Sup guys, 6 paths here
I made this thread awhile ago and appearantly forgot to post it or something  However, I’m posting it now, this is a thread explaining why Nagato would beat Itachi in a battle, I hope you’ll enjoy it
Now, both of these characters are exceptionally powerful, but since they've both had to deal with some serious handicaps (Nagato's legs and Itachi's illness) I've decided to NOT take them into account, and just focus on their abilities, experience, intellegence, etc. So pretty much, this is a fight between two completely healthy Itachi and Nagato (Itachis eyesight is also unharmed)
Sooo, let's begin:
Uzumaki Nagato: The leader of Akatsuki, an extremely powerful shinobi, and a user of the most powerful Dojutsu, the Rinnegan.
The Rinnegan: Like I said before, the Rinnegan is considered to be the most powerful Dojutsu of all 3 (the other 2 being the Sharingan, and the Byakugan.) It evolves from the Sharingan, but since Nagato got his eyes implanted, and didn't evolve them himself, he is not able to use Sharingan techniques via his eyes, or at least has never been shown to be able to. The Rinnegan grants its user amazing abilities, the most notable one being the techniques of the 6 Paths. These techniques are:
Deva path: being able to control attractive and repulsive forces.
Asura path: being able to summon a mechanical armor and limbs which can be used both for defense, and for offense.
Preta path: being able to suck up chakra, and therefore make all techniques that require chakra, useless.
Human path: being able to rip a persons soul out, simply by touching them.
Naraka path: being able to summon the king of hell, which can be used for interrogation, and restoration. This ability probably won't help Nagato too much vs Itachi, since he isn't able to revive himself, and really doesn't have any reason to interrogate Itachi.
Animal path: being able to summon various animals which can be used for many purposes. I'll name all of Nagatos summons and they're abilities, and I will not take into account any summons, that he "may have" been able to summon, simply because he has never been shown to summon other creatures. His summons have so far been:
The multi-headed dog probably Nagatos strongest summon, no matter how often it gets hit, it can simply split, and the splitting seemingly doesnðt have any limits. This dog has only been seen getting beaten by two men, Jiraiya, who summoned the dog inside a frog of his, which crushed all the dogs, and Itachi himself, via Amaterasu.
Drill Beaked Bird A giant, really weird, drill beaked bird. It has been shown to be able to fly at incredible speed, and by using its beak, it can be really hard do defend against.
The giant Panda which has the ability to harden its body, making it a great defensive tool.
A chameleon[/B, which has a snake for a tail. It has the ability to be able to become completely invisible, although I don't think it can become completely unsensable, like Mu, and it probably can't hide from Itachi's Sharingan. It has been used for offensive purposes, as seen when Nagato used it in the Konoha invasion
Other creatures, which are mostly used for their brutal strength, including an ox, a caterpillar, a rhino, and a few more.
Nagato shares a field of vision with all of his summons, which he can use to help him notice attacks aimed at him outside of his sight.
Another ability that the Rinnegan grants its user, is to be able to master all 5 nature types, which Nagato had done. there's no need to explain this, we can all imagine how useful this can be.
The Rinnegan also grants its user the ability to use The Chibaku Tensei. Nagato creates a tiny, black sphere, which floats up in the sky, and then attracts objects from all directions, crushing anyone who gets caught in this technique, unless the person is able to destroy the sphere before getting crushed, which can only be done by a powerful attack (the only time this has been done was via a Rasenshuriken, a TBB, and a Yasaka Magatama (a very powerful fire-technique))
The users of the Rinnegan can also see chakra, which can be of great help in a battle vs Itachi, since Nagato can sense when Itachi is going to use an attack.
Sensory skills: According to Itachi himself, Nagato was a very powerful sensory ninja. Nagato could also use his Rain Tiger at Will Technique, which allowed him to make a rain fall, which was infused with his chakra, and could help him identify a persons chakra if the rain was falling on them.
Nagato was a shinobi of the Uzumaki clan, which granted him long life, and very large chakra reserves, and also the ability to summon the Gedo Mazo, since he was a Rinnegan user.
The Gedo Mazo has been shown to be able to use a technique, pretty similar to the Human path, where it uses the users chakra to summon a dragon-like creature, which removes the souls of everything it touches.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now,
Uchiha Itachi:
Uchiha Itachi, a shinobi who hailed from the famous Uchiha clan, and was praised as a genius above all others of his generation, even by the high standards of his clan.
Mangekyo Sharingan: Being an Uchiha, Itachi inherited the Kekke Genkai of the clan, the Sharingan. The Sharingan can, similar to the Rinnegan, allow the user to see the flow of Chakra, and also gives the chakra different colors, so the user can view the nature of the Chakra. It also greatly increases the users sight, making him able to see things in the tiniest details, which can help the user read his enemies movements, which can be a huge advantage in a battle. It also allows the user to remember any technique they see, in excruciating detail, so he can copy that technique perfectly. Itachi had evolved his Sharingan into a Mangekyo Sharingan, allowing him to use some seriously powerful techniques, the three most noteable being:
1. The Tsukuyomi, a very powerful Genjutsu, which allows Itachi to drag his opponent into a world where Itachi controls both space, and time. This technique does require eye contact for Itachi to be able to use it. Itachi had completely mastered this technique.
2. The Amaterasu, a powerful technique, said to be the strongest of all fire types. When used, everything the users eye focuses on will instantly be put on fire, which is said to be inextinguishable. Before using this tech, Itachi has to close his eye, and bleed from it.
