He actually said for them to have a drink to celebrate Naruto's Hokage promotion and build more trust between the villages. It was only a panel, I don't see what's wrong.

Gaara lost his dignity. Hard to believe what an awesome character he was in part 1. Kishi turned him into a *****

Death changed his look on life.

He thought naruto was dead, so in the next time he sees naruto alive he asks him to do something he can only do after the situation. It's a way of saying "don't die"

Kill la kill: mako asking ryuko on a date before ryuko fights the big bad(ragyo)

Samurai champloo: fuu reminding mugen to help her find the sunflower samurai b4 he goes off to fight shoryuu.

Hajime no ippo: takamura and the coaches convo before his second championship fight.

I forget what it's called but it's quite a common trope.

Edit: spoiler alert?

the real translation was to share a drink.. and in japan going back in history it was one of the highest forms to form a trust and would bond them..

i dont see a problem with it
Ya it's a special rite in old japan

I pity all these dopes who think Gaara is just kissing ass. NB is a rare breed of idiocy
