[Katon] Fire Training with Souji

*Guv nods, he was beginning to recognize this form of training, similar to that which a fellow named Ragnar, a teacher appointed by the old Daimyo of the Land of Rivers. The man taught him how to perform E-ranked Ninjutsu, as well as how to throw shuriken, kunai, and how to prepare sneak attacks... the last of which Guv was never good at. He begins to ponder though, did he survive? He wasn't at the Daimyo's estate the day of the attack after all, but he hasn't heard or seen any evidence of him since the day of the attack... And yet, Medea was always there, cheering him on. She never had the chakra amounts needed to perform any ninjutsu, and even if she did, the Land of Rivers isn't exactly the most progressive of the countries, having a traditional viewpoint for upper class women in that they shouldn't get involved in shinobi affairs. So while Guv would go and try to teach her at least the clone jutsu in case someone would try to attack and kidnap her, but she never complied, always dependent on Guv, as if she...

A few tears drip from Guv's face, thinking of himself as failure, yet, he did save another girl, one named Agnes Oblige. Nice girl, weird mannerisms though, even more official than those of Medea. Yet, she was also more comforting than he was, and also more confident. He smiled, and began to wipe his face, at least he did one thing right. He looked to Aigis, bearing a more determined look on his face. He then performed the four handseals with 1.5 seconds as fire begins to surround him, some stinging his cloths and skin. He then pushes his right arm forward two feet, swirling his arm as he does so, with his knees bent and right foot forward one foot; this allows a pillar of fire one foot wide and one foot tall to swiftly approach the first Aigis clone, the one to his right, within a second, incinerating her. He then clasps both hands together, releasing the fire chakra into a swirl, surrounding about three meters (9 feet) around him, but not eliminating her. Instead, he performs the Tiger → Horse → Rat → Dog → Tiger handseals and then begins to spew out a stream of fire, that surrounds about three meters around the second clone. He then inhales and exhales a larger fireball, that forms into a spider within two seconds. It approaches her slowly, causing her to cross legs and hold her right hand forward, shrieking all the while. Guv first smirks, and then begins to laugh, causing the fire to dissipate. He just remembered something...*

There was a sense of discomfort that Aigis felt as Guv defeated her clone with the spider jutsu. It's not that she was squeamish or anything... maybe it was her soft side that caused her such a trite weakness. But it couldn't be helped. She looked over at her student, who seemed to be lost in thought as usual.

What was going on in his head? She looked at him curiously, tilting her head as she created three more clones. How she could create this many clones in a single training session was beyond her ._.

"On my first clone, breathe out a stream of fire that reaches her. This technique is not complex at all, but it's quick and efficient, if not a little simple."

*Guv stops laughing and immediately inhales, surely they both know of what to do by now. He then exhales out a stream of fire... and that was it. No fireworks, nothing exciting, but a decent end to a combo, especially if aimed for the head or abdomen. Guv ends the stream after five seconds, ample time to reach and burn the first clone, and then begins to funnel chakra from his right elbow to his right wrist, and then forms a wave motion, going left to right about one foot above his head, thus forming a firewall of about seven feet, which finishes forming within two seconds, just when the boulder's about one meter from Guv's position, with the wall itself being about six inches from Guv's face. He takes two steps back and then concentrates chakra into his feet, with his right foot being about one foot in front, and the left foot being at a fifteen degree angle with the front of the foot pointing inward, to brace himself from the boulder's impact. He begins to concentrate chakra into his lungs, but notices that the firewall successfully eliminate it but a few small pebbles. He instead does a tiger hand seal and then releases the already stored fire chakra as a stream towards the third clone's feet, similarly to the fire pillar technique. It then bursts upwards by nine feet, launching the clone about twelve feet in the air, which Guv then targets by throwing a kunai towards her heart, thus eliminating the clone. He then, for good measure, throws two shuriken at the remaining clone, eliminating that one as well. He then smiles, and picks up Yangus and begins to pet it.*

A huge wild beast appears out of nowhere... well, this was a training session >_>"

In response to this, Aigis weaves the Rat, Monkey, Horse, and Tiger handseals, forming something like a prison from multiple lightning pillars, which surround and trap the beast.

