Fugaku and Minato friends?

Kushina and Sasuke's mother were friends and cobsidering their age similarity, they were probably friends too. Considering that Fugaku was head of the police force, he would have worked closely with Minato.

I also like the ring it gives to the planned Coup. Fukagu, being furious about the accusation that he was responsible for the death of a close friend, and angry about the way his clan was treated with suspicion decided the Third wasn't acting the way Minato would have. He planned the Coup because he disagreed with the Thirds weak leadership and Danzo's free reign with Root.

Perhaps he realized what Danzo was doing, tried to convince the Third to stop it and took matters into his own hands when he didn't. Danzo blew the threat represented way out of proportion to defend himself against Fukagu's attenpts to force him out of his position.

From what we know of Minato's character, he would never have approved of root and maybe Fugaku's realization that the village was run totally counter to his morals was the last straw.

Fugaku, as Police Chief, would have worked side by side with the Hokage, like it or not. And Fugaku resented the village leaders after the nine tails attack, nothing is mentioned about his personal feelings prior to that.

I also find it hard to believe that his wife, who would have shared some of his feelings, would hang out with the wife of a man her husband hated. Its far more likely that they were at least amiable and still likely they were friends.

The Uchiha ressented the higher ups since Tobirama's administration days. The things became unbearable after the Kyuubi attack.
And I really don't see it só far-fatched for Mikoto to be friends with the wife of someone her husband did not like. Its pretty common between couples to have that type of problem.
