Yeah I'm actually getting a little tired of the lame attempts at drama these shows throw at us. The show is called Flash so trying to make us think Barry will die or stay crippled is stupid since we all know Barry pulls through.
The episode was good and next weeks is going to be great with Grodd seemingly getting a whole episode. I liked Zoom's portrayal but I absolutely hate HATE that stupid outfit choice. It's soooooo bad, that dumb weird Halloween mouth, the all black but not even a good shade. Terrible.so what did you think of the new ep damn it was hype for me, cant wait for arrow

That isn't drama that is them showing just how powerful zoom is.....also they know that we already know he will be fine since TLOT trailer shows he is ok.....also just because we know he will be fine, it means they can't hurt the main character??? what kinda BS logic is that?? thats like saying why do they even bother showing us the villain on top during the climax, we know the good guy will win at the end....SMH

No, it is drama, they throw stuff like that in for the casual/new fans who don't know the comic lore so they can get sucked into it.They could have shown how strong Zoom was by doing everything they did minus the paralysis, even breaking his back and allowing Barry's body to heal over a lengthier period of time and remove the fake bs drama of "will Barry stay crippled". Plus if they didn't throw that in for dramatic reasons then why was his paralysis brought up at all if not to make audience members ask "is he really crippled wtf?" It wouldn't have been an episode ending cliffhanger if it wasn't intended to add a sense of drama.
Beating the good guy and destroying him to a point of "will he get back up or not" is not the same thing at all. When a show ends an episode with their main character crippled or missing(presumed dead by in show characters) that's them attempting to instill a sense of drama to the viewer so they tune in next week and see the outcome. Example: When Ra's stabbed Oliver and he fell off the mountain; end episode. Most casual/new fans saw that episode and said "OMG they actually killed Ollie what's gonna happen now." Not everybody who watches Flash will watch TLOT so the trailer isn't a good answer.
Showing the Bad guy with the advantage is a good thing look at how they did it in season 1 but making your villain seem like he killed or destroyed the hero only used to work before people got wise to comics bringing back their cash cows. Now most(not all) attempts at character deaths or grave injuries seem trivial because they won't stick.
Also since I'm talking about it, one other thing has been bugging me a bit lately. They keep saying Wells' doppelganger killed Barry's mom and Cisco etc etc. but that's not true and they're supposed to be geniuses and can't understand the difference? We have Earth 2 Wells who made the partical accelerator in his world then we have Earth 1 Wells, he also made the partical accelerator and that is where it ends. See Earth 2 Wells is ACTUALLY HARRISON WELLS, Earth 2 Wells from the moment we knew him was EOBARD THAWNE. They are not Earth 1 and Earth 2 counterparts. Wells' Earth 1 counterpart was murdered by Thawne. So everytime they say "you're doppelganger..." Their talking about Thawne not really Wells, so it wasn't ever Wells' Earth 1 counterpart. Earth 2 Wells' doppelganger was murdered yet they're still skeptical of this Wells despite the real Wells having done nothing to them. It makes no sense, work it out writers.

1. I still think it wasn't much of drama but i do see where you're coming from also i am not the biggest comic book reader but it that still worked for me...not that it made me go "wow will barry never walk again?!?" but IDK, I personally liked it since that reminded me of all the times batman has gotten his back broken.....
2. That i can actually agree with....They keep giving Wells a bad name and rep even though he was genuinely a great person(unlike earth 2 Wells E1 wells seemed humble and nice IMO) and ended up getting murdered....they know this and yet still make him seem like the guy who murdered barry's mom....that bugs me as well
