Prepare one of the landmarks you own for immediate or future attacks (3)
Summary: Boa arrives at the shores of the five-point island. Boa would then further go on to claim the land for the clan and prepare defences for future attacks from enemies of the clan.

As Boa goes on heading towards the central area of the island. Before she goes onto walking into the island she takes a glance at how beautiful the reef's and the beaches of this island are. She then realizes that she's here to carry out the mission given by her new comrade Tsuna to claim the island and bring stability within the island. She takes a deep breath and starts walking towards to find any village within the island, seeing the mountains from the shore, Boa figured that if anyone was going to live on this island it would be near the Mountains. So she heads towards the mountains cautiously, keeping in mind that there might be undead zombies or such in the way of arriving at the villages.
She reaches the central area of the island. Which had a grassy field added with some greenery shrubs and woody vine. The field had smaller lakes which caught Boa's attention as she didn't see this kind of an island in her lifetime, considering she was always at one place before deciding to sail on and carry out her journey. She takes a rest under a shrub along with thick vines, even though it seemed like that someone else was here before she came. Nonetheless, She sits down gazing at the birds from above, flying above her, she keeps her guard up for a while before eventually feeling the tiredness of the sail and falling into a quick nap.
Boa wakes up after 30 mins, to the sounds of birds chirping and being near her. She then quickly gets up and marches towards the foothills of the mountains in order to bring stability to the island and protect it from the upcoming Undead Zombies. As she hikes along the foothills of the mountains she first hears a soothing sound. She stops to determine where the soothing echo is coming from and quickly realizes its from the mountains, she then moves towards closer to where the soothing echoes come from.
As she moves she notices a medium-sized village, as a relief that her search has come to end she sighs and goes on to the village. She arrives at the village’s gate to see people engaged in their daily activities as she would have expected she walks slowly inside and takes a look around the village. While walking and observing the place from the streets before acting on anything, people quickly start to stare at her as they know it’s a foreigner from another land. Boa ignores it and walks proudly giving a death stare to everyone who dares to look at her. She then finds herself in front of the building named “Town Chief’s Office”. She takes a step back to analyse the place correctly and prepare herself for the worst once she goes on inside.
She steps to the doorstep of the office and knocks on the door. To her surprise, the door is opened quickly and standing in front of her is an old man wearing a khaki underneath with cowboy boots and a white shirt with a name tag “Chief of Ekō Yama”
The chief goes on to look at Boa and notices her beauty and ask her with a smile
“Hello, there young lady. My name is Kuroko, who might you be?... You are certainly not from here what business do you have here?”
Boa sees that the old man is nice and smiles back at him acknowledging that she means no harm as well. She responds
“I’m Boa Hancock of the New Dawn, I came here to help out the village for the upcoming undead zombies, which you have heard of right? if you will let me carry it out. I would like to set up defences around the villages and claim this island under the name of our clan New Dawn”.
Kuroko then nodded to Boa’s response and feels relief as the village had been attacked by pirates and others in the past and looted from them. Kuroko then goes on to say
“It would be our pleasure to join your clan, if you can build up defences and improve this village overall, I’m sure the villagers would agree with us as well. You have the authority of this village handed over to your clan now Boa Hancock of the New Dawn.”
As Boa listens out to Chief Kuroko and says
“We will bring stability and peace to these lands once more, Thank you for having us”.

Chief Kuroko signs Boa to come with him to the next building where there’s a small stage set for public announcements. Boa follows him into there as they both go on to the stage. Chief signs the alarm for the public announcement, as the citizens here, almost everyone comes out of whatever they are doing and gathers near the stage. Where the citizens see a beautiful young lady standing proudly. As the majority of the town comes by, the Chief gives the loudspeaker to Boa. Boa keeps calm and looks at everyone then says into the loudspeaker:
“Warawa, Boa Hancock of the New Dawn, has reached an agreement with your Chief to claim this land on behalf of our Clan the New Dawn, allowing us to bring stability, peace, nd prosper among this Island”.
The citizens seem shocked at first, but then go on to cheer Boa and support her and her clan to claim the island. As they will feel much more protected and safe
After the announcement, Boa goes on to walk with her pride and heads towards where she entered the village. She then analyses that this would be the entry to the village and where there should be utmost defensive importance. So without wasting any more of her time, she works towards the entrance in a fast-paced walk.
As she arrives at her spot she then easily makes tools with a single hand seal of Earth to make various tools from earth to use to set up the defenses near the gate of entry. These earth tools are going to help her lay tripwires around the gate for making it harder for undead zombies to storm into the village. She sits down and takes the wire and uses her katana on her left hip which then along with the earth release technique she used helps to bury the tripwire over dirt and make sure it's stuck inside the ground. So she starts carrying the tripwire around the village's walls at leaving only one entrance to for others to enter the village and that's through the village gate. After setting up the wire’s surrounding the entire village on the foothill of the mountains she then continues to use her chakra put paper explosion tags inside the ground near tripwires she setup. She goes onto put 20 paper tags, 10 in the ground and 10 in rocks near the village as the village is located on a rocky mountain.

After making sure that the tripwire and paper explosion tags are placed properly well and in strategic places of where the undead zombies might or pirates might come to harm and raid the village, Boa heads to the gates of the village where she intended to create the most of the defenses that should be held. Arriving there she carries out to do the single earth single hand seal and use a trap technique which allows her to place a scroll infused with her chakra in the ground. This allows Boa to make up to 3 Mud Wolves which comes in contact with enemy targets on contact with their chakra. ACT I: THE SILENT POINTS

Chapter I: Where the Island Whispers

Missions:

  • Steal Valuable Information (Relic/Artifact) from the enemy (A-rank / Custom)
  • Fight an enemy stronger than yourself (A-rank)
Coming from: https://animebase.me/threads/hokurikudō-island-133.756146/page-2#post-22155933

Giyu arrived on a small wooden boat that had been painted black as to blend into the darkness at sea. The boat swayed gently in the water as he approached Five Point Island. The low hanging mist danced across the water as he came near the shores, as he stopped rowing. He pulled a single piece of parchment from within his haori and unfurled it, opening the light from his hooded lantern just enough for it to illuminate the parchment in his hand. His eyes darted across the page, taking in whatever was given to him in that moment. Just as he finished reading it, he crumbled it up and threw it in the ocean, watching it soak in water and seaweed, before it dissolved into nothing.

A few moments later Giyu pulled the boat through the sand beach near the most northern point of the island, placing it between a couple of rocks near the cliffside. He used nearby rocks and the cliff shadow to break the silhouette of the boat, while piling driftwood around it, and throwing seaweed and kelp over the hull and reeds bent over the boat to cover it and make it look like a combination of debris and seaweed that had washed ashore.

From there Giyu draped himself in a cloak that was a mixture of black and greys, allowing him to slip through the darkness of the night unseen, as he moved across the underbrush of the forest. He avoided all signs of civilization; roads, the sound of people and carts in the distance, and above all he avoided the light of the moon through the trees. As he approached the cliffside to the western shores, light from a nearby town illuminated the shores below. He crawled up to the edge overlooking the town.

The town was overlooked by a watch tower on either side of the cliffside, with a single road leading down to the wooden palisades and the gate. The bonfire in each watchtower indicated to Giyu that there was at least one archer in either tower watching over the town, ensuring its safety. Further below he could see multiple guards at the gate and patrols walking through the street. The place was well guarded for a town of this size, the information he was given was certainly helpful, they were clearly hiding something here. At the far end of the town overlooking the sea stood what looked to be a local shrine, lit up from within. That was Giyu’s destination.

Giyu slithered through the mist toward the watchtower overlooking the harbor of the town, the mist disguising his approach as he blended into it, utilizing chakra causing his body to become the mist. His body became a ghostly white vapor as he moved through the mist like a river cutting across the earth, and as he arrived at the tower he used a grappling hook flung upwards and wrapping around one of the beams at the top of the tower. Just as he reached the top he leapt over the edge silently and saw the archer overlooking the town, he was wearing leather armor and fur beneath it to keep himself warm, yet he would not need it much longer. As the guard exhaled, he would feel a sudden sting through his armpit and in through his heart, as Giyu had created a compressed blade of water that vanished almost as quick as it had pierced the man’s heart. Giyu caught the man and placed him on the railing, using rope to tie him up to create the illusion from a distance that he was still standing.

Just as quickly as he had scaled the tower, he vanished down the tower and into the mist. He snuck through a crack in the palisades, a place where parts of the wooden spikes had sunk and collapsed into the dirt and sand, and he moved through the reeds. As he came near the ship that had anchored at the harbor, he saw its name; The Minotaur. A ship rumored to transport secret artifacts and relics of the past. Giyu figured he would return here shortly.

He continued as he summoned a small dark green toad, allowing it to swallow him whole, masking his presence from the eyes of those who sought to protect what was hidden in the shrine. The toad jumped through the streets, the dirt, between reeds, rocks and stone, until it leapt into the water, swimming along the shore to the edge of the shrine, where it spat him out just outside the shrine. As Giyu appeared, he tapped the toads head once as it disappeared into the water, as he jumped onto the terrace of the shrine overlooking the sea.

The shrine was lit by sconces, yet it was empty. Even from the terrace he could see that the shrine held no treasure, no relics, and nothing of interest. He noticed the dust lines from where objects and crates used to stand, but was no longer anywhere to be found. Giyu stood against the doorway, glaring inside. Where could the relic be?

Just as he thought that, he saw an individual walk inside, a robed man, his dark grey hair and wrinkles indicated his age, and the emblem on his chest that he followed the Deity known as Tiamat. Without hesitation, he snuck through the doorway, his body sliding against the wall as he leapt at the man, and as he was about to hit him, he turned and Giyu slammed him into the wall drawing his katana holding it against his throat.

”Where is the relic.” Giyu said calmly, his eyes devoid of emotions as he awaited the mans response.

”I… I… I don’t know what you are talking about… who are you?” His voice cracked, his eyes showed fear but also a hint of an attempt to hide the truth.

”I’m not going to ask you again… cultist.” As Giyu said these words, his blade began to slide across his throat, cutting partially through the skin as a few drops of blood began to trickle down. The man became frantic, he grabbed Giyu’s hand tightly. ”I… it’s in the Minotaur… but you will never get it… our savior is protecting it.” His voice was filled with reverence, as he stared at Giyu, his frantic face turned pale as a grin crossed his face. ”You will never…” Before he could finish the sentence Giyu severed his head, knowing this man was a traitor to humankind. As the body collapsed, he wiped the blood from his katana and retrieved the talisman from the monk's body before he turned and ran through the doorway and leapt over the edge of the terrace into the sea.

