This is extremely short, but also a good read imo. Let me know what you think.
A long time ago, I had a silly fan idea I never posted but kept to myself.
What if there was a 'Sage of 3 lands', compared to the 'Sage of 6 paths'? That way the Sage himself would have a parallel, since everybody but him seems to have one. Or maybe a rival for a better word.
Now that I think about it... I suppose that you can say that the Juubi was his parallel. Juubi is a being of natural energy, thus can only be harmed by natural energy. My theory is that the Sage didn't create ninjutsu... but he was the pure manifestation of ninjutsu in the form of a man, and left his powers in his 2 sons as we already know, and it spread and spread till becoming a shinobi world skill. Now lets break this down.
The Juubi is natural energy, as stated above. Can only be harmed by natural energy.
Sage is ninjutsu. Can only be harmed by ninjutsu.
Because they would constantly stalemate each other in a fight with their godly recovery rates, the Sage's only way of 'beating' the Juubi was to seal him.
When he was sealed in him, he officially became the Sage.
This also explains why huge chakra reserves are needed to attain Sage mode... because that nature energy stems from the Juubi, and it takes a powerful body to host it. Don't be mislead, whether it be nature chakra (senjutsu chakra), or ninjutsu chakra, they're both chakra nonetheless. So when you keep that in mind, basically they're saying you have to have a balance of both the Sage and the Juubi in order to attain Sage mode. This is why Jiraiya couldn't perfect it, he didn't have that balance. Orochimaru as well, which is why he needed to find a body for him so that he could attain it.
Naruto has it, we know he has the balance.
Hashirama has it, we damn sure know he has the balance.
Kabuto however is another story... and because Kishi insists on keeping him alive, I'm forced to believe that he plans on revealing something about him.
Thoughts?
