I was thinking about DBZ yesterday and specifically about fusions such as Gotenks, Gogeta and Vegito. One of the things that I thought about was:
What if Gotenks conceives a child with a girl and then defuses? Then that child would have 3 biological parents (Goten, Trunks, the girl)! How awkward do you think life would be for that child? Whose side of the family would he/she live with? Goten's? Trunks'? Who would the girl go with also? Filling out forms and applications that need you to put your parents' names on them would be troublesome as well.
Also, couldn't Goten and Trunks gain all of the knowledge that the other person had when they fuse? Think about it: Gotenks should know everything that Goten knows and everything that Trunks knows. Since Goten and Trunks should remember how they felt and what they knew when they were fused, they should remember any information that the other person had. This could be troublesome if a fuser is mischievous. Goten could hack into Trunks' bank account this way!
Now this one is really problematic: Potara fusion is permanent. Now Goku and Vegeta got lucky that Majin Buu's body was able to dissolve the fusion, but imagine that they had stayed as Vegito forever. What solutions (assuming that the dragon balls were gone for some reason) do you think they'd come up with to resolve any family/personal life issues that would come up? I suppose they could try fusing Chichi and Bulma into Chulma and leave the kids as they are (I am sure Gohan and Goten wouldn't mind having Trunks as another brother). Once Chichi and Bulma fuse, they could all move into Bulma's house (because she's rich) and be a nice family of 5 (6 if you count Bulla). Plus, Chulma could still be the president of Capsule corp since she'd still have Bulma's knowledge. Chichi was a farmer and mainly got money from her dad, so Chulma could always farm in her free time and Chichi wouldn't be giving up much by fusing with Bulma. I just really think that they'd have to fuse Chichi and Bulma because husband/wife couples usually do things like sleeping together, kissing and engaging in sexual activity. If Chichi individually tried to kiss Vegito then it would be awkward for Bulma (and vice versa).
What do you think about these problems? What solutions could you see happening?