Giyu appeared on the deck of the Minotaur, as he crawled over the railing and landed with a low sound of his shoes thudding against the cold wood. There was no sign of life on the deck. He snuck across reaching the captains quarters, the door was locked. No matter, Giyu caused water to flow into the lock before using heat to expand the water into steam causing the lock to heat up and break from within. He snuck inside, allowing the door to close behind him.

Giyu stood up to his full height for the first time since arriving on the island, allowing himself to somewhat relax, as he looked around. The captain's quarters had a desk at the far end overlooking windows that looked out the back. On the right side a weapon cabinet, a table with chains and blood stains, as well as two barrels filled with what looked like blood. On the left side there were chairs and a few shelves adorned with books bound in rich leather. Giyu perused the books, noticing that most of them spoke of the divine, and most of them were books of worship. He quickly moved to the desk, looking through the parchment that laid there. It was filled with maps, navigational charts, a dossier of everything onboard the Minotaur, a list of where it had been and a list of places where it was meant to go. Giyu packed them away in his satchel and moved to the metal safe that was embedded into the wall to his left. He did not initially notice it but from behind the desk it was clearly visible. Just like with the lock on the door he broke it using water to expand and break the inner workings of the safe, causing the door to pop open.

There it was, the artifact he was told about, The Shattered Orb of Tiamat. It looked like a fractured sphere, about the size of his fist. The cracks were glowing with a faint shifting purple watery light. He grabbed it, it felt unnaturally cold and heavy in his hand, as he put it in the satchel. As he closed the safe, a voice rang out from within the room. ”Do you like scrimshaw?” The voice was low and baritone, a raspy voice. Giyu turned quickly to see a figure standing in the doorway, partially cloaked by the darkness within the room, but he could see the sword in their hand, made of bone, engraved with what looked like runes.

”Not particularly…” Giyu responded, his hand sliding to rest on the hilt of his katana.

”You know it is a beautiful art, perhaps I will use you as my next canvas” The being in front of him said, as wings unfurled behind it, blocking the exit.

The angelic being flashed forward at an ungodly speed, its blade flying through the air, and just as it would slash Giyu’s head from his shoulders, Giyu dispersed into water and reformed as four individuals, blades drawn immediately slashing from four different directions.

Yet, neither blade would strike true, as the angelic entity twirled around, its wings creating a dome around it that released feathers of bone out, spiking into the walls and slashing past Giyu, dispersing his water clones in an instant. Giyu was flung against the wall, tumbling over the barrels, causing them to crack and collapse as blood spilled over him and the floor.

Before Giyu managed to stand and get a foothold, the angelic being was already at him, slamming a right kick directly into his ribs, sending him crashing against the desk, tumbling over it, cracking several ribs as the glass behind him cracked from the force.

He quickly managed to stand, as the angel kept coming, it flew over the desk swinging its blade. Giyu barely managed to duck under it, as he generated water from his katana in a torrent that tore through the angel's right wing, tearing it from its host. The angel tumbled across the floor before standing. ”How dare you sever the wings of the divine!” He slammed his blade into the floor. The floor lit up as chains of pure white energy flung from the ground ensnaring Giyu, burning his skin, as the angel approached. ”I’m gonna enjoy turning you into my new blade.”

Giyu’s skin began to sear from the intense heat as the chains closed in around him, and the angel lunged. Giyu caused the chains to stumble to the ground as he turned to mist flying out of them directly at the angel, turning back to swing his blade. The two blades collided, as Giyu was pushed against the wall by the angel, its blade driving into his left bicep, tearing flesh from his bones. He held back a cry out in pain, as his katana dropped to the side.

The angel pulled the blade and dragged him across the ground, as Giyu used his legs to push off and leapt at the angel, infusing his leg and slamming it into his face, drawing blood as the jaw partially broke. Yet it did not flinch, nor did it move, instead it grabbed Giyu by his leg, slammed him into the ground, picked him up and smashed him against the windows at the back of the captain's quarters.

”I’m going to take back that seeing stone, and then I’m going to strap you to the table and tear your flesh from your bones.” The angel grinned as he readied his blade.

Giyu looked around, as he was trying to figure out a way out. ”You will never have the chance.” Giyu said as he realized something, recalling the dossier. He released his chakra into the ship, through the floor and into the hull as he black powder rose within its hull, out of sight and out of mind. ”But I will send you to your goddess… tell her I’m coming”

As Giyu finished speaking, the angels face turned from a grin to horror, as the entire Minotaur erupted in an explosion that rocked the town and island, flames and a shattering shockwave caused the entire ship to splinter into nothing, its cargo destroyed, Giyu sent flying out of the glass and into the sea, the angel torn to shreds by the explosion, only its sword and hand clenched around it was left with him, as he plummeted into the water.

Giyu would rise from the water half a mile away from the town, the smoke and fire could still be seen in the distance, as he dragged himself ashore, with the bone sword by his side. He wrapped it in cloth and tied it to his backpack, as he stood, and pulled the papers he had found on the Minotaur.

Chapter II: The Still Lake Doctrine

Missions:
  • Kill the Baptizer of Depths (A-rank Custom)

Giyu had wandered inland, through the forests, navigating through the thick underbrush, and across rocky terrain. He was following the map of the island he had taken from the Minotaur, and it was leading him toward the center of the island near the largest mountain. He could see it, its peak rising into the sky, the top covered in snow, while the remaining part was almost black and covered in trees, with plumes of steam rising around it from steam vents and hotsprings.

Dawn had just come, and the rays of the sun barely licked the mountain side as he approached the central lake system from the map. Multiple lakes and rivers cut through the area, converging near the base of the mountain. The steam rolled above the trees as he walked between the golden aspen trees, its leaves golden and gently swaying in the wind. Giyu hears the sound of people in the distance and immediately he drops through the dirt, instantly merging with it as he slithers through the ground and approaches the hotsprings.

At the edge of one of the large pools of hot water, Giyu rose behind the rocks that encircled it, hidden behind brush and stone, he watched. Among the reeds, and in the trees, he observed, as he saw robed individuals with symbols of Tiamat patrolling the hot spring grounds. They were wearing their divine belief openly. He saw the floating lanterns in the water, and noticed chakra seals along the perimeter. It seemed it would be impossible to enter the grounds undetected, or so Giyu thought.

He spent several hours observing the grounds and the perimeter, and what he noticed was the so called cultists wore talismans, and they seemed to be used to entering, as it did not trigger the warding. Perhaps that was his ticket to get inside, all he needed was to retrieve a talisman.

Towards midday, Giyu noticed two cultists outside the perimeter, they seemed to be walking and talking, they were too far away for him to hear, yet he climbed the nearest tree and approached from above. As he came closer, he heard them speak of a champion, and of someone they called the Baptizer. Before they moved on Giyu dropped from above, his katana and his tanto sliced through their necks and their spine, causing them to drop dead instantly. He quickly dragged them into the bushes and hid their bodies. He took one of the cultists' robes and mask as well as their talisman and disguised himself as one of them.

As he approached the hot spring, he adjusted his chakra level to the point of being invisible, he mimicked the posture and walking pattern of the other cultists and as he walked through the gateway he almost paused, waiting, as if the ward would be tricked. Yet nothing happened.

Giyu moved among the cultists as if he was one of them, his head constantly bowed, his posture matching those around him as if he had walked these grounds a hundred times. He carried with him a ceremonial bowl, he adjusted prayer cords around the hot spring, and he stood patiently at the edge of the spring as steam rolled across the stones, licking his face. From beneath the hood he had “borrowed”, his eyes were watching the Baptizer of Depths, the priest who was wading calmly through the spring, tending to all the initiates, granting them their own prayer beads and having them drink from a bottle of an unknown substance. At one moment while Giyu was watching, a guard lingered too long near Giyu, his gaze narrowed as if sensing something amiss, his eyes scanned Giyu and around him. Giyu responded without hesitation, lowering his eyes and murmuring a fragment of a ritual script he had overheard some of the other cultists say earlier, while looking over toward a group of trembling initiates who had just arrived. The guard scoffed and turned his attention to the initiates as he moved on. Giyu remained still, as he continued to observe.

Giyu moved among the robed initiates and members without drawing anyone's attention, his posture was lowered and his pace matched everyone else's. Whenever the higher ranked members delegated tasks, Giyu accepted them without thinking, carrying offerings to the shrine, adjusting lanterns, standing silently and waiting where he was told. The heat of the hot spring all around him created a thick fog in the air, and the constant prayers heard in the air was building up inside him, it was annoying. Giyu gradually managed to get closer to the Baptizer, watching him from nearby, as the priest guided the initiates into the water, his hands glowing faintly with divine energy that flowed through the spring.

As the ritual continued in the hot spring, Giyu began to reposition himself, slowly he drifted closer, each time the chanting rose and fell. The baptizer began to dismiss the initiates one by one, sending them to dry and pray along the gardens. He aired until only the priest remained at the heart of the spring. Steam curled thickly around him, cloaking his shape and softening the sounds of the water and surroundings. Giyu stepped into the haze, his body and presence masked by the heat and vapor, closing the distance, walking silently until he stood just behind the divine priest, close enough that the Baptizer could feel the water shift, but not close enough for him to realize it was too late.

Steam rolled across the water and stone as Giyu took one final step forward toward the divine pries as he let the robe slip from his shoulders, revealing his full attire and drawn katana. Giyu’s hand was already moving at this moment, as steel flew forward in a flash, aimed for the Baptizer’s neck, his blade flying so fast that sound could only follow its motion. The priest twisted his body at the last instant, as water surged up from the spring around him creating a living wall between the two. Giyu’s katana struck the liquid instead of flesh, the impact causing an explosion outward in a hiss of vapor. The priest turned, his pale white eyes locked onto Giyu’s, shock was on his face but instantly turned into hatred and anger, as the priest's divine energy rose and the lake began to rise in heat.

”How dare you interfere with our Lady’s work, heretic. I will purge you from this world.” The priest said, as Giyu stood resolute, his sword by his side.

