Does anyone know what the deal with Jellal is? im all caught up but im still confused. i remember reading one chapter where Jellal gets stopped by dranbolt and they talk and he said he isnt Jellal but he is Jellal? im kinda really confused...

The old man tried to lie to Doranbolt and the officers and said that the Jellal in the games was from Edolas and thus looked like Jellal. However Doranbolt and the officer lady didn't fall for it but they couldn't do anything about it because that important ex-council member was backing them.

He made it sound like he was edolas jellal so he would not be suspicious and Yajima backed this speech.There is edolas jellal which was mystogan and regular jellal who grew up with erza any other info you need just vm me.

Yeah they haven't really shown him much since then, the only other time they showed him was when he chased down that person with that strange magic power but he seemed surprised. He then explained to Ultear and Meldy about what he discovered but since then haven't shown him.
