He activated them to fight. They were still communicating or able to speak. It was when he got Amaterasu that he stop talking ad was completely controlled.

He completely eradicated his personality after that point just to get the work done. What you initially said was that Kabuto didn't have any control at all which is wrong since he controlled his movements and only left him to communicate.

Kabuto didn't use Nagato to his full potential. Only Nagato himself can do it. He is much more familiar with the Rinnegan techs than Kabuto. A serious Nagato with full control is much much more dangerous than that Edo.

They are not kabutos jutsus so he can't combine them to be as effective as someone who has had it all his life.if you gave Naruto all of sasuke's jutsu he still wouldn't be able to utilise them as well as Sasuke