The Baptizer slammed both his palms together and the water around him began to rise, beginning to create layers of water shields that rippled like glass. Giyu was already on the move after being pushed back by the water explosion, his sandals skimming across the water as if it was solid ground. As Giyu made his approach multiple jets of boiling water shot towards him, and geysers erupted below him, sending him flying or making him have to weave and slide beneath the jets, a few of them he passed through scalding his skin on the way. A single torrent lashed out from the Baptizer’s arms like a whip cracking through the air, catching Giyu mid jump and hurling him into the rocks. The stones cracked under the collision, as Giyu became more bruised and battered. As Giyu slammed against the rock, he rolled across it and coughed just once before he vanished into the mist, as the next whip of water tore through empty air.

The water rose violently as shapes clashed beneath the steam. The Baptizer regenerated almost instantaneously after being cut by Giyu, flesh knitting itself together as if an invisible needle was constantly sewing him back together, with divine light glowing from the wounds. Giyu continued to slash through water, skin, flesh, each of them held true and each one continued to carve away at the priest, yet he kept regenerating. Suddenly while Giyu was slamming down on the last water shield between him and the priest, a whip of water pulled at his leg, dragging him beneath the pond. The sheer heat and boiling of the water burnt his skin, as his eyes opened, the intense heat hurting his eyes, but he would rather see than be in the darkness. Giyu held the blade as he twisted in a tornado stance with water and wind blasting the water outwards in a sweeping arc and in an instant he rose to the surface behind the Baptizer. One of Giyu’s hands formed a seal, as the lake surged upward and instantly collapsed inwards, crushing them both down into the water.

The Baptizer was held beneath the water by Giyu, he was thrashing, bubbles tearing from his mouth as divine light flickered and died beneath the pressure of the water flowing into his lungs, while Giyu held tightly around his throat and drove them both deeper into the lakebed. His katana sank quietly into the chest of the Baptizer, as his body stopped twitching and sank quietly to the bottom of the hot spring, swallowed by reeds and shadow alike. A few moments later, the surface of the hot spring stilled, steam drifting lazily around as if nothing had ever happened.

As the hot spring was sprouting steam that lazily drifted across the surface, Giyu had yet to surface, the water protecting him from above. Shouts echoed throughout the hot springs from the cultists who rushed toward the disturbance, torches flaring and reflections shattering across the lake. However, Giyu was already gone at this point, he had slipped between the reeds and submerged stone where the light was unable to reach him. By the time the cultists reached the spring, only disturbed water and drifting steam remained. Far beyond the hot spring, in the forest Giyu walked, moving through the foliage until he was beyond sound and sight, as he continued to walk through the forest.

Chapter III: Hymn of Hollow Stone

Missions:
  • Eliminate the Cultist Enforcer (A-rank Custom)

It had been several days since he infiltrated the hot spring, he was now sitting in the forest between a bunch of trees, a few bushes with berries nearby and a small bonfire hidden away beneath a canopy of branches to mask its light. Giyu was drawing circles in the dirt, while thinking of where to go next on the map that he had retrieved. He knew there was a forest road not far from his location, maybe ten to fifteen minutes, carved between a stone outcropping and a dense forest. While he was sitting there eating some cooked noodles and chicken, a raven landed on his shoulder.

He noticed the small parchment tied to the ravens leg, quickly taking it an unravelling it he read through the intel. Scouts report a convoy coming your way, valuables onboard, take care of the cultists leader. Giyu crumbled up the parchment and burnt it in the fire before he gave a few berries to the raven, before it flew off.

Giyu extinguished the fire, and covered his tracks as he once more moved through forest, his footsteps left no trail, and the sound of his feet were muffled by the wind that carried a faint chanting from a convoy ahead. As Giyu came to a over looking ridge of rock and stone he crawled to the edge overlooking the road. From there he could see five wooden wagons reinforced with metal and at least fifteen cultists, all of whom seemed to have spears or swords. The center wagon seemed to be a prisoner transport, and at the front a single individual walked, hunched over and cloaked. Most certainly their leader.

Giyu decided this would not be the place, he quickly dashed ahead, and after running for perhaps an hour, he found the spot. a ridge and a river on the opposite side. He could use the trees to make a blockade and scare the horse into the water. He prepared a trip wire crossing the road between the ridge and the riverside, and hid on top of the ridge overlooking the road awaiting the carriages.

As the wagons approached Giyu he could see the guards walking in couples along the wagons, while the hunched over figure had moved to the center of the convoy. They signalled one another through whistling and hand gestures. They moved through the uneven road, slow but steady. As they get nearer, Giyu can hear the whistling sound coming from the hunched over figure, and he notices the ever so slight hint of a weapon concealed beneath the cloak. It seemed as if most of the men walked in tandem with him.

Giyu triggered the explosion that caused an avalanche of rock and stone that immediately fell down blocking the road, and caused several of the horses to panic, running and dragging the front wagons into the raging river. At the same time Giyu had waited for the opportune moment where the wind rolled through the trees creating a heavy rustle that masked his appearance at the rearmost guard, they slumped over instantly as Giyu stood behind three cultists, their heads rolling across the road. He continued, vanishing into the underbrush of the shallow water and reeds, as his chakra permeated the the raging water and shot up needles that struck the carts and the cultists along the water causing them to drop like flies. He flashed past a couple of guards as their torsos were split in half, as he hid behind a cart and pressed his palm against the earth. A thin film of water spread beneath the convoy’s final wagon, creeping into the wood and iron and with a sharp muffled crack followed as the axle gave way, causing the wagon to lurch and collapse. The cultists were no more, except for the enforcer whom had dropped his cloak revealing his figure.

The enforcer was an arali, or an angel so to speak, also wearing the symbol of Tiamat. Their wings were golden and they held a massive warhammer in their right arm, wearing armor that gleamed in the sunlight like a golden hue. ”If you are here for the gold, you better be ready to pay with your life. The angel said as he turned to face Giyu.

”I’m not here for that, I’m here for you” Giyu said as he stood calmly before the angel.

”Well… prepare to die for your sins then… and meet the others who tried to remove me!” The angel got low and burst forward, its wings unfurled as the warhammer swung forward.

The moment the weapon swung through the air, a sound like a whistle followed behind it as cracks of lightning and light flowed with it. The impact never came, yet the thunder and lightning cracked and tore through the air and caused the ground to shatter beneath it. The trees in the distance wavered and shuddered, bark split and the leaves flew away like a wave. Giyu twisted his body to the side just in time, the ground where he had stood just a moment ago collapsed inwards like fractured stone. Giyu moved at a speed that caused him to skim across the ground, as his chakra bled from his body and into the surroundings, as he crashed into a tree from the sheer push of the shockwave. He used it to immediately push off and swing his sword in crescent arcs that sent waves of water at the enforcer who blocked it with his golden wings. His arcs of water seemed to do no harm to him.

The enforcer straightened his back, lifted his head as his voice echoed out, it was not a shout but rather a hymn that he began to sing as he walked forward toward Giyu, with every step the ground cracked beneath his weight. The stone and roots withered and was pushed away, as he kept on moving towards Giyu. He leapt into the air, and the river beside him became heated, steam rising as the river began to lose vast amounts of water, as he came down, his hammer slamming down with a thunderous crack. Giyu instinctively causing a dome of water to form around him that softened the blow, as ripples of the force was dispersed and Giyu sprang from the dome slashing in a spiralling spinning top that tore into the arms of the enforcer, shredding their skin and he kicked off landing several meters away.

Before Giyu landed the enforcer was already on him, the hammer striking him directly in the stomach causing him to cough out blood as the thunderous crack send him crashing into several trees that collapsed with the force. His muscles were seizing as he tried to stand. The enforcer again appeared before him, he moved faster than Giyu thought he could, as the hammer came down and Giyu vanished in the last possible second as the hammer tore a crater in the ground and Giyu appeared behind the angel. But before Giyu could strike, its wings smashed him away, as he rolled across the dirt before gaining a foothold.

Giyu stood as the water rose around him forming into a water dragon whose tail twirled around him protectively, as he erupted forward blasting into the angel full force as the dragon bit down on him, the wings cracking under the pressure as he was sent crashing into the river, as Giyu appeared before him slashing his chest and kicking him into it, and the angel vanished into the water.

Giyu stood for a moment at the riverbed, staring at the water before turning away. Just as he walked toward the wagons, the angel blasted from the water, hammer in the air, ready to strike down Giyu once and for all. And in that moment Giyu’s blade flashed as several copies of him took his place sending a domino effect of slashes through the arm that held the hammer until it was severed and the hammer fell to the ground. The angelic being cried out. ”How dare you sever the hand of justice… I’ll kill you!”

Giyu did not answer the angel, instead his chakra flowed into his katana turning it red hot as steam rose from it and mist twirled from the river creating a thick mist, and as he stepped into it he was swallowed whole from sound and sight, and he stepped forward. The angel staggered back, its golden wings beating uselessly to try and push the mist away, only for it to choke on the watery air. In a single fluid motion, Giyu appeared within arm’s reach, his hand snapped forward with his blade, it tore through the mist and through the angels neck, and the sound of the hymn dissipated. The angels eyes widened in horror, its mouth moving soundlessly, and before its body could even fall, its head slipped free and vanished into the mist, the body collapsed soundlessly as well.

Giyu walked through the wreckage of the convoy as smoke, mist and blood filled the air and ground. The remaining cultists were either dead or had already fled the scene, scattering through the forest. Near one of the shattered wagons, Giyu rummaged through and found what looked like a sealed packet wrapped in wax and cloth. It was marked with the sigil of Tiamat and the crest of Kaneko Castle, a deep maroon seal from the castle that lay at the southern tip of the island. Inside the parchment he found the orders written in a precise and cursive hand writing, detailing supply movements, purification schedules, and the direct commands issued from the castle itself. It was clear to Giyu that the island was being commanded by someone who resided in the castle and they had to be removed for the island to be free from angelic influence.

Chapter IIII: Veins Beneath the Crown

Missions:
  • Kill the commander of the island (A-rank)

Giyu stood at the edge of the forest, below the hills toward the southern sea along the cliffside stood Kaneko Castle, it was rising above the town that laid before it, like a crowned spine of stone, banners snapping in the wind. As Giyu walked into town he did so cloaked in his midnight hunters cloak. He could see nobles moving freely, guards laughing, and servants passing by with their heads bowed. Merchants were trading from around the island and nearby islands. Nothing seemed wrong our out of place here, if only it was not observed by Giyu that every guard had the symbol of Tiamat embroidered on their sleeves, and in the distance he could hear the bells ringing from the church. As he moved through the streets he saw the old water runoff channels and drainage routes leading beneath the outer grounds of the castle.

