I'm a pretty consistent voter for the UK's Green party which is criminally oversimplified as some weaker Left-leaning party. It stuns me that environmentalist parties and issues don't stand a chance of entering the main discussion when the world needs them now more than ever.

Science should be objectively unpoliticised and feared/respected or at least f*cking recognised by all parties. How did things get like this? How bad do things have to get before the world unanimously is forced to realise the danger we're in? Flooding?

Because big oil corporations have too much power and too much influence over our politics and they invest in climate denial to maximize profits and people buy into it.

We over here in Germany actually learned this kinda stuff relatively early in school. So naturally most people are very concerned.

You live in the USA right? Is it uncommon to learn about climate change etc. or why are there so many people completely denying it?

I don't know what they teach in school presently, but when I went to school, I never learnt about it.

A lot of people think it's inconvenient for them to believe it and remain blissfully ignorant.

A lot of climate denial studies circulate throughout the U.S. and the U.S. is known for having a huge amount of not just climate deniers, but science deniers in general.

It doesn't help that our current President says Climate Change is a hoax, left the Paris Agreement, and is dismantling the EPA and suppressing its studies.
