As some of you might know Kidd's character is based on William "Captain" Kidd. So I decided to google this man and I found something interesting/fun:

The dutch version of this Wiki page actually said that this kill made him become a pirate. I was thinking that this is reason Oda gave Kidd the magnetic DF. It's nothing major, but I thought it was a fun little thing I found for the One piece fans.

Cool, I'll add some trivia, the Gorosei was modeled from Influential Political leaders in history. Like the Gorosie with sword he is Ghandi from India, forgot the rest just look em up.