Giyu slipped through into one of the nearby taverns; The Old Crook, moved through the kitchen and out the back, wherehe slipped unto the outer grounds under the cover of darkness and the cover of routine, blending in among the servants as he had disguised himself with their attire of white shirts and brown pants, a napkin over a shoulder and his head lowered. When the lanterns along the walls dimmed and the guards began to grow complacent, Giyu slipped from the crowds and took to the rooftops, he climbed the wall with his grappling hook he had hidden in a satchel on his person. He moved along the roof tiles and beams with careful footsteps, as to not disturb anything.

As he reached the entrance of the roof of the castle, he slipped to the edge of the castle where he slipped in through the water channels, letting the cold water swallow him, the sound and scent masked by the water. His passage through the water channels were only marked by temporary ripples that quickly dispersed.

When he finally entered the inner sanctum, Castle Kaneko, he quickly found a servant and knocked them out cold, hiding them in the closet as he assumed their identity and began moving through the castle unseen. Nobles, guards and members of the cult paid little attention to him, afterall he was no more than a servant. He spent time learning, listening, separating who were complicit and those wo were essential to the cult’s foothold on the island. The Scribe, the Keeper and the Signaler. He mapped out the grounds in his mind, decided who to ignore, and who would have to be removed.

The scribe was the easiest target for Giyu to find, yet hardest to get close to. He never left the archives, he was a pale figure that was hunched over and sitting beneath hanging lamps. He spent time endlessly copying names that were never meant to be read aloud. It took Giyu a while to enter the archive, and he waited among the shelves as dust drifted through the air, his breath was slow. It was when the scribe stood to find another ledger, that Giyu decided to move. He retrieved his tanto that had been strapped to his leg without a sound, the blade was guided beneath the jaw and into the base of the skull in a single precise strike. The scribes body never hit the floor as Giyu caught it and lowered it gently to the ground behind a false shelf panel. He sealed the panel with parchment and wax. By the time that Giyu was done disguising his actions, the archive semed unchanged, except for the pen that would not be used again.

The Keeper was more dangerous and more difficult to approach. The corridors and the room he was in was lined with wards, and the main knelt inside in constant meditation, hands brushing his prayer beads as sealing tags lit up within. Giyu approached by using the flow of water and turning to mist, vaporizing his body only to appear within the inner sanctum. For a moment, the Kepper’s eyes snapped open, suspicion all over his face, and Giyu flet the wards light up. Giyu lunged, as his tanto flash, cutting both his hands clean off, followed by opening his throat in a single cut. The wards flickered out of existence, as Giyu dragged the body into a hollow maintenance alcove and broke the seals from within. If Giyu had hesitated or waited a second longer, the entire corridor would have been filled with screams of seeing the body of the Keeper.

The Signaler nearly caught Giyu. He was perched on the highest tower balcony, and worked alone. He adjusted the lantern shutters to flash coded signals into the night. Giyu approached from the outside, climbing the exterior stone as rain pettled the roof and walls. His fingers were going numb from the climb, his cloak was soaked. He timed his ascent to the top between the flashes of light, and when Giyu finally reached the balcony, the signaler turned too soon. Giyu rolled inside and onto the balcony as a shout caught in the man’s throat. His tanto had pierced the signalers lung to steal the sound of his yell, followed by Giyu leaping onto the man smashing him to the ground as he drew the tanto and pierced his spinal cord around his neck. He used a rope to lower the body of the signaler into the open air below, where the sea would claim him long before dawn. Giyu then vanished into the castle once more.

Giyu moved through the corridors unseen, and he found the passage by listening rather than searching, he found it almost by accident when he heard the sound of wind and creaking behind a wooden panel. Beneath a shrine on a wooden floorboard, a hairline fracture in the altar’s base revealed wooden staircases and floorboards that could be moved. Giyu broke the floorboards a part, until everything shifted and allowed him into a narrow descent spiraling down into the bedrock. As he walked down through the corridor the air grew colder and the walls were no longer shaped but carved from the rock itself, leading him into a hidden room, it looked like a chamber of worship and an office.

Within the chamber he found lantern light that flickered and moved unnaturally, an office carved from stone, its walls lined with a desk, multiple racks of scrolls, and a map that was pinned to the stone wall with pitons. Giyu rummaged through the correspondence letters written in a cipher, it seemed formal, almost written as if someone wrote in reverence to someone else. There were orders of hunting heretics, maps of five point island marked with symbols identical to those etched into the bodies and armor of the champions he had previously slain. There were lines drawn between ports, villages, networks, supply routes etc. It was a logistics network and it did not only span the island, it spanned to the mainland of the land of fire and the snow covered peaks to the north.

At the center of the room at the stone table, Giyu finally found the truth of what was happening. Stacked papers of orders authorizing the deployment of champions to the island, relic transports, and civilian purges carefully written as accidents for the public, either as disappearances, fires, drowning and other means. Each document was marked by a sickle and no name. There was no champion, no priest, no individual on the island who bore that name or title, yet every command and decision was granted by this individual. However, the documents seemed to originate outside the island, from the land of fire, and each document seemed to be made approved without question. Someone commanded the people on this island, someone who was above the cultists, above the soldiers, and followed the gods. Giyu closed the ledger and placed it in his satchel with all the other evidence.

The lantern light dimmed in the room, as if commanded by an unseen hand.

The light was not snuffed out, and the shadows in the room grew elongated.

”You seem to cut quietly,” a voice rang out in a low growl. ”The Scribe. The Keeper. The Signaler.”

Giyu turned slowly as a man stood at the entrance to the underground office. He looked like a robed administrator, and his face was forgettable by design. Perhaps Giyu might have even met him or seen him in passing before.

”You were watching.” Giyu said, his voice gave away his curiosity.

”I managed,” The figure said. ”The island is my body and you severed its nerves… I have to correct that.”

Giyu’s hands clenched as he placed one foot in front of the other. ”You are not human.”

The figures shadows stretched unnaturally as wings unfolded behind him. ”Arali…” the angel said with the calmest of voices. ”I am the Custodian of the Sickle Ledger, one of five to be exact.”

”Then I guess I have found the artery of this island!”
Giyu met the mans eyes.

The angel moved and closed the distance in a blur, its feet crushed the stone beneath its weight, as it threw its right palm at Giyu’s throat. Giyu with a single step slipped inside the strike, as it brushed across his shoulder as he slammed an elbow into the angels ribs. As his elbow struck, it felt like it struck iron, as pain shot up through his arm.

Giyu immediately pivoted and with his right leg slamming it into the Arali’s leg, causing them to collapse on their own weight, followed by a low kick meant to shatter its knee. However, the angel twisted its body mid fall, catching itself with one hand, lashing out with a heel kick that caughtGiyu in the jaw an sent him flying across the room striking the stone desk.

The angel came at him full force its fit flew down on him like a hammer. Giyu managed to roll out of the way as the foot slammed the ground cracking stone and sending debris into the air. Giyu used the roll and twisted his body to leap up at the angel and drove a fist into its abdomen, then another, then a third, targeting joints and pressure points.

The angel answered Giyu’s attacks by grabbing him by the wrist and slamming his body into a nearby stone pillar, causing it to crumble under the force as Giyu was tasting his own blood.

Before the angel could follow up and let go of him, he hooked a foot behind its ankle and yanked, breaking its stance and pushed off slamming a knee into its ribs and forcing it into the table.

However, the angel recovered fast, pinning Giyu with its arm around his throat, crushing it. Giyu’s eyes narrowed until he slammed his head into it, one two, three times. The third strike cracked its nose, and it reeled back from the pain allowing Giyu to slip from its grasp. He grabbed an iron quill and drove it into the angels thigh.

The angel roared and ripped it out of its leg as it backhanded Giyu across the room, slamming him into the wall, as he could hear several bones crack from the impact.

The angel lunged, as Giyu inhaled to stabilize himself. Giyu moved as the angel was striking, his body turned as the arm slammed into the wall and Giyu slipped behind it, hooking his arm around its wing and pulled. There was a wet tearing sound as the wing tore off. The angel screamed and spun, slashing wildly, one blow caught Giyu across the shoulder tearing muscle.

They continued, trading blows at point blank range, elbows, knees, headbutts, stone cracked beneath them with every movement. Giyu was bleeding heavily, and his vision was blury. Yet the angel was faltering.

Giyu pushed in between its arms and drove his shoulder into its chest, slamming it against the wall and he then drew his tanto and drove it deep into the base of the angels abdomen, as blood and guts spilled. The angel shrieked in agony.

Giyu did not hesitate as he grabbed the collar and drove it face first into the stone pillar, multiple times until the angel slumped over.

”You said arteries bleed,” Giyu said quietly as he pulled the angel upright.

With one clean motion he used the tanto in an arc across the angels neck, severing the head from th body . The body collapsed where it stood, its last wing twitching and the head struck the stone floor.

Giyu stood alone in the dark room, bleeding, bruised and broken, he held the tanto as he made his way out of the room.

Chapter V: Passage of Severance
Missions:
- Amputate the Ferryman (S-rank)

Giyu had spent several days making his way across the island to the western shores, for he had carried with him all of his past endeavours and relics and tools of those Arali he had slain. He had returned to the shore from whence he came, and there he found no hidden boat, it had been removed days ago, as the tide had removed any footprints or evidence of activity before his arrival. The wind rustled the nearby trees and the sand and dust was picked up in small twirls, there was no sound of seagulls, only the gentle sound of the water lapping against rock and cliffside. He stood there for a moment as he gazed upon the rising sun, as he knew there was a port nearby where he could attain passage to the other lands to the north.

However, what Giyu did not anticipate was the sound of a low humming bell ringing out in the distance. He turned to see a figure walking through the low hanging mist of the morning, swinging what looked to be a bell attached to a chain, and a lantern on the other end.

As the figure approached, Giyu immediately clocked the black wings on the figures back, another Arali, but Giyu thought he had removed them from the island.

As the figure came into the light, its eyes shone like two pools of golden amber, its teeth sharp like a piranha’s and its lithe figure swaying as it stopped a few meters from him.

”I have been watching you… killing my children… ruining the plans of my father… and now I have to right your wrongs, or face judgement.” The bell was still humming in the wind.

”You face judgement from your father or me… I see no difference, except I show no mercy as I sever your head.” Giyu said as he glared at him, one hand resting on his katana.

