Ok, so we know Uzumaki clan has some distant relation with senju clan. BUt have you noticed that the clan symbol of Uzumakis is VERY VERY VERY similar to the dojutsu of uhciha clan's ancestor???

a lot of things in this manga use spirals.
Rasengan for one, is a spiral.
Kamui is a spiral.
Those spiral food pieces in ramen are called naruto, which have spirals on them.
The whirlpool village is named after a spiral (a whirlpool).
The list can go on.
So it happens to be, the eldest son of the sage, has a spiral in his eyes.
It could have something to do with the uzumaki, or it could just be another spiral.

Seeing how the uzumaki are in the whirlpoolvillage, i feel the emblem just describes a whirlpool.
