Even though you aren't starting the wind element, I would still like you to tell me everything that you know about it before we begin. Its strengths and weaknesses, its uses, what it represents to you, and basically anything else you feel is relevant about wind in the RP.

Understood.

Wind Release, otherwise known as 'Futon Release' is one of the five basic elemental natures in the Narutoverse. It is performed by making chakra as sharp and as thin as possible, and manipulating it into the air around you.

Futon is usually short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combines brute force and keen precision to inflict cutting and slashing damage. Futon techniques are usually performed by generating air circulation and is enhanced through this method as well. Futon-based chakra can also be channeled into weapons such as Shuriken, Kunai and swords to increase their cutting power and overall base range.

Futon is strong against the element of Raton, lightning because wind is a natural electrical insulator, but weak against fire because fire is ranged and gagged upon the amount of oxygen it is fed. This also means that Futon Release can be used in combination with Katon Release to augment and enhance the strength of the Katon style jutsu that is used.
Additionally, it can be used with Water Release to increase the latter's concussive and overall destructive power.

When using Futon Release in combat, it can come as a grand advantage if used strategically. Futon can be used to backfire Katon Release jutsus if used in the right way at the right time. It can also be used to swiftly build momentum, as well projectile the user into the air to gain an "Eagle's eye advantage".

Is there anything else that you would like to add, to help further my understanding of the element, Master Kaguya?

There is one required reading for all of my wind students. Please read it before we continue with the training.

Soliloquy on Wind

The wind element is truly unique. It is well known that the wind element is my favorite element and was the first element that I learned, that is why I went through the trouble of creating the Atmospheric Pressure element. I wanted to take the wind element to the next level. Trying to explain the ways wind can be used is almost pointless. The ways are endless, one must just be able to attune to learning how to use wind. Yes, it is very true that the wind element is mainly an offensive element but you cannot be restricted. The wind element can also defend as well as attack, you just need to keep your mind open. The versatility of wind is one of the reasons why the wind element is my favorite. Unlike earth or water, wind exists everywhere. Without it life cannot exist. Where ever you can go, you cannot go if there is no air, no wind. The pride of the wind element like you said is it's ability to cut. A master of wind must be able to sharpen their winds to extreme levels to be able to cut through anything through sharpening their own self discipline, this is how far I have taken my Atmospheric Pressure element. The winds that it possesses are so strong that is has far surpassed mere cutting, the element instantly turns whatever it touches into dust by cutting at an unimaginable speed and concentration.

The wind element has an unique relationship with other elements. Lightning an element with incredible potency, an element that can burst through fire, destroy earth, electrocute water, even though such destruction is caused by it, the wind element cancels it out. The wind element does not permit lightning through it. Lightning is an element of pure destruction, unlike the four other elements that come together to create the basis of life, lightning is the opposite. It is pure death, yet wind quells it. It is true that wind is weak against fire but is it not for the reason that fire needs wind. Without wind fire cannot exist. When used correctly the wind element is not weakened by fire, it is empowered. The user can create deadlier attacks using this combination. The water element can also be used to strengthen wind, the user can combine both water and wind to create attacks that can quell the largest of fires. Both of these examples shows the substance contained within the wind element. The wind element is the source that allows fire and water to be able to become stronger. Without wind, fire and water would remain weak. The earth element does not directly interact with the wind element, but over time wind is what shapes earth altogether. The erosion produced by wind gives shapes to many rocks and mountains, even turning earth into sand over time. The Atmospheric Pressure element turns all earth and metals into sand instantly as a testament to wind.

The wind element to me personifies one thing; change. Change is the entire concept of wind. The wind element never stays still and never stays in one place. One with the wind, is one without rest. Wind represents change because of its interaction with the environment, as you said wind can be very peaceful. As you are walking through this forest right now, you feel that gentle breeze across your face do you not. Is this gentle wind not soothing to the touch and relaxing? I would say it is. You say this because of what you have experienced. But wind can change at any time. How would it feel if you were standing in front of an F-5 tornado coming toward you paying no regard to life, destroying all in its path. Would it not be frightening? Standing there alone, unable to move due to terror as it rages toward you. Thus you must pay close heed to the wind element, though it has to power to be your friend and give you great strength in battle, when used incorrectly it will become your greatest foe. The wind will over power you and turn against you. You must have great discipline over yourself but also be flexible to necessary change if you ever want to become a true master of the Wind element, then to take it beyond.

