First ever drawing! (Not including childhood)

This is my 1st ever drawing after the age of 9, and the first I've actually TRIED to draw "good". How is it? I'm not good in shading.

It looks like the one eye that saw while grading an art journal... That eye haunts me till this day....

Try getting a reference and remember eyelashes are NOT straight...

It's good, a bit darker would be nice, and sometimes (as my art teacher used to say) Making things darker can actually make them look better, and it tends to give alittle Oof! to the picture.

But I like it, good job! b^.^d
