Looks
Yoruichi Shihōin is a slender, dark-skinned woman of average height, with golden-colored eyes and long purple hair, which she keeps up in a ponytail. Her standard attire consists of a black, backless, sleeveless undershirt, an orange over-shirt with two white straps on each shoulder, a large beige sash around her waist, and black stretch pants with a pair of lightweight brown shoes, which allow for stealth. She previously wore a beige neck warmer, which she pulled up to cover her face in order to hide her identity, but seems to have forgone its use. She occasionally wears long beige wrist and leg warmers, each secured by bands. She, unlike most shinobi transforms into a cat using the transformation technique, this is also used for hiding her identity.

Personality
Yoruichi is intelligent and witty, holding an intimate knowledge of Ninjutsu and its workings. Although of noble birth, she acts differently from most other nobles, very much like Kaien Shiba. For instance, she instructed Soi-Fon to refer to her without using honorific suffixes, but reluctantly settled for being called "Yoruichi-sama". On several occasions, she transforms into her Human form directly in front of Ichigo just to see his reaction to seeing her naked, which she teases him about. In addition, she speaks in a dialect used by elders, such as identifying herself as "washi" (a term usually used by old men to define themselves with), instead of more feminine terms like "watashi", in both her Human and cat transformation form.
She appears to prefer spending most of her time in cat form. Upon showing her Human form to Ichigo, she forgot to put on clothes, as she had grown used to not needing them; due to being in cat form for so long. She especially takes delight in transforming in front of people to see their shocked reaction, due to her cat form making her sound male. Her love for her cat form extends to great anger should someone harm it or insult its appearance, as seen from how upset she got after her tail was damaged.
Although relatively calm and mature when a situation calls for it, Yoruichi is quite laid-back and playful, often teasing or flirting with those younger than her, such as Ichigo Kurosaki at the underground hot spring, a younger and hot-headed Byakuya Kuchiki, Soi-Fon before her time as a captain, and Kisuke Urahara, childhood friend, former underling, and fellow ex-captain. Yoruichi prefers to drink milk, which fits with her practice of transforming into a cat.

Background Info
Yoruichi was born into a noble family of sunagakure, though she was nothing like a noble and did not like being addressed with honorific terms. She later left her home and trained under a Sensei from the sand, she became a great taijutsu user and first learned the Wind element. Later she became a captain of a squad and made friends with another captain named Keisuke Urahara (-Tsuki) who was also peace general of Sunagakure. Urahara and Yoruichi became really good friends, probably best of friends over the time they worked together. Yoruichi's first student was Kuchiki Byakuya, training him in speed and taijutsu, she now teases him whenever she has the time to visit his village, Kumogakure.

Yoruichi's second student was Soi Fon, they both became really close and Soi Fon managed to become Yoruichi's second in command of her squad and learned nearly everything Yoruichi knew. Though later Yoruichi left her post as Captain and ran away after being framed for an incident she didn't do a long with Urahara and a couple of other shinobi, she went into hiding and mainly stuck to her Cat form using Henge no Jutsu.
A couple of years later a battle found it's way to sunagakure, it was in ruins and the attackers leader; Aizen was the last enemy remaining, Keisuke, Yoruichi and Isshin (another friend) ambushed him. Yoruichi and the other two tried their very best to hold of Aizen, but couldn't and had to retreat. A Shinobi named Ichigo later defeated Aizen. Yoruichi and Urahara's charges were then lifted, seeing as Aizen was proved to have been the one that framed them, and so they were allowed to live in the village once again; Soi Fon was still a little pissed that Yoruichi didn't take her with them.

After the battle Yoruichi was promoted to War General of sunagakure after showing excellence in strategy and so works along side her best friend Urahara once again, though this time she spends most of her time in the form of a Cat. She stays in cat form for two reasons only, to stop Urahara from staring
and because she really likes it.Yoruichi is able to use the Swift Kekkei Genkei, fulfilling her quest in becoming a great Taijutsu, Lightning and Wind user, she seeks to find a Swift Teacher.

Wind Affinity
Yoruichi's affinity to wind allows her to perform jutsus by using only one hand seal, giving her an advantages to wind over her opponents.

Yoruichi's affinity to lightning allows her to perform the techniques' handseal's a lot faster.
Taijutsu
Yoruichi doesn't use many tools, she likes to use her fists and she is very good with them. Her great skill in taijutsu has allowed her to become faster and stronger than most shinobi.
Tools
Yoruichi carries many tools in her ninja pouch, these tools include kunai, shuriken, ninja wire, scrolls for jutsu. She also has smoke bombs, flash bombs and explosive tags.
She also has these knives called Anken which she hides behind her clothes, there are also some where she can release at her opponent with a swing of her leg
Giant Shuriken
Yoruichi sometimes carries two giant shuriken on her back (Like how Mizuki did in the first episode) and she does like to use them against her opponents to throw them off.
