FMA has its good points, too.

Brotherhood is better, the other anime deviates from the original manga while FMA: Brotherhood follows the manga more closely. The original anime one wasn't bad either though.

The original had too complicated of an ending and also it had a sad ending Ed and Al were together and got their bodies back but they.... :NO: Brotherhood had a simpler ending and a happier one. of course Edward had to sacrifice something dear to him but still it was a great ending

Brotherhood, it follows the original manga and the original manga is just a masterpiece. You wouldn't be disappointed watching either though.

I started reading the manga but then all of a sudden I stopped reading it because I had to concentrate on school and I guess I never picked the series up again. Thanks for the info.
