Huh. I barely, barely, ever watched One Piece. I stopped watching after Crocodile arc, but I know a little bit about what happened. Like the Whitebeard War was to stop Ace's execution I think. I barely know a thing about Akainu, but I kinda liked the way he looked and his powers, and I didn't know he killed Ace. He kinda reminds me of Danzo though.

That's the whole point of Akainu, he isn't supposed to be liked, this way he can be a proper villain. All of that is true though

I recently finished One Piece and got up to date on the manga. Does Fairy Tail get any better in the later episodes?

I watched like 20 episodes of it and it was so damn repetitive... every battle that Natsu guy would easily beat his opponents with ease with some stupid moves and story in between battles wasn't that great... and it kept repeating like that and I lost interest. Might try getting back into it?

It gets pretty good at the Phantom Lord Arc, that starts at episode 21 actually. The main antagonists Gajeel and Jose Porla are pretty cool, so far Jose is my favorite character. Plus Makarov shows his full power in that arc.
After that are a couple boring episodes, I think maybe 2 or 3, so I'd skip those until the episode where Natsuu, Gray, etc. go to a luxury resort. That's the start of the Tower of Heaven arc and the main antagonist, Jellal, is very interesting.

I felt so trolled after Whitebeard RAAAAGED on his monkey magma ass and then that bastard comes crawling out 10 mins later. I really thought that WB had killed him lol.
