Furuta's fight with Kaneki was super lackluster

I know the plot has to progress but that fight was so weak. RC suppressed Hinami 1 shot him. This guy is in V. He's supposed to be a bad ass, right?

Either he was holding back (which I doubt) or he just serves as an informant with just above average fighting capability.

I was really hoping he was a secret bad ass but I was let down.

Thoughts?

Kaneki getting out actually benefits Furuta though so of course he was joking around. And if Furuta is a ghoul then he will become stronger when he releases his Kagune

Never thought he was strong enough to put up a fight against Kaneki. According to him, he is a spy after all, not a fighter.

As for Hinami, she has her onii chan with her now, lol.

The fact that Furuta did not take the the fight against Kaneki seriously doesn't mean Furuta is strong. Furuta isn't a strong character, in my opinion, that is why he would rather play dumb and be humiliated than take the a fight seriously and die.

i am just trying to find purpose in his character
just like how naruto strayed away from anything to do with ninjas Tokyo ghoul has seemed to stray away from ghouls and investigators
arima and kaneki are so strong it just mKes everything seem so irrelevant to me

It seemed like furuta was joking around the entire fight. The way he was rolling around on the ground and shouting out all his attacks or actions before even doing them. He even picked his tooth back up off the floor, put it back in, and then gave a thumbs up. He most likely is stronger than he seems.

Obviously he has no true intentions on killing Ken...which him isn't dying there is more proof he is of greater importance later on.

I believe he has other intentions...i think he is strong, he just did not take the fight serious for whatever reason. As we saw, that thumb attack was quite the surprise for kaneki, if hinami had not been there kaneki would have lost an eye.