To me, wind is the element of a warrior; you either live with wind or you die with wind. Have you ever seen me use the Hurricane Fist technique to avoid attacks like all these people are doing nowadays? No. I prefer to take things head on. Wind isn't exactly an element that suits everyone, its song is sour and its taste is bitter. Mastering wind and implementing it in battle takes commitment and dedication. Sometimes it may be easier to simply use fire or water, but who wants to take the easy way out. Only one way works for me. The way of the silent predator, the roaring lion, the ghastly paladin. The way of the wind.

Quite the interesting concept, Master Kaguya.. Now that I think about it, wind does in fact assist in the shaping of all that we see, as well the creation and the destruction of what is or once was. Mountains, molded and even sometimes moved by the simplest of breezes, to the mightiest of hurricanes. But I had a thought.. The Kekkei Genkai Mokuton, Wood Release, would that not provide a further enhancement to Futon, Wind Release?
As is factual evidence, oxygen is provided by life, and in a literal manner at that. Life being trees, plants, grass and the such. This is what produces oxygen, and wind is simply a motioned version of oxygen. This being the case, exactly how much would Mokuton assist in the enhancing of Futon? I am quite curious..

You're the first person to actually take it further. I like that. But you have one misconception that is pretty big. Wind is not the movement of oxygen. Wind is the movement of air. Air is the atmosphere. Air is not just one gas, air is a combination of several gases. In fact, the most plentiful of these gases is not oxygen but nitrogen. But one can use Mokuton probably to create a large amount of oxygen by utilizing a technique that speeds the rate of photosynthesis in Mokuton. The oxygen can be manipulated by wind. This is would possibly result in two things. The amount of oxygen in the air would make it deadly to use fire. The large amounts of oxygen would probably cause the user of fire to lose control of it be harmed by the fire themselves. It may also weaken lightning techniques because air is a bad conductor of electricity and you just released a lot of oxygen into the air. To be straight, wind actually can't directly assist Mokuton such as powering up a Mokuton technique. The two simply coexist.

Any more questions before we move onto the techniques?

This is how I will train you: I will first post the technique and the describe it in my own words, and then state a few sentences about the usefulness of the technique both offensively and defensively. I would like you to respond by by telling me:

- how you would perform the technique in battle
- how you will use the technique offensively
- how you can defend against the tech
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting

I would like a few sentences for each point or a few bullets. Whatever you prefer. I'll be going at 2 to 3 techniques per post to keep the training moving. But I may do one technique for certain techs I feel deserve them.

Fūton: Kujaku Senpūjin) - Wind Release: Peacock Whirlwind Formation
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique utilizes wind chakra into the users sword and then they release a vortex of wind that surrounds the users body and can push away materials covering the users body.

I personally really like this jutsu. The only problems I have with it that it requires a sword, and that it is only a B-rank technique. I would personally allow it to be an A-rank technique because of its usefulness. The jutsu works by releasing wind chakra out of your sword. You then cause the wind chakra release from your sword to envelop your body and begin spinning at high speeds. The wind forms a vortex around your body that can be used to push object away or create a vortex shield that can protect you from all sides. Because this technique only extends to short range, its uses are limited to either defending against attack or if used carefully to make your sword attacks stronger in close range. Because it requires no hand seals, it can be very useful in close combat. To defend against this technique (most of time it'll probably be used to defend against one of your techs, but a skilled wind user may use it to attack) just make sure to either avoid short range or to use a similar fire technique that requires no hand seals.

(Fūton: Shinkūjin) - Wind Release: Vacuum Blade
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user exhales wind-infused chakra onto a weapon in order to increase its sharpness, range and lethality. For example, the user can infuse a kunai to resemble a makeshift scimitar or infuse shuriken to increase their range and cutting power.

I also really like this technique. I feel it should also be an A-rank since the wind element really lacks versatile techs at the higher ranks unlike lightning which was a plethora of high rank techs. You can basically use this technique to turn your kunai into a sword. You kunai now infused with wind can extend itself up to mid range. The offensive uses for this technique are the same as a sword. It basically allows you to cut object all the way up to mid range, and also strengthen kunai combat in short range. This jutsu can't really be used to defend other than the same way a sword can be used to defend, possibly cut incoming projectiles or lightning techs. Basically this jutsu creates a versatile sword for you to use. How effectively you use it depends on how good you are at sword combat.