”By the waters that shape the world, by the stone that bears witness, let my hand strike true. Father, guide my wrath, and let the impure fall beneath the weight of your justice. I am your voice, your blade, your will made flesh. None shall escape the judgment I bring.” As the Arali finished its prayer, its head bowed for a moment. Just as it did, it swung its Kusarigama in a straight line toward Giyu. Giyu managing to duck under it as he pushed into a stance reading to dash forward. Yet before he could do so, he felt something, his muscles tensed up, his body unable to move, he heard the sound of the bell.
The Kusarigama retracted, Giyu was smashed into the sand, sending a cloud of dust and sand into the air, as his body refused to move. The bell, it paralyzes me, Giyu thought to himself in that moment, as he felt a crack in his shoulder. The angel leapt into the air swinging the bell down upon Giyu.

Giyu was frantic in that moment, his hand tight around his katana. Move! he thought, and just as the bell was about to strike, he puffed into a cloud of steam that rose above the bell, as he appeared in front of the angel, his katana screaming from its blade, slashing at the angel. However, as it connected with the angel, the angel bit down on the blade, shattering it in pieces, as he sent a side kick into Giyu, sending him flying into the cliffside, scrapping his skin from his back as he slid down.

Giyu’s head snapped up, looking at the Arali walking toward him, its confidence striking, as the Kusarigama was swinging. His blade had been shattered in an instant. The Kusarigama was swung once more at him, this time Giyu the bell released what seemed like a shockwave of sound blasting toward him. Without thinking, he performed quick set of hand seals; Water Release: Water Encampment Pillar, and the water from the sea, mist, and surroundings quickly gathered around him, creating a dome around him, ricocheting the sound off of it. The water around Giyu quickly formed into a bullet in front of him and was sent flying at the Arali.
The Arali swung the Kusarigama in a circular pattern, as a beaming light erupted, and without a second thought, the water evaporated into mist.

The Arali’s amber eyes looked through the mist, and within a second the eyes vanished, as it moved faster than Giyu’s eyes could follow. With a sudden appearance, it swung the Kusarigama in a horizontal arc. It was so wide, it shattered the trees in its path, with splinters flying through the air like shrapnel. Giyu barely managed to twist his body out of the way, but the chain whipped back with perfect timing. It caught and wrapped around Giyu’s left arm with a violent snap. Bone cracked, and a gush of blood poured down his sleeve as he staggered back, gripping the side of his left arm. The angel did not wait, as it leapt high into the air, its swings unfurling, letting out a shriek that could be heard miles away. The wind from its wings tore at Giyu’s cloak, as he stepped back.

The Arali dove from the sky, its Kusarigama slicing through the air, each swing sending shards of rocks and splintered wood flying at Giyu. Giyu’s left arm was throbbing violently and in pain, but his eyes did not falter from the angelic figure. He was reading its movements, anticipating it. As the chain whipped toward him in a downward arc, Giyu vanish into a sudden puff of mist, reforming behind a jagged rock, just as the Kusarigama sliced through empty air, the bell slamming into the sand with a heavy thud. The Arali’s eyes flicked back, a small hint of surprise, Giyu thought as he saw its confused face, and it lunged with an unnatural speed, twirling through the air as it beat its wings, flying at Giyu.

Giyu used the moment from the air and water, as he dashed forward, as he formed a slick wave beneath his feet that shot toward the Arali obscuring its vision with spikes of water. The Arali covered its front with its wings, But Giyu had appeared to its side, having grabbed the broken blade, as he jammed it into its side, piercing its lung, while cutting open his own hand. The Arali cried out, while partly gargling as blood filled its left lung, as it turned smashing its fist into Giyu’s face sending him sliding across the beach with a grin on his face.

The blood was almost golden in colour, and the angel’s dark form began to glow with the blood that flowed from its wounds. The Arali cried out with a deafening roar as it let go of its Kusarigama.

”I told you, I would kill you.”]/I] Giyu said, panting, barely able to catch his own breath.

The Arali’s eyes flared with an intense fire, as it flashed forward like a living firestorm. Its fist flew forward like a hammer. Each blow that struck Giyu hit him like a tidal wave. He felt his ribs, shoulders, and legs being struck, sending him tumbling across the sand and scraping him raw against the rocks. A single kick from the Arali sent him flying into the air, his body spinning uncontrollably, he barely managed to see himself hit the ground, just managing to release a wave of water from his palm to soften the blow. Just as he landed the Arali was there again, as a dome of water formed around Giyu, cushioning the impact of its leg. The dome shattered and Giyu was tumbling back.

Each strike, each kick, forced Giyu on the back foot, however with every roll, jump, or tumble, he managed to form pillars and shields of water to absorb some of the force, richocheting the force away from him. He began to notice the Arali’s movements slow slightly, as it was loosing blood and bodily function of its lung, each swing of the Arali shattered the ground.

The Arali refused to relent, refused to stop, as its rage was burning, but now there was a faith sheen of sweat across its face, while its wings were fluttering unevenly. With a single burst of speed it appeared beside Giyu, its fist swung toward him as fire burst from it. Giyu rose a single pillar of water between him and it, yet the pillar evaporated from the sheer heat, as the fist connected with Giyu’s jaw, and with an explosion sent him flying into a tree. The pain excruciating, as it flowed through his skull, sending a spray of blood from his mouth and teeth. He rolled across the ground. Despite the agony, he scrambled to his feet, tasting copper on his tongue. He looked at the Arali, and saw its fatigued body, its breathing was heavy, but it was still lethal, each strike could crush his bones.

Giyu spat blood onto the ground, his jaw throbbing with pain, yet a grin was smeared across his face. ”Is that all you got? Father’s children, father’s will… They all crumbled just like you will! The Arali’s eyes flared brighter, wings snapping violently around it. Its fist ignited with scorching energy, as it moved faster than the eye could follow. Giyu tumbled back, raising multiple water spikes like a barricade, but the sheer force of the incoming Arali drove him back as the water spikes shattered. Giyu’s ribs cracked with a brutal punch, and another sent him sliding across the sand, gasping for air. Blood ran freely, as his am hung uselessly at his side. Yet he managed to twist under a punch as he used a wave of water to redirect the punch upwards shattering into the cliffside.

The Arali’s final blast forward was a blur of claws, fire and the crushing force behind its fists, and a single downward swing designed to end Giyu’s life. Giyu, saw his opening for the first time in the slowing movement of the Arali, as he himself let himself fall with a roll, just as water from the shore erupted beneath the angel, spalsing up into its eyes. In that moment, Giyu’s remaining strength was pulled up into a single strike, as he held onto his broken katana, as he drove it into the Arali’s chest, piercing its heart as he staggered from the crushed leg and broken ribs. The Arali tried to scream, blood gushing and wings faltering, its hammer like strikes were no more. With a sickening, wet crunch, Giyu snapped its head off with a clean kick, as golden blood flowed from its neck.

Giyu fell to the sand, panting heavily, broken and bleeding, but victorious.

As he was lying in the sand, his eyes were fixed on the rising sun. He drew the yang energy into himself, letting it flow through his broken bones and torn muscles. Warmth spread through his body, stitching wounds and easing pain. While each ray of sunlight felt like it was restoring his strength, slowly.

It had been interesting to see from a distance. This one was quite unique in their battle sense and their determination left Akira smiling under his mask. He'd remained hidden, watching, waiting. As his foe fell to the sands below, he decided it was time to introduce himself to the one laying exhausted. Jumping from the trees he landed on the ground a distance from the one before him.

"That was quite the spectacle," he mused. "I wonder what feats you'll achieve in the future. I wonder how that beast you hold within will respond to your will, your destiny, your hopes, your dreams."

He wanted to see what the boy would do. He could feel that they were trying to heal themselves after such an intense battle.

He wanted to see what the boy would do. He could feel that they were trying to heal themselves after such an intense battle.

Giyu's breath was ragged as he was lying on the edge of the beach near the cliffside and the trees. He could feel the sand in his hair and the water gently lapping at his legs at the high tide. He did not look up at first, as he heard the thud and the approaching footsteps, the warmth of the rising sun still clung to his skin, bringing a gentle warmth. He could still feel the energy flowing through him, but his body was still screaming iin protest whenever he tried to move. He could feel the pain of his broken ribs, and his left arm was lying limp, his fingers slightly moving in the sand. His right hand tightly gripped the hilt of his shattered katana.

"So..." Giyu said, his voice raspy, slowly turning his head in the sand, just enough for oen eye to catch the masked figure who had approached him. "You watched the whole thing... and now you decide to step out."

Giyu felt that life was slowly returning to him, as he glared at the mask. Who was this stranger, and why did they decide to approach now.

"you sound like you know what's going on with me..."Giyu continued, his voice low and worn. "I don't even know whats going on with me..."

He finally pushed himself to his knees, blood dripping from his chin, staining the sand between him and the masked man. He was trying to read the man, trying to figure out who he was, he had not let go of his broken katana, in fact his grasp had tightened as he looked up at him.

"If you came here to finish what that thing couldn't" Giyu snarled, followed by a slow exhale, "Then you picked the right moment I guess..."

Giyu paused, his eyes never wavering from the figure.

"But if you aren't here for that... then tell me why you were hiding from me... while an Arali died at my feet... and why you are revealing yourself to me."

He still had a little bark to give, yet no bite. Not that they could see it, but this left Akira smiling under his mask. This one would be just what he wanted for his future plans. For now they weren't ready. He could tell that. They were a vessel. One that was split. There was no harmony within them. No. The power of the beast within was still hidden from them. He was too soon. That didn't stop him from gauging the personality of them.

"It wouldn't be fair to step between you and your.... guest," he mused looking over at the fatally wounded demon. "It's a shame you are a fractured being." He said stepping closer. "That within you is more than you could possibly hope to imagine. Even in your state now, the fact it remains within you tells me the seal must have tremendous strength."

He walked closed so that we was next to the young man looking down upon him.

"Finish you? No. That wouldn't serve any purpose. Nor would it prove a challenge based on the state you're in. No, I think instead it's time you met what's within you."

In that moment, chains from Akira's hand shot out binding his foe's body from his head down. As they bound him, Akira's right eye spiralled red as locked eyes with the boy. In that moment, they found themselves both within the mind of the boy faced with a bound beast. One of the 9.....

