Fuin is an area of Ninjutsu which deals with, as indicated by its name, sealing. Virtually anything can be sealed by Fuinjutsu, be it objects (e.g. weapons), living things (e.g. Biju), even energy itself (e.g. Curse Mark). Fuin techniques use a wide range of means and mediums to accomplish the act of sealing something, such as a tag with a seal built into it which seals objects they're applied to, barriers which are capable of absorbing chakra, formulae which seal or unleash stored energy, etc. Seals are made of several parts, all of them being present in a number of techniques and some absent in others, but most of, if not all of them, are focused on the binding, restriction of, or otherwise general control over various objects and energies. They can be used to great effect as defensive and supplementary techniques, as they aren't as limited in their capacity to defend against the elements as other sealing abilities such as Dark Release, and can bestow unique effects upon techniques which would otherwise be outside the scope of other areas.

So the canon list will have barriers and more traditional forms of sealing, and combinations of the two. Barriers are general considered less advanced than a fuuinjutsu seal, though that is not always the case.
Just some other things to note: You can have up to five body seals on your bio, six when you're an Official Sage or Finished Med-school; Fuuinjutsu incorporates making seals on the fly, or having pre-made tags to place on your target. It can also be broken down into barriers, which are less complicated or true (don't have a better term) seals.
Most of that is a spiel from a previous student, you mentioned some of the other things I would generally write about so... let's get started!
This Fuuinjutsu is in fact a barrier. Its role is a little less complicated than other jutsu that aim to restrain or restrict a target. This barrier allows you to sense movement inside a certain area, linked to you as a sort of sixth sense.
Then we have this one, a proximity trap. This technique follows the criteria akin to sealing fuuinjutsu: Object, the explosive aspect of the tags. Medium/Vessel, being the explosive markers/tags. Trigger, a chakra source different to the one that set the tags. Binding, is the actual kanji and inscriptions on the seal. Chakra, is the cost of chakra you spend to set the tags and is also how they know not to explode when your chakra passes through the boundary. Key, not applicable to this jutsu.
Once a foreign chakra source passes through a boundary (ie walking between two tags), it will activate the trigger and cause the release of the stored explosion.
How you reply to this training is up to you. Whether it be with questions, general comments/musings or combinations of those.

The first technique is movement-based sensory with less range than the chakra sensory technique. Though you do still have roughly the same level of detection capability as with the sensory technique, your ability to predict the exact nature of the attack isn't as great. You can detect an attack is coming, but whether its an elemental jutsu or simply a weapon is something you'll need to rely on your senses for. Further, ground-based attacks aren't as easy to defend against with the type of detection this barrier offers, since chakra sensory would let you sense the chakra moving through the ground, whereas the physical movement that takes place for those techniques is all your barrier can detect. And chances are that you'd be able to detect those kinds of attacks coming to a greater capacity than the barrier.

Basically, these are set up to encompass a short-range area within the explosion; meaning that the space itself within the box-formation, would have the same number of meters-squared as a circle around a particular point with a short-range diameter. These tags can be placed by throwing them if you so choose.

For this, you are basically using your chakra to disrupt the medium of the barrier, overloading it with your chakra to destroy it. Note that it only works on B-rank Barriers.

Both of these are pretty simple, not much to say about them really. I'm assuming the barrier erected in the 2nd technique has a short-range diameter, and that once it fully forms nothing can enter or leave? For the sake of clarification, does the barrier shattering technique only break barriers that encompass short-mid range? Or is it able to break any barriers which are larger (assuming any barriers that are long-range exist).

Tag Barrier: It's a physical barrier, so simply walking through it is a no-go. You'd need to break it with a strong enough jutsu, or the barrier shatter technique.
Barrier Shatter Technique: I don't believe any long-range B-rank barriers exist, at least not in the NB Jutsu list. However, in saying that, as long as you are within mid-range of the source of the barrier, then you would be able to break it. For example, if there is a barrier that requires four tags to be placed/to sustain it, as long as you are within range of one of those you can break the barrier.
If those answers don't explain what you were asking, then I'll try again in my next reply.

In the anime, this was performed by four shinobi, however our RP allows us to perform it singularly. Fairly easy to break out of, since it requires something B-rank or greater and only prevents you from using S-ranks.
Just a way of texting people in the NW. Doesn't have a distance limit however it only works with the scrolls you originally create with this jutsu. The recipient of the second (or however many scrolls you make) will all need to know Fuuinjutsu to be able to unlock/read/send messages with this technique.

Yup, all clear now.
Both of these techniques are pretty clear with their description, no real questions on how they work. You say that Infinite Embrace prevents the target from using S-Ranks, but the technique description states that they can't perform techniques above S-Rank? Wouldn't that mean they're only barred from using F-Ranks? Or is it an error in the jutsu?

I honestly believe it is an error in the jutsu description, so it reads like it would only prevent F-ranks but the way I was taught/understand it, it prevents using S-ranks and higher.
This is the seal we mainly saw people use against the Edo tensei, placed after the Edo was trapped by some other jutsu. Works best on Summons and Edo tensei, people will more than likely just rip it off and this has no effect on Jinchuuriki.
If you come across me as your opponent, this jutsu does not exist O__O'
It's the seal Jiraiya gave Kakashi of which he used in the early parts of Shippuden, kicking him out of the transformation. Only works on specifically the Incomplete Transformation.

