Yea, they showed that necklace a couple of times before, but it seems like every Rinnegan user has one, like it's passed down or something..

Well, there was another theory posted that REALLY makes sense. In layman's terms, it states that each Rinnegan user is a reincarnation of the last.
That necklace (with SIX little teeth things), probably allows them access to the "6 Paths" or "6 Realms"

Itachi does wear a necklace, but if you do a quick google image search of ''Itachi'' you'll see that he wears a different necklace.

] you'll see he wears the same necklace, so this leads me to assume that each person that inherits the Rinnegan, also inherits the previous user's looks, personality, ect. which further backs the whole ''Reincarnation'' theory.