( Mazo no Kusari ) - Demonic Statue Chains
Type: Supplementary / Offense / Defense
Rank: S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description: A technique derived from the Outer Path, which manifests chakra chains to bind anyone who touches the user's chakra receivers. This binding power is far greater than Nagato's Outer Path. The chains have a cursed seal which suppresses the power of the tailed beasts and cause a great deal of pain to the victims. The Gedo can extend the chains from it's mouth and/or body to complete bind and restrict their targets. With the cursed seals on the chains, the user can not only bind their opponent physically but spiritually as well, similar to the Uzumaki clan's chains. Techniques that would otherwise allow the victim to escape the restrictions such as summoning techniques and other space/time techniques would be incapable of being used. However, in order to invoke any of the properties of the curse sealing on these chains, the victim must be impaled with the user’s or the statue's chakra rods. The exception to this are the Bijuu, since their chakra once originated with the Gedo Statue. If these conditions aren't met, then the chains are nothing but a physical ninjutsu with great power to be used for offensive or other purposes. The shinobi controlling the Gedo is capable of using this technique, extending it from their hands in various sizes. However, only those with adequate skills can make use of the sealing properties of the chains.
Note: The Gedo can utilize the sealing nature of the chains, but in order for the summoner to be able to use, he will have needed to have completed basic Fuuinjutsu.
Note: The Mazo can use this to forcibly seal Bijuu within their bodies if they maintain the hold of the technique for 3 turns. The Bijuu must be first released or the user must take an additional 2 turns to extract it from their person.
Note: The chains can be broken with same rank elemental chakra or Forbidden rank raw chakra. Bijuu Jutsu and techniques are ineffective against these chains as well as if the victim is under the constraints of the curse sealing properties. If they destroy or remove the rod from their bodies, the sealing will be broken and the chains will only be physically binding.
Note: To break the mental/spiritual binding of the seal requires a yin natured or spiritual jutsu of equal rank and power or higher.

( Doujutsu: Sharingan ) Eye Technique: Copy Wheel Eye
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C - A Rank
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15 - 30 ( -5 per turn for 1T and 2T, 10 per turn to keep active for 3T )
Damage: N/A
Description:
One of the Three Great Dōjutsu (San Daidōjutsu), the Sharingan is the kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan. Unlike the other Dōjutsu, not all members of the Uchiha Clan possess the Sharingan. This great Dōjutsu seems to awaken only on exceptional Uchiha members and only in times of great stress. Once awaken, the pupil turns red and a single tomoe (巴) seal appears around the center pupil. As the user masters and evolves their eyes, the tomoe (巴) seals increase, topping 3 per eye. The main ability of the Sharingan, like any other Dōjutsu, is to enable the user to see the flow of chakra. This ability is further improved as the Sharingan gives color to chakra, enabling the user to differentiate chakras from different people or from different sources. Although the user can see chakra through matter, he cannot see beyond dense matter or in long distances. Coupled with the ability to see chakra, Sharingan users gain acess to an incredible clarity of perception that enables them to read insanely fast movements or minor details, enabling them the ability to foresee in an easier way, traps, incoming attacks, etc. This clarity of perception is so great that a Sharingan user can sometimes start performing a counter to an attack that is still being performed, enabling the counter to be launched only a split a second after the attack. This clarity of perception leaves Sharingan users able to track high speed movement easily as well as to read through handseals. This last ability enables them to learn techniques much faster and sometimes copy them directly from the enemy, as long as the user has the necessary chakra affinities and requirements to perform it. Finally, the Sharingan is often linked to Genjutsu and mind-manipulating illusions, mostly because the user can, mostly through Eye Contact, directly and precisely use his chakra to manipulate the enemy's chakra flow. In return, the users clarity of perception gives him the ability to more easily decipher visual illusions cast upon him and see past them. The Sharingan has a great cost to the user though. The chakra consumption disables its use for long periods of time and, even when the user grows stronger, it's still hard to keep it active for long periods of time.
Note: The user, if he hasn't gained full mastery over his Sharingan, will need to spend a move to activate it, although as long as he has chakra and enough stamina he'll be able to keep it active until the end of the match. If the user is Sannin Rank or above and has gained his 3 Tomoe Sharingan and held it for one month, he becomes able to passively activate it, meaning he'll no longer spend a move of his 3 per turn.
Note: To avoid direct Eye Contact and be able to focus only on the body movement below the chin, the opponent needs to have mastered Taijutsu to possess the necessary skill
Note: C rank usage is for 1T Sharingan, B rank usage is reserved for 2T Sharingan. A Rank usage is reserved for 3T Sharingan.
Note: Predicting the nature of a technique or what it exactly is requires the user to either know the technique or that its a cannon technique.
Note: Danzo and Kakashi bios activate the Sharingan by removing the covers in their respective eyes and suffer a +10 chakra consumption per turn penalty
Note: The user is bound by the abilities and limits of the stage of sharingan he possesses, stated in the rules of the KG.

( Doujutsu: Mangekyou Sharingan ) - Eye Technique: Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye
Type: Supplementary
Rank: Forbidden
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 50 ( -20 per turn to keep active )
Damage: N/A ( -5 per turn )
Description: The Mangekyo Sharingan, literally meaning "Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye", is the highest known form of Sharingan, said to be feared as the strongest form of Sharingan. Awakening MS requires the user to have possession of 3 Tomoe Sharingan and to witness or simply go through some extremely dramatic emotional event. Upon this event, the user awakens MS. The most noticeable MS users gained it by witnessing the death of someone important to them, sometimes by their own hand. Once activated the appearance of the pupil drastically changes, differing from the tomoe seals, and gains a shape unique to each user. When active the user can track speeds even further beyond that of the third stage sharingan. The timing of the users counters, the chaining speed of multiple techniques and the ability to see through the enemy's moves greatly increases. Not only that but the user gains the ability to see through visual illusions A-rank and below. The link to Genjutsu is further increased and, if the user has gained full mastery over Genjutsu, he gains the ability to cast genjutsu without the need for Handseals as long as he has a line of sight to the target. Also, the Mangekyo Sharingan gives the user access to powerful and forbidden techniques, unique to each user. Extended use of the Mangekyo Sharingan after some time, deteriorates the user's eyesight to the point of blindness. The chakra cost is so high that it drains the users stamina and chakra at increasingly high speeds. Once the side effects of it's use take place, the user is left blind and unable to activate his sharingan. While keeping it active is already quite hard, the user will drain the time he can keep it active at each MS technique he uses. While some can decrease one turn, others can decrease even more.
Note: The user needs to have activated his 3T Sharingan beforehand
Note: Can only be activated twice, requiring a 2 turn coldown to activate again
Note: Lasts a maximum of 8 turns for the first activation and 4 turns for the second
Note: After the first activation wears down, his eyes revert to their normal appearance and the user can't activate his sharingan for 1 turn
Note: The first activation drains the users stamina and leaves him tired, while the second activation leaves the user blinded and almost unable to move if he doesn't deactivate it before the time ends
Note: To avoid direct Eye Contact and be able to focus only on the body movement below the chin, the opponent needs to have mastered Taijutsu to possess the necessary skill.
Note: Predicting the nature of a technique or what it exactly is requires the user to either know the technique or that its a cannon technique.
Note: While active, as long as a clear line of sight and the range is respected, the user can cast normal non-Doujutsu Genjutsu without the need for handseals. However, Doujutsu illusions still require eye contact (if feasible) or their own requirements; this ability only affects regular Genjutsu.

( Doujutsu: Genjutsu Sharingan ) - Eye Technique: Copy Wheel Eye Illusion
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: C - S
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15 - 40 ( Equal Cost for Each Additional Turn Sustained )
Damage points: 30 - 80
Description: This broadly refers to a range of genjutsu performed with the Sharingan. It has also been shown to be performed through the Sharingan's higher evolutions: the Mangekyō Sharingan and the Rinnegan. By establishing eye contact with a target, the Sharingan user traps them within a sustained Genjutsu of the user's creation. Sharingan Genjutsu are stronger than other Genjutsu, being difficult to break in comparison due to the sinister chakra powering them. When utilized through the Mangekyo Sharingan, these Genjutsu are enhanced and deal an additional 40 damage. However, the time dilation effects and similar effects/ability of Tsukiyomi and custom variants cannot be replicated through these illusions. When used through the EMS, these illusions deal an addition 50 damage. In the case of Supplementary and none damaging use, these Genjutsu can be exploited for one of various purposes, such as: causing temporary paralysis in the target, forceful extraction of information, relaying memories, removing Genjutsu placed on the target by others, and controlling a target's actions. Controlling a target's abilities in limited to Summoning and other none Creation/Ninja entities. The 3 Tomoe Sharingan can forcibly controls Basic and Ancient Summoning's actions as long as they sustain this technique. MS can affect up to Mythical Contracts while EMS can effect even Legendary Summonings. This control is limited to the ability to control their physical movements with limited access to their ninjutsu, using only skills related to the Summoning itself.

In the event of Bijuu, Mangekyo Sharingan users are able to use their MS to cast powerful enough Genjutsu that even Tailed Beasts cannot break their hosts from it, being ensnarled as well. These Genjutsu can also seize control of a Tailed Beast by temporarily severing its connection to the host without the need for eye contact. If the Jinchuriki has not entered any Chakra Shroud state or higher, the user can cast a powerful Genjutsu that severs their connection and prevents access to the Bijuu as well as any of it's skills for 3 turns. Should a Chakra Shroud or Incomplete Jinchuriki transformation occur, the user is capable of preventing full access to it's Bijuu Skills for 3 turns by suppressing it. This presents itself in an inability to utilize the Tailed Beast Bomb variants, a Bijuu Skill such as Sand or Coral as well as access higher transformations. Should the user have EMS, this control is extended to blocking access for double the time and should a Complete Transformation occur, the user is capable of suppressing it's form and ending the Transformation in it's entirety and forces the health drawbacks to trigger as well as a reduced max health and chakra by 25% from fatigue. However, Bijuu Suppression can only be done by sustaining the technique at the cost of 2 moves per turn and prevents Sharingan Genjutsu for 5 turns.
Note: While powerful, the effects of Sharingan Genjutsu only last while the user actively sustains the technique, preventing usage of other Ninjutsu at the same time. This indiscriminately prevents the use of chakra in other techniques outside of basic Taijutsu only.
Note: When used in the NW, this can be used to tame a wild Tailed Beast and allow the user to summon it in an enraged state for 4 turns, only being capable of using Sharingan and non chakra enhanced Bukijutsu during this time, Ninjutsu being barred while controlling the target. This beast is summoned at max powers and has access to it's Skills and one Bijuu Pathway, determined through Official Roll in the NRP Discord. This ability can currently only be done by Madara Uchiha in the Ninja World.
Note: Can only be used once per turn. MS and EMS use can only be done once every 4 turns.
Note: Requires Eye Contact and activation of 3 Tomoe and higher Sharingan.

