How come in the Minato vs Obito fight, Obito kept thinking that it would be an instant win if he grasped Minato and teleported him to the Kamui dimension? Wouldn't Minato just be able to use FTG to get back to Konoha? -_-

obito's dimension is like a barrier from the real world. no one could escape except obito or kakashi

That place doesn't even exist in the Narutoverse. Only in Obito's eyes. It makes sense for Kamui being the only way in or out of that dimension.

Well it was said that kamui is a unique and specialized S/T jutsu that grants a different dimension for the user which only he can interact to.
And since it's an ability granted by MS we can conclude that is a higher level S/T jutsu.Maybe that dimension can't be overpassed from another S/T technique.

well, to be fair I don't think Minato was too sure he could escape as well, otherwise he would have allowed Tobi to warp him the second time and use it to his advantage. from the evidence we've seen, s/t techs do counter s/t techs- minato being warped vs obito and kakashi's kamui on the gedo mazou being negated. so in theory Minato should be able to escape though.

Obito was confident he would have won if he warped Minato.
Altho i am more inclined to say Minato a genius could just warp back out then to trust a 14 y old angry child in one of his whimps.

This is a hard question with only kishi who can give an absolute answer however the manga this has been answered somewhat. The manga made it clear 3 times during minato vs obito that if obito warped him it was over. This was the first time when he tried and minato escaped in time with hirashin. The second time was when obito said with confidence that the next time he would succeed. Obito knew of minato's hirashin from being his sensei but also knew of his alias which was the "yellow flash", yet he tried to warp him. Even after being unsuccessful because minato managed to escape in time, he claimed with confidence that he would basically win if he warps him, that is enough to say that minato cannot escape and perhaps that is why he used hirashin the first time. The third time was when he said the person who strikes faster basically win's and as we know obito needs to touch his target to warp them and he nearly touched minato for minato to teleport on top of him using hirashin level 2. This enough information from kishi to state clearly that if obito did accomplish this feat he wins.

Ill use two other example's of dimension based technique's that might limit hirashin and from there we might accurately speculate on this topic.

The way i see kamui, i see it as a barrier technique where only the wielder of the eye can determine who enters or leaves the technique. Infact i believe kamui is very similar to jiraiya's Kekkai Gama Hyoro. Both are s/t technique's. Secondly both take the opponent into a dimension. We know that with jiraiya's its a dimension, but also its a form of barrier technique.

As the DB states "it is a sealed dimension isolated from the outside world exists". This description can be also applies to the dimension that exists beyond obito's sharingan. That dimension doesnt exist in the real world. As you note gama hyoro is mainly a barrier technique and i believe kamui is also a barrier technique because of how it work's. Being a barrier technique is possible that only those who wield this technique can access this dimension.

Ill give you a second example which is orochimaru's fushi tensei. In this technique he drag's his prey into a dimension that exists within himself;

With fushi tensei, orochimaru drag's his prey to a dimension that exists within himself. This dimension doesn't exist in the real world and the same can be said about kamui/gama hyoro.

To put it simple, the wielder of a kamui eye has access to enter/leave the dimension as they please.

You must be registered for see images

"The same eye, as expected you came back"

I believe apart from the fact that kamui is a dimension, its also a barrier technique where only those with the eye have access to. Therefore anything that is trapped there cannot be accessed even with another s/t ability.

You can say dimensions that exist beyond the real world will test hirashin

I do not believe so. In that case kuchiyose users can possibly escape aswell

I don't think the age matters :| sasuke beat a most wanted ninja and broke in the summit and fought all the kages.

no he can't
no one can go out from kamui's dimension except for obito and kakashi
when obito had warped kakakshi and kakashi went out from the other dimension ,obito said (as i expected ,the same eyes )
so if there another kamui's user but not obito's dimension he can't go out from obito's other dimension
so minato can't go out from it with his s/t

This^ Its more than likely Minato would be instantly put in a genjutsu once he was in there anyways so it doesn't matter.

no FTG should very well be able to escape the kamui dimension however there is no way of knowing this since minato never went into the dimension

i personally believe if minato has a seal on the outside and since FTG is a S/T tech he should very well be able to warp out of the dimension to the location of his kunai