Seeing as I am one who uses a sword as one of my primary components when in battle, without being that of a Samurai, I find that this technique would benefit me greatly when in a battle ranging anywhere in degree of a simple nonchalant spar to that of a war-changing clash.
This technique, despite it's short and to the point explanation in it's description, I can already think of several scenarios of which I could benefit myself in the use of this technique, in all three of the types of offensive, defensive and it's assigned supplementary. By description the technique utilizes Futon Chakra and manipulates it into the form of a vortex of wind, of which has the power to carry and push away materials that are within the vortex's general range, of which I would assume is little over arm's length of the user, as the vortex is in fact created around the user's body.
Using this technique offensively would not be that difficult. With accurate timing the user of this technique could with ease deploy paper bombs around themselves, and with accurate timing, use the vortex to throw these paper bombs outward and toward an opponent/target at reasonable speeds, while in the process of this happening the user could also be in the process of conjuring another jutsu in order to further advance themselves in the fight.

It is rather simple to use this technique toward defensive means, I believe it is rather self-explanatory on how this technique could be used to defend ones self or an objective. The simplest of examples would be to redirect incoming physical projectiles, ranging from that to simple kunai, shuriken and the such, to that of jutsu-related earth style techniques, ideally throwing these otherwise hostile projectiles off course and preventing them from causing you and/or your objective of harm that would have been dealt otherwise.

As for a supplementary usage, the vortex I would imagine could be used to project the user against the ground, depending on where the user's sword is facing upon release of the vortex, lunging them into the air to give them the "eagle eye's advantage" over the opponent along with the use of their next move. Though this is not necessarily justified by the description and ideal usage of the technique, I find that this could be otherwise possible, as based upon the description of the technique, the wind is first utilized into their sword, and with this fact the user can direct the usage of the force the releasing of the vortex provides in a variety of different ways.

This technique does seem to provide a vast range of possibilities to further advance the user's advantage, yet it can very easily be countered, turned and used against you, an example being facing a fire user. As the vortex is generated and released so close to your person, and cannot extend any further than short range, it would be very easy for a fire user to release a fire technique against you and the vortex, causing the vortex to become a raging inferno around you, and more than likely be the end of you with a short amount of time..

Overall, this technique does indeed provide you with many potential advantages, and though it seems easy enough to turn against you, it as well is easy enough to prevent that. Simply do not give the opponent such opportunity..

Once again, seeing as I use a sword as one of my primary tools and instruments in combat, this jutsu would benefit me greatly when I face an opponent.
The simple exerting of the wind-infused chakra onto my sword would not only by description increase its sharpness, rand and "lethality", but with the potential of enough skill, the user can also mix the now wind-infused blade along with fire, the sword then at this point becoming consumed by flames and can deal the potential of increased mixed damage to the opponent. Though this idea can be used on any weapon that is also used with this jutsu, meaning I would find it quite useful to apply this idea to both my sword, kunai and shuriken.

It is simple enough to counter this technique, as it only increases the range of short to mid, so all one must do is keep their distance and see to using fast-paced projectiles against the user of this technique and they will be fine long enough for the jutsu to wear off.

All things considered, I would see that this jutsu would provide more beneficial outcomes for you, rather than not. As this jutsu to my knowledge at the moment does not really have much that can otherwise cause it to turn against your favor, it is virtually a grand technique, if you use it wisely, and of course if you favor the usage of weaponry.

The following are a few more simple wind techs. They don't get more advanced until later on.

(Fūton: Shippuu Tama) - Wind Release: Twister Shot
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user releases a stream of wind infused chakra from their mouth that takes on the shape of a twister to attack the enemy.

The user simply focuses wind chakra in his lungs then releases it out in a constant stream. The technique is very useful because it can extend all the way up to mid range and doesn't even require any hand seals. It is very useful with you are taking your opponent in close combat where you must use your hands thus do not have the time to perform hand seals. But the technique is also easy to counter because it is just a twister, the opponent can just user a fire ball that also doesn't require hand seals to over power it easily. So be careful when you use it as it can turn against you.

(Fūton: Shinkūken) - Wind Release: Shock Blade
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user swings their blade and a gust of wind is released in the arc that it was swung in. The technique is strong enough to stop projectiles that are thrown at the user.

