The soft white blanket brushed against Naruto's sun-kissed skin making him giggle just a little. In his oblivious, peaceful state, he missed the ominous red eyes opening in his mind, the sickening, feral grin of the fox looming over his mind. Then came the laughter, that insane deep growl that rumbled deep within Naruto's own throat.

“Hey, Sakura-chan!”, yelled the blond gleefully as he made his way towards their team's usual meeting spot.
The pink haired kunoichi didn't even turn to look at her comrade, merely waving him away with his hand in acknowledgment. She was too busy talking to her favorite black haired companion. Naruto just stopped beside them, his goofy grin in place. With his hands on the back of his neck, he let his gaze wander about the usual training ground they had.
“What are you looking for..~?”
Naruto swiveled around, eyes wide. Looking behind him, his arms reacting by holding a kunai out. Frantic eyes searched for the voice, his breathing stopping, heart nearly beating out of his chest. Releasing his tensed muscles, he dismissed the voice for the time being. The voice must have been the wind, he reasoned.
“Naruto, something wrong?”, came the high kunochi voice. Her eyes glared at the blond, her arms crossed over her chest.
He rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed at having been noticed. “N-no, just thought I heard someone talking to me.”
She scoffed and turned back to her precious, future husband. Naruto frowned and turned his back to them again. So what if they ignored him? He could always gain their attention by pranking them, forcing them to talk to him. He grinned and rubbed his hands in anticipation.
He felt the hot air against his ear before the voice, shivers going through his frame from just the breath alone.
“Heartless, aren't they? They don't even acknowledge you!”, laughed the voice.
He spun around again, his frown turning into a sneer. He was about ready to tell the voice to shove it, but noticed the stares of his friends first. Both of them raised their brows, questioning stares replaced by glares. Immediately, he spun around with his face flushing.
“See? They don't even know you and yet, they glare at you, and never get to know you.”
“Shut up...”, he growled; fist clenching in anger. Why? Why was the voice doing this to him?! All he wanted was to be normal, to fit in... to have friends.
“Friends? You want friends who hate you? Call you names and beat you?”, the voice laughed, loud and low; threatening to burst into the sky. Naruto had to clutch his ears to keep from screaming in pain.
“Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!”, he screamed, hands digging into his hair and pulling. The voice was tearing his head open, rupturing his thoughts, blowing away anything he was thinking of. Falling to his knees, he let his head hit the ground in an attempt to stop the pain. The tears came, dripping down into the ground, then the blood from his forehead; mixing with the tears in a glossy pink.
He felt hands against his body, trying to tear him away from the ground, away from the small pool of dark brown. He could still hear the voice, laughing at him, howling in delight at his pain. The high pitched scream caused him to look up for a brief moment, into Sakura's worried face; then his vision went blurry then black.
