i think senju had outside help from other clans i mean this was in the point of time when the senju was in the process of creating a village with the other clans only ones standing in their way was the uchiha. military power was to great. but no matter what uchiha and senju are two very elite clans.

The manga never said Senju was stronger iirc. They said only Uchiha/Senju can stand on par with one another and those 2 clans became known as the strongest. The scan that say Uchiha were inferior was due to their leader escaping to save Izuna(which people here take out of context.)
Tho overall the manga said Uchiha is stronger.

Well the fight between Madara and Hashirama was very close. And Madara had a shot at defeating Hashirama at the valley of the end with Izanami but he had something bigger in mind.
