Sand is unique kekkai Genkai , it cannot be made using chakra.
User uses his chakra to manipulate sand that is on the ground , sand can also be made by crushing into the ground.
Sand is strong against fire and Earth. it is completely immune to fire , even Amaterasu can go through it.
Weak against water and Lightning.
If in contact of water it turns imto mud.
Sasuke used chidori to Break through the sand.

his chakra with pre-
existing sand on the ground
and gather more sand by
breaking down the earth.
Due to this matter, Sand is
strong against fire and also
sand is strong against earth
as well. But Sand is weak
against water since the
sand turns to mud once
water make contact with it.
It makes the sand weak and
slow. It is also weak
against lightning displayed
when Sasuke's chidori-

shield of sand.