"For the very first A-rank jutsu, it can only be performed with the technique I used previously. Once you've trapped the target of your choice; say, that beast... you'll form the Rat, Dragon, and Boar handseals, forming flames inside that prison, turning it into a large oven that roasts anything in it."

"A pity it wasn't a giant chicken or fish. It would have made a nice lunch." Guv could almost see her licking her lips.

(Katon: Shageki Bisuketto) – Fire Release: Firing Biscuit technique

"The second technique in this set will have you weaving three handseals. Then, fire a small fireball that erupts into a large firestorm upon making contact with a solid surface. Incredibly powerful and fast, and if you combine it with a wind jutsu, it can evaporate water."

Since the flames travel along the ground, and cover such a wide area this is a difficult technique to evade. When combined with Wind Release: Pressure Damage, this technique is amplified to the point of being able to evaporate a large amount of water in an instant.

*Guv nods and performs the Rat → Dragon → Boar handseals in about one and a half seconds, thus causing a fire to slowly erupt within the sixteen rod oven. Nothing more to really say, as Guv can't even perform this one until he begins Raiton training :|. Guv then performs the Rat → Dog → Tiger in the same timeframe as the creatures continue to be burnt, and he first inhales and then exhales out a small fireball, aiming for a spot four feet in front of him. He then dashes backwards, in order to make a distance of long range between him and the fireball, thus making him out of reach from a backfire situation. As he moves about three feet back, the fireball hits the ground and begins to expand upwards and around it. Within three seconds, by which Guv moved about two feet back, the fireball began to expand into a gigantic fire of about eight feet in diameter and nine feet in height. Full knowing that he cannot outrun it, he climb onto a tree about two feet in front of him, using his chakra to enact a constant stream of chakra, and then jumps off it when he at six feet up the tree, and then expels a stream of wind direct at a forty five degree angle, facing the flame, thus pushing Guv successfully mid range, about a meter away from the end of the flame. He does this as the flame approaches one more foot in front of him. He goes about four meters, and slides forward another foot as he lands, concentrating chakra around both feet to prevent a harsh landing. He then dashes another two meters and looks at the flame, now ten meters (thirty feet), gasping for breath. Truly this jutsu is highly dangerous to use, now he has to show much more caution if he even wants to finish this training alive.

{The time frame is this: Guv spits the fireball four feet in front of him, and it goes eight feet as Guv runs five, thus making the flame one foot from him, thus making him about four meters and the flame 3.66 meters, entering the borders of mid-range for both. He then climbs up a tree two feet in front of him, and climbs up six feet before jumping and using the Wind Stream Technique to propel himself about another four meters away from the flame. At this point, including the slide, he has moved nine meters away from the original spot, while the flame is now 5 meters from the original spot. Guv finally moves two meters away, pushing him long range from the fire, as the fire begins to weaken as it approaches ten meters, thus making the final distance between Guv and the flame about one meter}.

"This one will have you stomping the ground in front of us, and creating a tunnel by forcing your Katon chakra through it. Breathe fire into the tunnel after you've created it, and it will cause the fire and earth to meld, forming something that's similar to lava. And when you've set that all up, form a single hand seal and molten rock will erupt from the ground along the path of the tunnel, like a small volanic eruption, destroying a large area. The setup for this technique is a little slower than most, but the incredible range and its payoff outweigh that."

They then breathe out fire into the tunnel, causing the fire carry rock and other debris with it as it travels, melting them. With a single hand seal, the molten rock debris will erupt from the ground underneath the opponent, engulfing them and burning them alive.

"Next, form a flame on the ground that shoots forward in a blast that incinerates all in its path, in a linear fashion. However, within the confines of the same technique, you'll enhance the fire with a gust of wind, right after the fire. The fire on its own only reaches up to short range, but the wind powers it up to A-rank and gives it a new mid-range limit."

"Relatively straightforward, but this is one of those techniques that combines two elements into one. A rarity."

"Create a fireball that travels towards your opponent. Yeah, I know, another fireball... so cool, right? Ok, no ironic pun intended there."

