many of you, and myself think there was a decline in the plot of the series since obito was revealed to be tobi. honestly it does but doesnt ruin the story it was heavily foreshadowed, people were fixated on the idea it was obito for a while but then let their imagination go crazy after a long period of time so they were disappointed, im rewatching shippuden and if u watch the first time kakashi does kamui and when tobi does it it looks pretty similar those are things the writer intentionally leaves for the reader to pick up but we ignored it.

but anyway, what will it take for you to enjoy the series again?

i feel like this is just the beginning and a lot of craziness is about to happen. people are saying kishi's writer has apparently made him stall and push back shit idk if thats true... but if u think about it if obito does die and lets just say he does die right after he gets tnj'd and before he can do any good then he might as well have just revived madara w rinne tensei from the beginning and the crazy shit show would have started then, instead kishi stalled for 20 chapters. the time has come! it sucks that the "main villain" is now being casted aside for a reanimated villain that was the bad guy 100 years ago but trust me i really think itll be worth it and the story will get great again and then we have the arc after this dealing w sasuke itll be good

for me for the manga to make up for obito, kishi needs to make madara look bad ass and look much stronger than obito did, madara needs to actually really do shit that a villain is suppose to do, i wanna see a female character get killed off at least

i think what kishimoto is gonna do is make this part so good that he will make tobi being obito secondary to the story and write about madara for a while and make it very intense even tho the story had so much build up with tobi and then madara just came out of a coffin but then again madara is the brains behind obito's scheme so it is kind of normal for the remainder of the story to get based off of

and if the story does really drag on for a really long time maybe kabuto can come back and help some...

bottom line: dont give up on naruto (pun intended)

TL;DR

I don't think the plot is declining in interest. I've been on the edge of my seat since the beginning of the war.

dont get me wrong i love the plot even with obito id rather have had tobi been zetsu and madaras corpse combined but i mean if u look really really into it its a fantastic story but if u think of it very basically youre like wtf obito sucks this sucks now which is what the average viewer would do

i didnt ignore that warping ability tobi did.i knew, the very first moment kakashi`s kamui and tobi`s teleportation occured that there was something about it.

oh,and the fact that kakashi saw tobi`s sharingan meant a big foreshadowing

although i didnt think it was actually obito..later on i had a theory it was obito`s body but madara`s soul in him

so i kind of knew it was obito..in flesh if you know what i mean XD

i just feel like this whole thing being a war is unnecessary and the motives are a tad bit ridiculous. the evil bad guys want to put every1 in a good dream. really?? lol

I'll be waiting and hoping for something interesting every chapter until Rikudou Sennin is introduced. That's going to be the climax of this story as a whole.

The problem with Naruto is that it should be more of a monthly release now with LOTS of pages, since there is a lot of "big picture" progression going on that requires much less action than people would like.

I always go back 30-50 chapters and read right through them because the story makes so much more sense that way.

The story is headed for an ending, not another arc. Of course it's purely opinion based, but Kishi should end it soon enough. The story based quality has dropped dramatically over the last few years. I've been reading/watching for 8 years, and yes Naruto is a great manga, no doubt. Part 1 was brilliant, however, many things have changed.

What I loved about Naruto:
The humor was great. I could actually laugh, when I was reading it. Naruto screwing with Jiraya and stuff like that was really funny. However, the humor has vanished long ago - sadly...

The main character was the type of character, that needed to work hard for everything. Untalented, etc., but in the past 100 chapters, he has been been given so many power ups almost freely, it ruins his image. Yet Kishi chose make him appear as some stupid kid, with no brain at all in some moments. It doesn't make sense anymore, it's like he can't make a decision....

The villains. There is simply too little villains. We just keep seeing the same ones over and over again. It's time for some renewal, but that ain't gonna happen. Compared to other writers, Kishi rarely introduces new characters - lately. This has become a problem, since the same ones are boring in the long run.

Also there are so many characters that have been completely wasted - not to mention certain parts of the story, which Kishi suddenly spend time on, but they were absolutely meaningless. Suddenly he uses time on Bee's students coming to Konoha, etc., trying to make it a bit "funny" to read about, but it's so idiotic, and we would all rather have seen some more to K11...