[Note: Mimicking when Sasuke entered Naruto's inner world and saw the kyuubi]

Giyu’s consciousness faded from the shores of the Five Point Island, as his vision was ripped from him. Yet it took no more than the blink of an eye, as Giyu opened them once more.

Giyu was standing in an endless prairie that stretched endlessly, a surreal blend of tall grass that was rippling in colours that shifted from sun gold to impossible greens and violets, as if the land could not decide on a single colour or season. A swollen red sun was hanging low across the sky, unmoving and casting long red rays of sunlight, crooked shadows were bending through the reeds. A large fence made of barbed wire cut through the fields, the iron thorns blooming with faintly glowing red flowers, while massive trees bloomed around an enormous hot spring.

Each fence post was glowing faintly with seals that slowly faded in and out of existence, to the beat of his heart. The air was thick with steam from the hot spring, rolling across the prairie and through the fence just before reaching Giyu.

”What is this place…” Giyu let out almost as a whisper.

He walked toward the fence, the pain was absent, his body felt normal, but he felt as if something was watching him.

Suddenly two massive blue eyes erupted from within the steam, as an enormous form took shape. At first it looked like a writhing mass, but as the steam slowly subsided, a gargantuan horse-like being appeared, horns on its head and five tails.

”Took you long enough… Giyu… you have endured more than most,” the beast said, its voice deep and even as it let out its breath causing steam to ripple out from the fence. ”That earns my acknowledgement of your presence.”

The fence creaked, and almost bent against its form as it used its horn to scrape along it. Giyu felt his body tense up.

”You… you are the reason my body never feels empty… why I feel as if I am always being watched.” Giyu stood with confused eyes.

A low rumbling sound followed, laughter, the beast was laughing at him. ”I am the reason you are still breathing,” It smiled it seemed. ”And the reason you have not yet burned yourself to ash!”

Only at that very moment did he notice that he had subconsciously moved closer to the fence, and yet he also felt another set of eyes upon him. As he turned around, he saw the familiar masked entity watching. The masked figure was untouched by the presence, and Giyu looked at him with great confusion.

Giyu turned around to face the beast once more, to see one of its enormous tails had snuck between the fence posts slowly curling around Giyu, not touching him, but encompassing him. While the beasts eyes shifted to the masked man.

”And you… you are not the vessel.” the rumbling voice carried past Giyu to the masked figure. ”But you are the one who rang the bell… You are the one who let him in.” The beast looked both surprised but also angry.

The beasts presence suddenly changed, the tails raised behind it, as steam rose, the air around them became heavy, hot, so hot to the point where it might become unbearable.

Giyu turned to the masked man. ”You brought me here?... you dragged me into this? you did this to me?” Giyu was no longer looking at the beast.

The beast turned its gaze back to Giyu. ”No, he simply removed the veil between the two of us… and perhaps now I can be free.”

Giyu looked surprised, confused even, the fence groaned against the weight of the beast. ”You have killed angels and bled for it… but to be allowed to feed off of my power any longer… I won’t allow someone who lets anyone into their mind… let alone someone who can’t even slay a simple Arali control me…” The beast caused geysers to erupt blanketing the area in steam to their knees, the prairie disappearing beneath them as the ground turned into a massive hot spring pond beneath their feet.

”Kneel, and I might let you live boy… and after I am done with you… I might even consider looking at the one who brought you here.”

Giyu instinctively reached for his katana, yet it was not there. He looked over his shoulder to the masked man. ”What is this… some kind of insane test. I won’t let someone like you bring me down like this.” Giyu finally said.

It was as he thought, the boy had no clue about the power that dwelled within him. Clearly he hadn't chosen to become one of the 9 Jinchuuriki. Instead he was naive. Even now he seemed to have no clue what calamity he was stood before.

"This is what resides within you." Akira spoke wondering how the boy would react.

He listened to the beast speak with the boy, yet he knew what was happening. The beast was sealed away, he needed an out. The only way to do that was for the boy to release it here and now. The beasts words were enticing. Yet, this was getting slightly dangerous.

The tails of the beast crept through the barricade towards the boy. It was time to intervene. As the boy reached for his sword, he was pulled back away from the cage and the tails of the beast landing on the flood. Stood next to him Akira still in that inner world.

"You're not ready boy. That things will would crush you in an instant and we'd have a repeat of the fall of Chungsu on our hands." He cast his eyes down at Giyu. The red intensity of the sharingan showing how serious Akira was. "You're weak. You're no match for the will of the five tails. You'll be lost in it's power just like you're lost now. Have you even sought to seek a connection with it? Do you even know it's name? Do you really think a sword will help you here?"

He waited for his words to sink in before casting his gaze to the beast. "This boy isn't your tool. You'd be wise to seek to find harmony within him if you don't wish to be bound within the Juubi once more." As he spoke his rinnegan glowed for a moment. His point clear.

Steam rolled low across the prairie, yet instead of becoming denser at enveloping them all, the steam began to thin, until the water around Giyu and the masked man’s feet became glassy and still, allowing their reflections to look back at them. The red sun above had dimmed slightly, as though a veil of steam had been draped over it, and the wind died out altogether. Even the seals on the fence posts had slowed down and almost vanished.

The beast regarded and looked at the masked man for a long time. It did not move, yet its expression was unchanged.

”You speak as though strength is a gate someone simply opens… you of all people should know better.” said the beast calmly, as it stared directly into the eyes that had flared momentarily with the Rinnegan. ”You know the cost that you had to pay for those.”

The beasts gaze lowered to Giyu, and the world began to slowly be enveloped in steam once more, yet this time, the heat was calm and it felt more as if someone had enveloped you in a warm blanket. ”You believe you are weak,” the beast continued, its tone had turned a polite manner, almost as if it was about to give him instructions. ”That belief has kept you alive for this long… but not for much longer.”

The water around Giyu’s feet turned clear until the reflection shot up at him with memories; memories of every split second where fear tried to swallow him whole, the moments where survival came not from skill but from the sheer stubbornness to refuse to fall before someone. Every moment in which Giyu had hesitated, followed by steam rising from his blade, his body overheating, gentle nudges, signs of the beast seeping through.

”You mistake your ignorance for humility… and your own survival for restraint… but in reality by ignoring me… ignoring the world around you, you are not really taking responsibility for your actions.” The beasts voice rumbled as one of its tails moved, tracing a slow arc through the air. Wherever the tail passed, ripples of heat followed as grass flattened into scorched earth, then it reformed again as if nothing had happened.

The Tailed beast turned its head slightly, its eyes glaring at the man that stood beyond Giyu. "you interfere so boldly for someone who stands on borrowed sight... and you threaten chains you yourself once were bound by before those eyes belonged to you." The seals along the fence glowed violently and bright as it kept the beast at bay. "But you are correct about one thing... If I wished him broken, he would already be ashes!"

The Five-Tails exhaled slowly, steam flowing from its nostrils like a cloud of heat, its massive head tilted toward the masked man. "Yet you drag him here all the same, you tear open the veil between us, call him unready, and still place him before my will." The water begin to ripple, as if an earthquake was occuring within this world. "So answer me this, bearer of borrowed eyes. Do you seek harmony for him, or are you merely testing whether he breaks before he is useful?"

The beast turned its attention to Giyu without its eyes ever faltering from the man.

”Answer me this, Giyu… you must realize I am the 5 Tailed Beast…” the beast raised its voice, not in a threatening way. ”When you fight… do you fight to protect? or do you fight because you are afraid of what happens when you stop?”

The question hung over Giyu for a long than the sun would be in the sky, he was confused and curious. When, how or what happened to put this tailed beast within him. And why did the masked man suddenly make him and it meet out of nowhere. The water slowly rose around Giyu’s feet to his calves, it was not hot or painful but calming.

Before the water could rise any higher, a sharp grasp yanked Giyu's shoulder, pulling him away from the tails, as his boots scraped across the glassy surface. The masked mans presence suddenly there, his eyes looking down at Giyu as if to say, if you step one foot closer it will not be ignorance that dooms you.

Behind Giyu, he could feel the masked mans eyes on him.

Giyu did not turn immediately to look at the masked man, his gaze stayed locked on the towering beast beyond the fence, but Giyu's voice did not betray him as it left his lips. "You said I wasn't ready," Giyu said with a low voice, almost a whisper. "That its will would crush me."

His fingers lingered over his empty sheath. "Then tell me this, if I don't face it now, when do I? And if harmony is what you claim to want, why throw me into the fire without teaching me how to not get burnt by whatever this great being is?"

Weak, the word echoed within Giyu's mind, it was a verdict given by a masked man who had taken one look at him, and determined he was in fact weak. Do you even know its name? Giyu's jaw tightened he had fought enemies with titles, Arali and shinobi from far and wide, demons even, but never once had he questioned what watched him when he slept, or what burned through his veins when he pushed his luck too far. It was not because he did not care, but because, perhaps he was afraid of the answer.

Giyu swallowed a lump in his throat as his gaze turned to the masked man, finally acknowledging his presence. The presence that had kept him from harm. "Who are you?" Giyu began, his voice low and calm. "You keep talking about harmony... and this... this being inside me. What is it really? Am i meant to control it, coexist with it, or is it just a storm waiting to consume me?"

Giyu paused, letting the question hang. "And why now? Why pull me into this trial of yours before I even know its name or its will? I can face it, but I need to understand it first. Otherwise, what is all this for?"

”You reach for steel… you cling to tools, names, techniques… as though those things decide who you are and what you inherit.”
the Five-Tails said, its eyes never leaving Giyu’s face, and a faint curl at the corner of its massive mouth suggested something like pity. The seals on the fence glowed under the weight of the beast, like it was a dam trying to hold back an ocean.

”You wish to know my name?... names are given to equals.” The water reached Giyu’s knees now, lugging gently, the warmth ever present. ”So I offer you a simple challenge… do not kneel, do not draw your weapon… do not beg… but stand there and tell me who you are, without telling me what you can do.” The Five-Tails lowered its head until its head was aligned with Giyu’s.

