Gaaras sand can keep kunais with a ftg mark at bay while both of team 1 gain hight.
when they reached a good hight where they can be easily attack deidara would start bombing and gaara will be the defense, while he let his sand go into the earth, creating a big sand tsunami, deidara can hide small bombs inside of sand bombs of gaara

the big summons of orochimaru will be finished with c4 and team 1 is able to fly out of the radius of c4
Deidara really is the problem here defended by gaaras strong sand, even top tier shin obis like tobirama and orochimaru can't win those circumstances.

He doesn't teleport the explosion. As the clay falls down he could jump in the air or jump off Bunta to get to the clay before it explodes. If he touches it, or his KB, he could teleport it before Deidara could explode it. At the beginning of the match a KB could shunshin in the opposite direction, or Minato's could considering Minato already ran a village's length in his fight against Kyuubi.

Minato obviously didn't run a village's length that quickly. Either he already had a FTG marking prepped in that general area where the Kyubi was, or Kishimoto decided not to show Minato running off panel since it's a waste of panel space.

I heard from Gold or Bogard that Minato did shunshin a village's length, but you may be correct. If you are, couldn't Bunta just reverse summon them to Mount Myōboku, then the duo teleport back after the explosion?
