I think the notion of canon as authenticity is an interesting problem and hang up.
American comics are interesting and fun still even though there is no longer an authentic quality that centers around a specific creator.
X-Men is still cool even if Stan Lee isn't writing or the creator of Batman has been dead for decades but everyone pretty much thinks that Batman is still cool, and all of the rest of American comics in the mainstream (equivalent to Jump) don't have a "canon" anymore.
I suppose I have to question whether I am a Kishimoto fan or Naruto fan first, and I am comfortable being a Naruto fan first.
I just feel that there is a lot of enjoyable stuff to be missed if the fan base gets trapped in the loop of "authentic" and "canon".
This is too smart and well-written for this forum. You should have written TUGIUGKJGJKG Itachi HKHLKHKLH MinatoI think the notion of canon as authenticity is an interesting problem and hang up.

The author's direct involvement makes the canon status of the material less than questionable. I am still not sure why is there such a sensitivity on this front; first it was art, now it's the material. Pick and choose, folks.
kishi has direct involvement in storm games too.
he's neither writing or drawing this manga. I, like many people cant consider this canon.
That is a completely different medium.
Even if you consider it canon it won't make a difference in the quality being shitty. Which could easily make people turn away from the series.
Yep, I agree. All of us have already seen, that even canon story can be totally shit. I mean.. Obito being "Tobi", Hagoromo as a character, Madaras defeat, Kaguya, VOTE2, the movies, Naruto-Gaiden and now the new manga of Boruto will continue with this.
Is DragonBall GT canon?
Yep. Yepyep. Couldn't agree more.It could continue to be worst. Cause to me the newer generation will follow the similar formula as the past one. I much rather have one original story than make multiple copies of the first one. Its a tiresome trick used to get easy money.
Exactly this :lolI think people claiming it not to be canon are just butt hurt their God isn't directing the content anymore. It's simple, it's a Manga series that is canon, and it will remain canon unless Kishi decides to pick up where the last left off. Call it what you want, but at the end of the day, it's canon, no matter what you say.

Then it isn't canon :sdo: or at least not to the parts written by the creator directly.
doesn't matter honestly.
