Hello base. Basically my theory involves something about Usopp has been hidden even from himself.

That something is the fact that his father is not Yasopp.

Yasopp left Usopp and his wife for a life with Shanks and his crew. Isn't this a little odd? Something must have happened between Yasopp and his wife for him to abandon his family.

...lets look a little closer

Yasopp and his Wife:

Usopp:

Usopp has his mothers nose, his mothers hair color, and Yasopp's build. A friend of mine noted Usopp's ridiculously curly hair. and neither of his parents had hair nearly that curly. Infact, few characters in OP do. All i can think of is Hody Jones, Nefertari Cobra (vivi's dad), brooke, and Edward Teach.

If Yasopp found out/suspected that Ussop was not infact his child... that could be reason enough to leave the them behind...

We have seen Usopp fairly fat.

And his figure in this state reminded me immediately of Blackbeard. Huge body + tiny tiny legs.

What do you think?

LMAO that kid Usopp is never going to get developed, mark my words.

But as for your topic... I don't know... I really don't think Oda would do that, it'd be really weird to have his hyped up father for the series turn out to not be his father. People would probably be disappointed.

In all of part 1 and 2, he's only had 2 legitimate moments where he manned up.

He ain't got no development.

In all of part 1 and 2, he's only had 2 legitimate moments where he manned up.

He ain't got no development.

Usopp has the most development out of every-body... he starts of as a weak regular person, but then slowly stands up for himself, as he wins his first fight against Kissu solo, and cements what his values are when he shouts to Chopper what a real man should do in Alabasta.

He realises he can't life up to his own values, and questions his own abilities as well as if he is indeed a coward, asks this out loud to Nami.

Only to have all of these fears and doubts confirmed as he eventually gets so compromised that all he has is a tiny bit of pride, and fights a no win battle against his best friend, just to maintain that little bit of pride.

He comes back and fights with all he gots to safe his friend, and even manages to overcome his stubborn pride to rejoin his crew.

Suddenly he finds himself against a opponent only he can fight against, because of her special holo abilities, and wins this battle for his friend.

He gets sepperated, and that's where he makes his final oath to Luffy, as he finally realises that there IS a need for him, and he CAN be strong, so he will do all he can to be of use to Luffy in the future.

And in Punk Hazard, he shows this faith to Luffy, as he faces the goons of the control room, stating that he will help his crew, no matter what it took. Willing to fight them if that was what he had to do to get to the controls, giving his speech that showcased all of his development through the manga.

And lately, he was faced with a group of naive young dwarves that was taken so much in by his lies that he actually hurt them without meaning to, and he felt so guilty over that that he initially left, but eventually came back, only because he couldn't stand to hear their constant plea inside of his head, and stood up for his values first stated in Alabasta, and fought his no win scenario battle to a T, beaten up, way out of his depth, he kept fighting to the very very last, until his body couldn't move any longer... and he was just lucky enough Sugar decided to feed him grape instead of just turning him into a toy at ones.
But even that wouldn't have happened if he didn't came back and stood up to his own stated values...

No Development? Aside from Luffy and Zoro, he seems to be the only one having development in plentyfull out-side of his initial introduction story!