Well there are several other issues, but I made my point...

My problem with where the story's gone is mostly the poorly thought out plot mechanisms, immature motivations behind the characters actions, and the OP techs and the constant cheap oneupsmanship going on. Ill give examples of each.

When we found out the nature of pain's technique, or why Asuma was burned when he ignited Hidan, it was ****erintuitive but it also made perfect sense. It wasnt forced. Naruto going from not being able to produce his own tech normally to mastering all these sage techs he hasnt eve been taught feels cheap and forced, and just an excuse to move the story to where kishi wants. It doesnt fit and it makes me roll my eyes.

Obito doing all this because he wants peace or because of losing Rin. Neither makes sense. Being that. I cant identify with his charate and it seriously lessens my emotional investment in the story. WhenNaruto went all emo after Jiraiya, it felt familiar it made sense I was ivested in the story. When he had his talk with Nagato his motivation and Nagatos both made sense. The talk with Obito makes no sense whatsoever. Doesnt make sense why obitos doing it, doesnt make sense that he would even consider backing down at this point.

Op techs. Its like reading Xmen. part of the allure starting out with this book was that the techs were all subtle, and they were rooted in ninja lore. For instance. kage bunshin was a real technique where ninjas would make doubles of themselves in trees or on roofs or what have you with shrubs, cloth, whatever, in order to escape or draw attention away from something. Controlling the elements those were real techs, they werent throwing fire but they would maybe shoot fire arows or make fires to throw shadows away from themselves, and those were katon techs. Just throwing lightning and fire around isnt interesting to me. Ive seen that a million times in other stories, I want to read something unique if its gonna keep my interest.

Discuss.

There's way too much BS going on to the point no matter what happens doesn't surprise you. It'll just be a "...okay...?" response.

No one ignored the signs that Tobi was going to be Obito. The first time I saw that Tobi had a sharingan Obito was literally the first person who came to mind. It wasn't until I started reading on these forums that I began to doubt whether it was Obito or not, because of peoples threads claiming it was impossible.

Honestly I don't think it was as terrible for the manga as everyone makes it out to be. People need to just get over it and move on. The manga is still enjoyable for me and I look forward to future chapters.

There's obviously going to be another villain besides Obito before the series ends so instead of complaining about how Obito wasn't good enough or didn't make sense just enjoy the manga and look forward to the future.

This whole manga is still on track, the main messages Kishi is trying to get out is, that Fighting doesn't solve everything, and why can't we be friends... or shit happens, we just gotta take the good with the bad, and make the best out of it. I feel like this is Kishi hidden message to us, the world isn't perfect, and there can't be no perfect world, we just gotta do the best we can.

I think everybody thought of him because it was the only other uchiha who had been talked about at any length besides madara. I think the idea of it being him was so lame and obvious nobody thought Kishi would be that simple. Turns out he was being just that simple. I think thats why people mark that as the turning point where the story started going downhill, because it was just stupid and uncreative. It was getting bad before then, it just hadnt gotten dumb. The whole ninja war was dumb though, all the rushed fights with nobodies, the konoha kids blowing through Akatsuki with ease, the frickin zetsu army crap, the change to OP techs from intimate and clever battles where the ninja outwitted each other to win rather than just overpowering each other with huge techs. Its been a dumb idea all around and the stories being told within it have been mostly uninteresting. The idea of suddenly deciding to wage war with zetsus against the shinobi world to draw out the 8 and 9 tails as opposed to just going to get them like they had done everyone else was dumb. It made no sense whatsoever other than to give the shinobi world a platform to confront Tobi and stop him.

I don't think there's a decline in the overall plot, the storyline is the only element that keeps me coming back. I feel the problem lies in the pacing, as since the war begun, everything from power-ups to even the plot has been considerably rushed resulting in a decline of quality.

It declined since the tobi reveal, but there's tons of material to work with (read my thread, there's a lot of stuff that Kishimoto could wrap up) so he can't let this chance slip like that, he has a lot of readers and he could exploit that to his advantage if he goes pro mode with his writing.

Obito being alive is a massive plot hole imo. I lost the hype and interest when Tobi was revealed to be Obito. I just read the chapters now to just see the ending because I invested my time from the beginning :(
