In case you haven't seen, Nintendo released a new trailer for their upcoming Pokemon Sun & Moon.

If you haven't seen it the trailer it can be viewed

How do you feel about Gamefreak departing from the simplicity of past generations?

As seen in the trailer we will receive what appears to be a talking Rotom as our Pokedex. In the past games (excluding anime) talking to pokemon was always something brought up by researchers but never an aspect of the game.

Is Gamefreak moving too far from the formula that made Pokemon so successful by adding too many human traits to ultimmately what are supposed to be our slaves?

Definitely moving far. Not necessarily a bad thing tho. The only issue I have with the new games is the lazy design that doesn't really feel like Pokemon at all. It goes way back from fourth generation but nowadays it's really bad. (Heck, look at Poplio and compare it to Squirtle).

Another problem I have is with "inventing" new things that are completely unnecessary and totally not Pokemon-like. Especially, the Mega Evolution which is a total Digimon rip-off. Most of the bashing is certainly fueled by nostalgia to which I say get over it people, but there are definitely problems with the newer generations that need to be fixed.

I don't really think it's too far. Like every person who grew up playing pokemon, it's hard to let go of the original way it was played. So new talking pokemon and new things are always going to make us a little upset. Of course I miss the old way but this new way is cool too. :/ idk

Idc I like mostly all the changes. I was blown away by X&Y. Now I cant wait to see whats next in the pokemon story

Both pokedex and some pokemon talk in the anime so it will make the adventure that more real.

Exactly... like I remember giving DPP crap, and the games have only gotten better. Some of the new mechanics are great. (super training and horde encounters are bae)

This seems too be a bit too odd for me, but we'll see

All this change and watch the plot still be as stale as the first loaf of bread ever made. A loaf that I am sure Pikachu wouldn't mind eating after being starved for 20 years.

The anime plot cant change because Ho-Oh used the pokemon equivalent of Infinite Tsukuyomi on Ash in the first episode...

Thats why he doesnt age :sdo:

I'm not that excited for this game that much but the anime is tearing it up lately. Ash greninja is the coolest thing to come to the series in a while. The animation has been step up so much.

I meant the game plot being the same thing as it always is with a few differences in team names and team motives. But lol at Ash getting negged by Ho-Oh

You didnt like the obviously communist team flare led by a misunderstood intellectual?

Almost reminds me of Soviet Russ...Oh... Wait...
