Not that I know anything about it but the smudging looks really good to me. I just don't like how plain the bg is.

Nice work mate, the only things that come to mind is that the right side is very un-noticable if you get what I mean. So it looks like its very empty even though there is smudging there, however the smudging that I can see looks nice. The flow is good, but it could use a bit more blending by highlighting parts of the smudge and darkening other areas just to make the smudge standout more. Other than that nice job
