Well the smudge looks kinda smooth...doesn't matter now.
The smudge is suppose to be sharp and there are few more things to go with it like the flow, glows(looks at my sig for placement of glows) etc. I guess you had this Halloween theme in mind, and that's why the sig is dark. The pumpkin looks LQ and the spot next to the render on right looks LQ too(it kinda ruins the smudge on right). For me, the pumpkin is drawing my attention. I'm no expert in making smudge tags, but try to keep the smudge sharp and don't make them too dark.

how do you make more than one color smudge together so well?.. like ur current sig

Actually you are suppose to smudge different colors in different layers, and depending on your smudge pattern you may have to keep varying the brush settings. ^_^
