were revealed in the war. There are sentences in this paragraph that basically say this is the only secret jutsu Gaara has left that no one else knows about. He's using it against the enemy as a surprise advantage I guess.

So: ****ing confirmed. Gaara can use magnet release.

This probably isn't that important to most people, but Gaara is my fav, so this makes me VERY happy.

Wasn't this known already? I'm not too sure, but I think Gaara's Magnet Release was mentioned in the Fourth Databook.

This was confirmed in the manga when he mixed his fathers gold sand in with his own.

Although it was never stated he was using magnet release, you can connect two and two together since he was manipulating the gold sand as well.

But here is the thing, Gaara can mold up mineral/control it, so he can still considered as magnet user, just not very specific on this matter.

It's better than fanfiction though. I said confirmed because I'm super excited, but yes, the books are probably at anime level canon-ness. Maybe more, considering the anime has no integrity, at least these seem to be part of the Naruto project and have something from Kishi.

Some people probably don't think this is canon, some people might, I'm leaning to the 'omg no way is this shit canon' side. I'd like to see if these get acknowledged as canon or not though. Gaara hiden seems to make sense so far.

Yeah but not really canon, still kind of confirmed I guess in Hiden tho. Like, just wanted to share this.

wasn't garra controlling some gold sand (and regular sand is also magne style its confirmed that it's magnet style for shukaku anyway)

Er, well, that's good for you, but I wouldn't trust the novels in regards to jutsu. In the Shikamaru novel, Sai was spamming ink tigers (should have been lions; the tiger is his special technique), while Ino used Mind Transfer as if it was mind reading.

Gaara never controlled the gold sand in his fight with Gengetsu that is a misconception.