In the case of expert ninjas, the tags might even be incorporated into the restraining technique, with no need to actually manually place the tag or tags. Additionally, less experienced ninjas can find that throwing one or more kunais with the sealing tags attached at the technique which will trigger the same effect when the kunais stick on the technique. This prevents the target from moving, molding chakra or even being summoned.

Not bad, not great either. The best ways to use this, in my eyes, would either to place it on a kunai and either distract an opponent with it, or use it as a sneak attack with something else acting as the diversion. Would tagging a kunai with it and then using shuriken kage bunshin multiply the tags too?
Not the most practical technique, I'll admit. Chances are that if you're next to a Jin when they're in partial transformation, they're trying to kill you, and it requires you to get within arm's reach...

Both of these are pretty simple, not very much to say about them. The generic sealing is good for keeping a large amount of weapons on the bio without over-encumbering, and the sealing trap explosion is a faster and more efficient version of the earlier explosive tag technique. No questions.

This is what the Sound Four used to transport Sasuke in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc... Yeah, hold an opponent inside the container for a singular turn, putting a pause on any turn-limit that might be effecting them (eg. they wouldn't lose Sage Chakra for this one turn they are sealed away for).
( Ho/Mizu/Kaze/Tsuchi/Rai Houin ) - Fire/Water/Wind/Earth/Lightning Sealing Method

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to unseal the attack and it only works on the basic five elements. Like any fuuin that requires a scroll or tag, you can have this pre-made on your bio by stating it as such. You can specifically say you have scrolls for a certain jutsu, or just say you carry a number of pre-made seals/scrolls on your bio.

So, with that first technique, the Four Black Fog Battle Formation, will any restraining technique do the job when placing the tags? Or does it have to be a specific item/object?
Lightning Blade Creation has a pretty nasty chakra cost if you want to use them at full capacity, probably a lot more than its worth tbh. The effect itself isn't great either, since its just a volley of weapons.

However you restrain your target, or whatever sort of box-esque thing you use as the vessel, it doesn't matter. You can have them stunned from a lightning jutsu, knocked out due to WSE health rules; put them in a treasure chest, a rather sturdy Papier-mâché nest... just so long as it can be enclosed with a lid that the tags can then be placed on to close.
Hopefully that cleared up your question... if not, we'll sort it out in the next post.

Better sensing barrier than the one you learnt earlier. You need to be within the barrier in order to sense people moving within or passing through the barrier walls. The main weakness of this is that kunai can be targeted in order to disrupt the barrier itself, by destroying the sealing tag.
This detects movement, so the only real way to avoid this sensing is to meditate in order to prepare Sage Mode... with obvious draw-backs to that unless done correctly.
Again, a more advanced version of an earlier jutsu, this time transferring more chakra to you whilst also taking more from your opponent. This version also has a pressure that holds the target in place, negating the need for a restraining jutsu.

The user will create a tag with the 許可 (Kyoka) Kanji and place it on the ground, doing the confrontation hand seal afterwards to activate it. After the barrier is erected, the user, if inside it, will be able to detect any enemy inside it, even if he hiding his presence. After that, anyone who enters or leaves the barrier is instantly detected as well as anything that moves inside it. Description: This technique is a stronger version of Infinite Embraces and is used basically in the same manner. The user will do the Tiger → Dog → Horse → Dragon → Boar hand seals and slam his hands on the ground, creating a bigger barrier than the original technique but similar in its essence which drains the target's chakra but also pushes down on them making it much harder to break free. The massive pressure the technique puts on the target prevents the target from moving unless it has some sort of enhanced strength ability, making it very difficult to break free from it. Unable to move, the targets are also unable to mold chakra above A-Rank while having his chakra drained. The barrier can only be broken by A-Rank techniques or above or by attacking the user.

Mostly clear on both, just got a couple of questions.
In theory, could the boundary technique be erected over a landmark? For security purposes in WSE. And with MIE, and by extension IE, is it able to absorb chakra from techniques? Or is it just enemy ninja?

I thought about that a while ago, until I saw the chakra cost per turn, meaning per every post you make within the landmark. However, the daily chakra regen is more than enough to make this technique sustainable xD
I would only attempt the Multiple IE on a jutsu, since it has a downward force, it would be able to stop any remaining mass (in the case of a matter based technique) after it takes the chakra. You'd only be receiving the amount of chakra that jutsu has (for example 30 for A-ranks) or however much chakra that particular summon may have... which I don't really know the chakra pool for summons unless they specifically say >__<
That medical sealing master line, should instead be read as "those that possess advanced Fuuinjutsu", which is a separate ability you can purchase.

So, this is an older jutsu so I don't believe it had in mind the ability to actually seal away 50% of a users remaining chakra. However, that is how it is written so that is what it does! So long as a target is within the seal, they cannot access half of their remaining chakra and prevents them from using S-rank and F-rank jutsu.
Avoiding this seal can be done in free form, by simply stepping outside the circle, or doing something cause the target to uncross their weapons. Yes, the user must maintain the formation of there weapons in order to sustain the seal, so it's a really good team tactic or a good combo with clones/summons.