Giyu lifted his head, looking directly into the beasts eyes. "Then tell me this, if I am unworthy of your name, why are you still here with me?"

Giyu's voice did not rise but rather it was steady like a running river. "Tell me this... Am I your prison, or am I the only reason you still exist as more than just another weapon?"

The prairie bent beneath the heat and steam, as its tails laid to rest forming a half circle around them. ”Depending on your answer I might grant you my name… and depending on what happens next… you might even thank the man behind you.” The beast smiled.

The heat rose and fell with its breath, ”But if I don’t like your response… Ill take away all that I have granted you… even your life.”

What a cunning creature this was. Seeking a rise by using phrases about borrowed eyes. Fool. He knew not of the pain that forged his eyes. Not did he know of the power gifted, not borrowed. He was simply seeking to unnerve Akira while the current balance of power was truly shifted. Quite the amusing creature. Though this boy, he was a fool. Ignorance and cowardice seemed to blind him from the fact the beast was powerless unless he betrayed the trust he held within himself.

"And these creatures wonder why people have a disdain for them. Adorable. I could choose to engage with a caged beast with a battle of words, or I could assist this young man in becoming what he was meant to be. Now..." he spoke walking forwards placing his hand on the chakra seeping from the cage, "... know your place!"

In that moment all the steam, heat, water and chakra burst away in a puff of smoke leaving Giyu free in a darkened place.

A moment later the two were back in the real world. Chains held Giyu in the air as the beasts chakra seemed to flood around him. Akira used his sealing to bind the chakra to the beast to stop it raging. The violent chakra bubbled around the boy.

"You're a Jinchuuriki of the Five Tailed beast. It's name is Gobi. He is one of 9 and he is only as powerful as you allow him to be boy. Prove to me here that I did not waste my time and chakra. You are in control. You are the master. You can draw on the beasts power. He is not your master. Prove to me... prove to yourself... what you really are...."

The beasts chakra was getting out of control. Did the boy really have the will to make it his?

The chains of the masked man pulled Giyu higher, just enough that his feet scraped against the sand, chakra of a reddish hue enveloping him from his legs as the Five-Tails energy surged around him in a large suffocating wave. It felt as f Giyu was standing at the bottom of a boiling sea, every breath was swallowed by steam and water rushing into his lungs, the pressure around him feeling immense. He could feel his heart thundering within his chest, frantically, and for several moments he could not tell where his own heartbeat ended and where the presence of the beast began.

”So this is what it feels like, to be seen, by Gobi…” Giyu thought, his mind slow and gentle, despite the world around him.

His instincts told him to fight, the hairs on his back rising, his hand twitching reaching for the sword that isn’t there. His body told him to thrash, to try and force chakra through his tenketsu that was being held captive by Gobi, to reach for any techniques that had been drilled into him, that had become second nature to him. His fingers began to curl reflexively, nails were biting into his hands, drawing blood. Anything to break free, yet nothing happened, and he always remembered silence and the stillness of the surroundings as death. Or… it was the presence of a predator.

His mind began to panic, and in that moment his own chakra began to rise, crashing against the inside of his body like a living thing that was trying to force its way out of him. It began to make his body writhe in the real world like a fish hanging from a hook trying to break free. Steam was tearing and rising from his skin, the scent of scorched grass and blood emanating from him, despite the lack of grass and blood around them. He could feel it, the build up of a roar within his chest, it was forming, it was not his own, a roar that was threatening to rise out of his throat.

”No!” Giyu thought, barely holding onto that single word, that was not the person Giyu was, that was not him. But a single drop of doubt began to creep into his mind.

How many times had Giyu survived because he had run from whatever laid before him, because he let fear control his actions. How many fights had ended with his body laying broken yet victorious. He had told himself it was restraint. But in reality was it cowardice?

The thought of him being a coward hurt him more than the Gobi’s chakra that was consuming him. The pressure from within began to rise up through him, as if the beast was sensing him fracturing, breaking apart. The pain rose through his eyes, it felt immeasurable, and Giyu was gasping for air, as something enormous felt as if it was trying to rip through him from within.

”I’m not… I’m not your cage.” Giyu’s voice was almost swallowed by the roar that had been building up, yet he forced he words through his throat. The Gobi was recoiling, it did not expect Giyu to say those words.

It felt as if Gobi was furious, angry, wanted to be let loose, offended by the fact Giyu thought himself more than a cage.

His mind was screaming for an escape from the pain, for him to simply be unconscious, for anything to make it stop. And then he saw it. It was not a memory, but a realization.

Every time the steam had been rising from his katana, every time his body had overheated, every time where something unseen had nudged him instead of overtaking him. It had never forced him, never attempted to control him, and it felt as if it had cared about him. Giyu realized, Gobi had waited, had waited for him to see him, and yet Giyu never looked back.

Giyu stopped fighting the chains, stopped fighting entirely, his body became limp in the real world, the Gobi’s chakra still flowing around him, but this time in stillness. He had stopped trying to push the chakra down and away from him, instead he began to breath through the nose, through clenched teeth. The pain subsided slowly, no longer tearing him apart.

”I won’t disappear for you to be free… and I won’t pretend I’m strong without you either… you deserve better than that Gobi…” Giyu said with an unbroken voice.

The Gobi’s chakra seemed to hesitate, it seemed as if it was slowly subsiding, swirling around his chest and shoulders.

”I have decided, when I fight, why I fight, fear doesn’t get to choose anymore. Survival doesn’t get to choose either… and neither do you… I choose my own fate, and if you want to be part of it you can but I am behind the wheel” His fist clenched.

Silenced gripped the air, then slowly the chakra began to recede, disappear entirely. The violent and intense heat subsided, like coals that had turned cold. The pressure of the depth of the sea vanished from his lungs, and Giyu immediately drew in a deep breath, the first breath that did not hurt. Steam was still rising from his skin, but it was in gentle wispss, dissolving into nothing.

The chains that had bound Giyu was slackened around him, he could feel his feet touching the sand, he could still feel the presence within him, but it had subsided, it had been pushed back through his will and his own decisions. Giyu looked up at the masked man, just as his eyes turned from the Five-Tails light blue bright eyes back to Giyu’s dark depths of the sea eyes, and steam subsided.

Giyu was breathing steadily at this point, while looking at the masked man. ”You wanted proof… that it would not overpower me… and that I would not disappear…. I won’t be ruled by fear, not by him, not by you or anyone else.”

The chakra bubbled around the boy, the heat intensifying. Was he truly going to lose control. The anger and doubt within them reflected in the chaotic bijuu chakra trying to break free. Maybe he'd have to seal part of the beast's power away. He could use the five pronged sealing technique to limit it's power, but that wouldn't help the boy in the long run. No, he needed to learn to accept what he was. Instead, Akira strengthened his chains as the boy wrestled with his demons.

After much struggle, the boy calmed. His mind cleared of the rage and hate and instead a wave of exhaustion passed over him drawing in the chakra of the beast that had tried to dominate him.

"Well done boy. I knew you had it in you." Akira spoke as the chains returned to his hands and his sharingan returned to his normal eye. Instead he took a step forwards placing his hand on the boy. In an instant a pulse of flames wrapped around him. These flames did not burn. Instead they sealed his wounds and revitalized his body.

"This should help you get back on your feet. The effects will wear off in a few hours. And take this..." He spoke taking a tag from his pouch handing it to the boy. "Should you feel you're losing control, use this. It will suppress the beast for a time." He turned and began walking towards the ocean, turning back for a moment. "Take this too." He threw a scroll of communication to the boy. "When you're ready, seek me out boy."

As he said this he was gone.

[Mission End]

( Uchiwaketon: Zeusu no Yuigon ) | Breakdown Release: Testament to Zeus
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: B - S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 40 - 60
Damage: 80 - 120
Description: This is the basic creation technique of Breakdown Release. The user will combine their Yang with Fire Release to create a Breakdown Release technique. This can be released from the users body, formed out of their chakra in the air or from the ground. If formed out of the air or ground it must be 5m away from an opponent, unless the user himself is within that range. From there the user will create anything he can imagine; ranging from simple waves, pulses, streams, to shapes as intricate as weapons, houses, creatures, etc,. Due to being composed of Yang chakra, it will cost 40 chakra for a B rank then increasing by 10 chakra per rank. When releasing this jutsu the user will chose to apply the Degenerative or Regenerative effects. The Degenerative effects only apply to enemies of the user, while the Regenerative effects only apply to the allies of the user. These effects are outlined as followed:

Degenerative:
  • B Rank: Prevent the use of F rank jutsu, reducing the target's current speed by 20%
  • A Rank: Prevent the use of S rank jutsu & above, reducing the target's current speed by 30%
  • S Rank: Prevent the use of A rank jutsu and above, reducing the target's current speed by 40%
Regenerative:
  • B Rank: Heal up to 30, x1.5 speed, -10 damage, +10 tai
  • A-Rank: Heal up to 50, x2 speed, -15 damage, +15 tai
  • S-Rank: Heal up to 80, x2.5 speed, -30 damage, +20 tai
This technique, being semi sentient, will only harm those who the user perceives as enemies, where the flames will simply pass over their allies. The flames of breakdown will always damage the enemies of the user regardless of which effects are applied.

Note: For B rank and below, the user will use hand gestures to form the jutsu, for A rank the user will need to perform two hand seals, S rank will require three hand seals. A rank can be used once per turn up to 4 times per battle, S rank can be used three times per battle with two turns between uses and no Breakdown jutsu above A rank in the following turn with all effects lasting 3 turns.

( Chakra Haisui Fūin no Jutsu ) – Chakra Suppression Seal Technique
Rank: B-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user places this seal on the forehead of a Jinchuuriki influenced by the powers of a Bijuu, to forcibly cause the Bijuu's powers to recede. The Jinchuuriki becomes exhausted after this happens.
Note: This can only restrict Jinchuuriki in their Incomplete form, not when they completely transform into the Bijuu.

(Fuuinjutsu: Kami Komyunikēshon) Sealing Arts: Scroll Communication technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: N/A
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description:
The user will create 2 or more scrolls with an embedded sealing formula that connects them all together. As such, anything written in one scroll will appear written in all the connected scrolls. A very useful communication technique, it can connect scrolls regardless of the distance between them. To activate the scroll, the user needs to perform a key of hand seals that will be unique for each creation and only known to those the user wishes, preventing the use of the scrolls by those the user doesn't allow.
