For those saying Boruto manga is canon.

Man, people say the stupidest things. But this logic, nothing in the X-Men was canon after Stan Lee and Jack Kirby stopped writing it in the mid-60s. All the people going to see The Force Awakens also are idiots since it is not canon because George Lucas did not write it. Everything in the The Walking Dead must not canon after Frank Darabont left after season 1. But they all are canon. And so is the Boruto series since it is an official product that takes place in the same established universe and is produced by Shueisha. Shueisha owns Naruto and says what is canon. Kishimoto could not just go to another publisher and write/draw Naruto again. Shueisha owns all the rights to Naruto.

This is not the comics. Thats not how manga works. No ifs ands or buts.

Just like I don't consider The Last canon even though Kishi was involved in it.

People need to understand that the term canon, promptly doesn't exist for Kishimoto's home country. It's over here that the term sways itself. Since I'm from here, I understand roughly. We usually consider only the Manga canon, or what-ever Kishimoto does personally.

In Japan, anything Naruto related is canon. Though it's universally understood that fillers, aren't canon. I dunno why this point was brought up, considering fillers are used to fill up space between two points, usually done when an Anime reaches the Manga, but SP abuses this way too much.

The new upcoming Manga featuring the next generation, basically has Kishimoto's approval. He stated it in Jump Festa that he was done, but he was going to write/draw a Mitsuki One shot. The Boruto Manga itself, was given to two different people to take over. This isn't a Movie, an anime episode, this is a Manga. It isn't something you can dictate whether you view it as canon or not based on fan opinions. The only person that can say so is either the authors of the Manga, or Kishimoto himself. If you didn't already know Kishimoto gave the rights to someone else, in the lateral term (not as in handing everything Naruto to someone else), but giving the rights for someone to make a Manga from his own series.

What-ever happens, good or bad, doesn't change the fact that this is a serious series.

Yeah that's basically how it is.

Most people in Japan just take it as canon anyway, they don't have rules. You know bar the 'fillers' of Naruto.

It's a new series based off of the manga of a guy who work closely with the creator of the original work and his work is being supervised by the original creator. But because someone else's work is being continued by the creator's assistant and it will follow the timeline of the original manga we aren't going to consider it canon....

Well I haven't seen any of the actual artwork but from what I've been reading around the base, many are in agreement with you about the art.

That aside we should give this gentleman the benefit of the doubt. He is not Kishimoto so I wouldn't expect his art to look exactly the same or even on par (being Kishi's assistant an all) I can forgive this as long as the story is(and stays) compelling.

The art is shit no doubt but the main reason why I would not give this series a chance is cause at this point in time this is pure milking. Kishi stated two years ago that he has quit making the manga. Afterwards we see the movies plus gaiden and now this. Its like a never ending circle, purely ran for more revenue. There is already enough manga to read out there. There is no need for me to continue this series when the original is what I read it for. I mean I love Naruto as the next guy but I am not blind enough to admit that this milking is destroying its legacy.
