When he skipped fights in the war and made Naruto enter the war way too early. Also, the major battle should've been insane Sasuke vs Naruto, not Hokages and all that jazz. Obito should've been the only one involved. Madara should've been sealed by the current Kages and perhaps help with Konoha 11 and Kakashi/Guy/Darui/Etc....

The generally poor pacing in the war.

This war has been heavily flawed.

never...you guys went wrong predicting what the manga should be like...If everyone's prediction or ideal story came to fruit, the manga would suck....I like everything about the story thus far

Just because the "predictions" aren't what people wanted doesn't mean the story itself is not bad and didn't go wrong. There are plenty of things that made the series go bad in areas..

I think he's got his story right on track now, and it'll be easy for him to lead it to a strong ending.

A few places I think he strayed from the right path though:

1. Part 2 character development. Most of the cast that had strong supporting roles during the Chuunin Exam and throughout part 1, were cast aside and their development and resolution from then on was poor. Anko and Neji's for instance.

2. The War Arc. Once the fight with Tobi started, the manga once again went in a meaningful direction. But the whole Edo Tensei thing dragged on and was unneeded support for some well (and not so well) concluded characters. The only important scene from here is Itachi and Sasuke's forehead bump...even the 5 Kage's defeat ended up being useless, although a very strong event before recent chapters.

The time skip in general and everything after it. So much potential thrown away to focus on a handful of Uchihas with their power to summon megazords out of the eyes. The whole Obito thing is ridiculous. The final villain wanting to destroy the world because of a 14 year old girl, who happen to die over 17 years ago. Gaara and any other villain suffered more then this man child.

When the masked man removed his mask, sure before that the quality of the series had been lowered, but it was first after the "removal of the mask" that the series cleary started to, well deteoriate... (kishi used a ½ year to try and dig himself out of the plotholes he created by making Obito = Toby, and some of those plot holes are still there today)

Those plot holes can never be fixed and Kishi makes it even worst by trying to justify that decision. He made that Zetsu body suit, yet it wasn't worn at all during the fight because the fight predated the Obito's death retcon. One year after the war Obito grows that big after having half his body smashed by a bolder.

I just thought of another bad plot device. Hashirama DNA, that whole thing is ridiculous. Madara just injecting himself with the DNA with a Syringe or something while he was dying.

All the bad plot is related to Uchihas. The story would be much cooler if Orochimaru or Pain (not Nagato) as the final villain. Reincarnation of the sage would be badass and trained by Jiraya. That is much more anti-Naruto then the stupidity we got as Obito.

For me personally I can name numerous declines which where ether compensated for or where not. The one decline which I can clearly say made the Manga rather silly for me was the revival of the entire deceased Naruto cast with the exception of one particular Senin. In dragon ball constant character revival was irritating but it was part of that story’s universes laws. In Naruto the first and second Kage’s where revived however that revival was fairly limited and it did fit into that world’s laws.

The mass revival however made death in the series lose some of its consequence. Matters which had been closed where reopened for no good reason other then filler and maybe fan service in my opinion. The Hokage revival especially after being made impossible in the third hokage - Orochimaruo fight (or so we had been told) went against rules I had come to appreciate as… well the settings rules.

Since that final act of revival I have been unable to take anything seriously in the series. Its not too bad now because I have simply stopped taking things seriously in the series and have since then resumed enjoying however it did damage the credibility of the Naruto universe and my faith in it.

I just treat everything now as a pillow fight, if one of those pillows turns out to be SO6P I won’t be surprised because there is no longer any consistency in setting and its universe’s laws which can be counted on. It is as if physics where to be revealed tomorrow to be of no consequence and actually we can all disobey gravity if the plot wants us to.

Obito was in many way’s the final straw.

I still enjoy the Manga, I do not enjoy it for what I enjoyed it for previously but as a bit of silly fun with some remaining charm it still can be enjoyable. I think an expanded Pain arc should have been the climax of the series, that was at least for me the climax. After it there where still interesting things going on but nothing has reached that “high” ever since, in my opinion.

I must say however that this is just my opinion, we all enjoy different thing. I am not saying my view is how it should have been and what is obviously wrong, I am only saying the things which made me personally have problems with the series.