3. The Susanoo. The user summons a giant warrior of extraordinary power, which surrounds the user, and can both be used for defensive, and offensive purposes. Itachi's Susanoo wielded the Yata Mirror, a shield of all 5 nature types, which is said to be able to deflect any attack, and the Sword of Totsuka, which seals anything it pierces in an eternal Genjutsu.
Although Itachi did not specialize in it, he was a very strong Taijutsu user, and had very good reflexes.
Itachi's Ninjutsu mainly revolved around fire-type moves, and he was able to use some very powerful fire techs. His speciality was also using crows, both when using Genjutsu and Ninjutsu.
He has been shown to have exceptional speed when forming hand seals.
He has also shown exceptional abilities when using weapons such as Shuriken and Kunai, and when combined with his great reflexes, this can be a great threat to his enemies.
One of Itachis main features is his greati intelligence. He has been shown to be able to quickly analyze an enemies fighting style, and find a good counter for it
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, I think we've covered most of their abilities, and the conclusion we've come to is that these two gentlemen are not someone you f*** around with
Now, I'm going to start showing you why I think Nagato can beat Itachi in a fight.
1. Keep in mind that we're talking about Nagato, not he 6pop.
2. This thread is in no way made to disrespect Itachi or his fans, I'm aware of the fact that he is an amzaing shinobi and he is IMO without a doubt, the 2. most powerful member of the original 9 Akatsuki.
Well then, let's look at Itachi's abilities and how Nagato can counter them:
Amaterasu: Nagato has been shown to be one of only three persons to be able to counter this technique, the other two being Tobi, via unknown methods, and the Raikage, simply by being too fast for it. Like I said, Nagato has been shown to able to counter this via his Shinra Tensei, simply by blowing off the flames. The flames might be able to do some damage to him, but Nagato should be able to take care of this quite easily.
Tsukuyomi: This technique can be veery dangerous, since Nagatos prime weakness is Genjutsu, but Tsukuyomis main drawback is the fact that it needs eye contact to work. Nagato is a very powerful sensory ninja, and he could probably avoid the technique with this skill. He could also, of course, simply levitate high enough in the air to avoid it. However, I won't deny the fact that if Itachi manages to catch Nagato in this technique, victory is without a doubt, his.
Susanoo: The Susanoo is a being completely made out of chakra, and with the Preta Path abilities, Nagato should be able to absorb the Susanoo, or at least a part of it. Itachi has been shown to have below average stamina, and witholding it while Nagato sucks up his chakra, would be pretty hard for Itachi. Also, since powerful attacks have been shown to be able to break the Susanoo, Nagato might be able to get through the Susanoo by using some of his more powerful attacks, Shinra, Chabaku, or any of his Nature Transformation techs for example.
Ninjutsu and Taijutsu: These two attacking styles are pretty much renders useless by Nagatos Preta, Asura, and Human paths, the Preta path being able to absorb all Ninjutsu, while the Asura path has been shown to be able to block most physical attacks, like for example, Kakashis Chidori. Nagato could also simply use the Human path to remove Itachis soul when Itachi tries to use Taijutsu. Itachis Shuriken abilities are also pretty much useless against Nagato, since the Deva path can take care of most of the attacks, and Nagato should be able to take care of them by using a mechanical limb from Asura, or maybe even by summoning his panda via Animal path.
So, I think I've pretty much proved that Nagato is able to take care of Itachi's Jutsu, but lets take a look at how Itachi handles Nagato:
The 6 paths techs: The Naraka path is pretty much useless in this fight, I don't need to cover that. Itachi should be able to take care of the Animal paths summons as well, since he was able to take care of a few of them just with his Shuriken vs Edo Nagato. The summons wont really do a lot to Itachi with Shuriken stuck in their eyes, and also, since they are so big, Amaterasu should be able to handle them, since they aren't able to use Shinra Tensei themselves. Although Itachi obviously can't spam Amaterasu too much because of his low stamina. However, Itachi really doesn't have an answer to the rest of the paths, the Deva, Asura, Human, and Preta.
Itachis intelligence, reflexes, and mastery of fire, (he was also quite skilled at water-type, but probably not as much as fire) jutsu might be able to counter Nagatos nature transformations, although this is really just an opinion since we've never really seen Nagatos true skill of the Nature-type jutsu.
Now, the main reason I think Nagato can take Itachi is because of his Chibaku Tensei. This technique is extremely hard to avoid, and by himself, Itachi is pretty unlikely to be able to destroy the core.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well then, I think I've said pretty much everything there is to say about this, so now I'd like to add just a little bit
1. I do not think Nagato will stomp Itachi. Itachi does have a chance against Nagato, but Nagatos abilities are a very good counter against Itachis abilities, and IMO Nagato will win AT LEAST 8 times out of 10.
2. This is not a fanboy thread, I'm just looking at the facts and forming an opinion based on them.
3. Don't comment "Itachi already beat Nagato, Manga>Opinion Hurr Durr”, Itachi wouldn't have been able to get out of CT without help from Naruto and Bee. Otherwise, feel free to comment on this thread at will
tell me if you agree or disagree and WHY. Maybe I've forgotten some important fact which could completely change the results of this battle.
4. If I've forgotten to mention something in this thread that might be important in this fight feel free to tell me about it
5. I apologize in advance for any spelling mistakes I may have made, English is a second language to me
6. The information I used in this thread came from either memory, or from