This jutsu involves sending your chakra into a blade of some sort then as you swing the blade you release the wind so it takes the path of your swing and forms an arcing gust of wind. You can use it to push away projectiles or to enhance the cutting ability of your sword. I like this jutsu because of the wide range it can cover but I find that being only B-rank the opponent has so many A-rank fire jutsu to counter this that it becomes a risk to use this carelessly. To defend against this you can use use any A-rank fire jutsu to completely overpower it or a B-rank fire jutsu to overcome it but with the loss of some power. The jutsu is versatile in use but simple to block.

Apologies for the late reply. Thank you for waiting patiently for it, though.

Simplicity aside from both the description and overall concept of this technique, it can ultimately provide a great benefit to the user, if used correctly.
Based on the simple description I can already think of several ideal uses for this technique. Offensive use of this technique is self-explanatory, as a twister based on physical evidence can be quite destructive and do so in a swift measure of time. But clearly this is not nearly equivalent to what we experience from time to time, twisters that eradicate structures and scenery alike. But at the same time, this technique is a smaller yet more focused version of such a destructive force.

With this technique, it is focused primarily toward one direction I would imagine, and through such it can be easily countered or avoided with a sharp enough mind, but at the same time it can also be influenced to be much more difficult.. As per usual, a wind technique such as this can easily be mixed with a fire technique and increase it's deadliness drastically, but with this technique being in the form of a twister, it can be manipulated to carry the fire forward and then distribute it onto things that can catch fire, or otherwise are flammable.
Along with the twister you can also release several projectile weapons into it, such as shuriken and kunai to launch them in a volley around the field.

Now once again considering the fact that I myself use a sword as a primary use in combat, this technique comes as an addition to providing more use for my sword.
As mentioned the arc can be released in whatever shape arc the user's blade is swung in, and it is as well strong enough to backlash other physical projectiles that are thrown toward the user, providing it in a sense of defensive means. Once again, offensive is as obvious as it comes. With the arc being strong enough to brush it's way through other thrown weapons, I would imagine it would hold enough strength to knock, if not carry an opponent off his or her feet, resulting in at bear minimal throwing them off, giving you additional time to begin another attack against them.

(Fūton: Senmōfū) - Wind Release: Rotating Ferocious Wind
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user concentrates wind chakra into their sword/s and releases the chakra by slashing down infront of them to create a large gust of wind.

Another wind jutsu that does not require any hand seals but does require a sword. This is another example in which the user simply uses wind to enhance the cutting abilities and the range of sword based attack. The technique is simply in its procedure, the user will first begin by channeling their wind charka into their sword. You want to make sure the wind chakra is evenly distributed along the blade. The when you slash the blade down, you release all the wind chakra in the sword out of it to turn the wind chakra into a large gust of wind. There are two things to keep in mind with this jutsu, you need the wind chakra to be evenly on the blade so that the gust of wind is not deformed when it is released so some parts might end up being fast and others slow and the jutsu wouldn't be stable, and the other is the the gust is released along the swing of the blade so the direction in which you swing it and how you swing it will affect the end result of the gust. In order to defend against it, possibly use a fire technique that you can use to over power the gust from mid range, or use a fire technique to act as a barrier for the gust if it is a in close range. You could make this jutsu stronger by breathing fire into the gust to make it more deadly.

(Fūton: Dai Sakūgen Sebiti) - Wind Release: Great Slashing Tornado
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description:The original version of the Wind Release: Slashing Tornado technique. The user, flapping their Giant Fan, creates a minor tornado, which ensnares the opponent, damaging and cutting the opponent, leaving them crashing into the ground after the tornado subsides. This technique can be performed by ninja who do not wield the Giant fan but require to make a small 4 sequence of hand seals to perform the technique.

I won't explain the fan parts as I am not fit to teach that as I am not a fan user. The technique can still be used without a fan but it requires 4 hand seals. The user will release their wind chakra out of their body and will channel it into the air and cause the wind to spin. The user will turn their wind chakra into a tornado that captures the opponents in its rotations and damages the opponent. The tornado finally slams the opponent into the ground. Easiest way to defend is to destroy the tornado before it captures you as it isn't create directly around you, but is meant to ensnare you as it heads toward you. You can make it stronger again with a fire technique. Wind jutsu that are gusts and cyclones are really easy to combine with fire.
