Fire release is one of the 5 Basic elements.It has advantage against Fuuton,since wind sparkles the flames even more.It's has a disadvantage against Suiton because water is extinguishing the flames naturally,but a strong fire technique can be causing evaporation.Examples of Katon users are Mei Terumi,Itachi Uchiha,Kakuzu,Nagato,Obito Uchiha und Sasuke Uchiha.
Examples for combinations are:
katon+suiton=boil release
katon+fuuton+doton=dust release
katon+doton=lava release
A Kekkei Genkai is a special ability which is being passed on from various clans.It can not be copied or learned since there's a practicular gene in the DNA,which can only be inherited.
For example;
hyouka clan=byakugan
uchiha clan=sharingan
There are techniques which can only be done with Kekkei Genkai and fire release.An example for such techniques is Mangekyō Sharingan, which can not be performed without fire release.

I'm sorry for the late reply.
I start thinking about fire and focusing on my chakra,while converting a large amount of it to fire.Meanwhile I'm focusing the katon chakra onto my lungs and when there's enough amount of it,I exhale the chakra formed as a small fireball.

I close my eyes and start thinking about fire.I begin with moulding superheated chakra inside of my stomach.When i feel like there's enough heated katon chakra in my stomach I send it to my lungs.I release the heated chakra while exhaling it through my mouth,formed as a small fireball.

Not bad. For this jutsu exhale several small fireballs at your target in one breath. Nothing to it. Burn a few training dummies nearby.

I start concetrating at my chakra,while converting a large amount of it in my stomach to fire.after I feel like there's emough amount of fire chaka in my stomach.I begin forming the katon chakra into small fire balls in my throat and realease it at my opponent through my mouth.I continue doing the same a few times till the people who were watching and my opponent are damaged because of this jutsu(◕‿◕✿)
I go infront of my enemy and start concentrating on my fire chakra in my stomach.after I feel like I have an enough amount of fire chakra I start exhaling a little of it,formed as a small fireball at my target, while holding 1 hand infront of my mouth.which has a shuriken inside of it.I throw the shuriken,which is infused with katon at my opponent and continue doing the same a few times.

I go in front of my target and concentrate at my katon chakra while holding several shuriken in my hand.I send a huge amount of katon chakra to my hand which sends it to the shuriken.Right after that, i throw all the shuriken at my target,which is a tree.I concentrate and think about producing flames on the shuriken.After a few tries, the shuriken ignite.Thanks to that,right after the shuriken hit the tree,the tree sets on fire.
That's better. Here's something a bit different. Perform the Snake, Ram, Monkey, and Tiger handseals before exhaling flammable gas at your target instead of fire. Ignite the gas with a fire jutsu to create a large fireball and set him ablaze. Find a dummy nearby.