"Anyway, when the fireball comes into contact with something or someone, it explodes into a large storm of flames, affecting not only the target, but whatever's in the immediate area around them. Pretty powerful, fast to perform... nothing too complicated."

This time, Aigis sets up a training dummy that looks like Kakashi.

*Guv nods and begins to gather katon chakra around his right foot before stomping it onto the ground about a foot in front of it two seconds later. It begins to travel mid range, creating a burning path heading towards the a nearby dummy. He then breathes a stream of fire into the hole, for three seconds, as it begins to approach long range, causing a larger tunnel to form underneath Guv and the dummy, as the fire carries molten rock towards it. Finally, Guv forms a Tiger hand seal, and the ground underneath the dummy sinks, causing a sinkhole of about eight feet deep and twelve feet wide in diameter. Yet, a giant eruption appears simultaneously, causing rock to be propelled in the area around the area, with a large flame pillar around the area of the sinkhole appearing for four seconds before dieing down. Guv begins to sweat somewhat, these jutsus are exceedingly powerful...

Guv then exhales out a small spew of fire, igniting the ground about three feet in front of him with a small fire. He then gathers wind chakra into his right hand and pushes it forward, with his hand tilted to the left about ninety degrees to form a straight line from the tips of his right fingers to his elbow, releasing it as his hand reaches halfway towards its final point. This causes the wind to reach the flame, thus propelling it forward mid-range. As the fire travels, its height also increases, in a slope shape, until it reaches about fifteen feet high as it strikes, and incinerates, the Gai statue. Guv grins, as many people seem to have an odd predisposition to confuse the two of them

Guv finally inhales and then exhales out a fireball, striking the Kakashi statue and incinerating it. Honestly not much more to say than that this is a stronger fireball jutsu. Much wow, many flames.*

Yes. The wind of the second jutsu simply extends the range of the fire. For example, if you launched a vortex-style wind jutsu behind the fire, you'd create a flaming maelstrom that's carried around the battlefield

just note it would have to be after you release the wind to extend the fire's range.

"Stomp the ground and channel your Katon chakra through it. Flaming pillars will erupt from the ground around you, and you can space them out evenly, to form an offensive attack or defensive wall. I would personally use this technique to erupt the jutsu at an opponent's feet for a quick finish. The pillars are tall enough that they can hit low flying aerial targets, like..."

"Perform the Tiger hand seal and compress Katon chakra in your body. Exhale it and apply shape manipulation to turn them into Dragon-shaped fireballs. Yes, more fireballs..."

"But the thing about these fireballs is that you can control their paths with your chakra, and their properties are such that they can nearly disintegrate unprotected targets due to their sheer heat. The fireballs even have a solidity to them, making them seem like they're a projectile that can cause impact damage."

"For this exercise, shoot a couple at me, I'll show you a counter to them." Aigis took a ready stance, right arm and leg forward and left limbs back, exuding confidence.

Description: After performing the hand seal Tiger the user compresses a large amount of chakra built up inside their body, before instead expelling it in the form of a number of dragon head-shaped fireballs. The user then skilfully manipulates that great fire, and attacks their opponent. The temperature of the created flames is so great that, even with the briefest of contact, they are capable of easily burning human flesh and the fireballs are dense enough to behave almost as solid, being able to deliver impact damage in adition to the fire damage. However, this also means that they can be deflected as a solid projectiles.

*Guv begins by concentrating chakra around his right foot before stomping it one foot in front of him. This causes three fire pillars to appear five feet in front of him, with the middle fire pillar being directly in front of him, and the left and right pillars being about six inches separated respectively. They are about ten meters high and have an circumference of one meter each (meaning that this technique has a total length of ten feet). Needless to say, the birds are... well... burnt. Too bad they weren't chickens though.

