When it comes to anime and manga, many fans like to ship their favorite pairings. This generally involves a relationship between the male and female main character or a main character and a support character.Very often, their are arguments about which parings will happen.
These are not the pairings that I am interested in discussing as those pairings are boring. Rather, I want to discuss Forbidden and unlikely pairings.
An unlikely pairing comes from an unlikely relationship between 2 very different characters. A Forbidden pairing is an unlikely relationship between people from two opposing sides.
These are some examples of some unlikely and forbidden pairings that I find interesting.
Naruto: Suigetsu and Karin: This is a very unlikely relationship considering those two hate each other. In fact, they very often want to kill each other. The friction between them is exactly why I find this pairing so interesting.
Bleach: Ulquiorra and Orihime: This is my favorite forbidden pairing. The two of them have had such an interesting relationship since Ulquiorra brought Orihime to Hueco Mundo. Also there seems to be a thing where Ulquiorra keeps trying to touch Orihime's chest.
(For those of you who are saying "Ulquiorra is dead", this is what I have to say. If Ichigo can survive having his chest blasted out by Ulquiorra, then Ulquiorra can survive disintegrating for no reason.)
Hunter x Hunter: Kurapika and Shizuku: Imagine a relationship between Kurapika and a member of the phantom troupe, his sworn enemies who tortured and killed his clan. It would be the greatest of all forbidden pairings! To be fair, Shizuku wasn't even involved in the Kurta massacre; she joined a few years later, making their relationship slightly less unlikely.
I'm sure you have other examples. I would love to hear your examples as well as what you think of mine. What do you think of forbidden pairings in general. Do you like them or do you only like traditional pairings?