Guv then performs a Tiger hand seal before exhaling five Dragon shaped fireballs, each about the size of a Kurama head. The first three begin to head towards Aigis' front and the other two toward her back, one going in a clockwise direction, the other counterclockwise. The front three begin to twist, crossing each others paths, before going upwards suddenly. The two approaching her back stop when they each are at ninety degree angles from Aigis, and then suddenly charge towards her, aimed towards her ribcage. As they do so, one of the three airborne dragon heads dives directly downwards towards her head, and the other two approach directly in front and behind her, all three aimed towards her head, with the latter two forming a pincher formation.*

Wow. Guv had come this far. From a bumbling yet earnest guy who couldn't mold Katon chakra properly to a fierce warrior who was now going to end her if she didn't defend. This was perhaps the most rewarding part of training... watching young ones grow.

Now wasn't the time to wax nostalgic, though. She was going to die if she didn't do anything.

Aigis would mold Doton chakra in her hands and slam her hands onto the ground, erecting a set of Earth walls in a formation around her, which the fireballs would then explode against, destroying the walls and dissipating the fire, but otherwise leaving her unharmed.

"Excellent, Guv. Your killing intent was superb. How do you feel, now that we're done with the A-rank jutsus?"

*Guv stretches, his eyes still cracking open from the long nap he just took. He scratches the back of his head, and takes a swift drink of water, before checking a nearby trap he set up the day before, finding an ensnared rabbit stuck between its claws. He removes it and before to remove its fur, skin, organs, and other such material to prepare it to be cooked. He begins to speak as he does so, although he looks at his progress as he does so:*

"So, we are currently at the S-Ranks, correct? I wish to begin, if that is okay with you Aigis-senpai."

Aigis, meditating cross-legged by the lake, perked up her ears in response to her student's call. She opened her eyes, looking well-rested and peaceful.

"I suppose it is time. Let's get to it, then. We can save sentiments for post-training. I want you to apply everything you've learned and pour your soul into each of these techniques."

"For the first of the S-ranks, form one handseal and expel a huge flaming stream from your mouth. You can control the size and spread of the fire, from a narrow jet to a large, wide area attack. Remember that it's a stream-type technique, and this is strong enough to evaporate even water."

"What would you use the narrow jet for, versus the widespread version?"

The flames are hot enough to quickly evaporate large quantities of water within a relatively short amount of time.

"The second jutsu has you weaving the Horse, Tiger, Snake, and Ram handseals. Exhale up to eight (8) fireballs upward into the sky, and, within the same turn, they'll rain down like flaming meteors."

"Both of these techniques are absurdly powerful. Just be sure not to kill us both, of course."

These fireballs have explosive and concussive abilities, similar to other fire techniques.

*Guv nods towards Aigis' statements and gulps. It's time... the memories, those damn memories... perhaps one of these techniques was the one... Guv performs a snake handseal, one specifically chosen to be placed nearby his middle ribcage, as he begins to concentrate an immense amount of fire chakra within each of his lungs. It begins to burn him, tearing through his lungs, reaching his hearts, he feels it burning his clothes, leaving him a naked burnt body, at least that's what it feels like. He then exhales it, aiming towards a small pond mid-range to test Aigis' statement. As he continues exhaling it, the fire growing larger as it continues to move away from Guv, it approaches the pond, leaving a charred plot of land in its wake; it reaches a grand total of twenty feet in width and twenty feet in height, a quite massive wall of flame. It immediately evaporates the pond as the fire hits, leaving nothing but a charred hole left where the fire met water. What ungodly power was this jutsu... but no, this was not the one.*

*Guv then performs the Horse → Tiger → Snake → Ram handseals and concentrates the same intense heat within his lungs, forming two large concentrations of it, one in each lung. He then exhales both within one second apart, forming two fireballs about the size of half of his body. They strike within one meter of the charred pond, one on each side, this creating a large burnt hole on either side of the pond, leaving just a few inch margin separating each hole, while each of the newly created holes are about seven feet deep.*

*Guv sits down for a moment, breathing heavily, these jutsus are even rougher than the A-Ranks, and that was rough.*

"I suppose that the difference isn't much different than a normal scenario, in that a wider jutsu can be used as a zoning mechanism or as a larger deterrent against advancing foes, but it doesn't hold the power to immediately incinerate your foes as does the narrow variety, nor does it hold any form of precision. However, both forms pretty incinerate everything anyways, so I don't see much concern to differentiate them too much."

*Guv stands up... and sighs, something... something was similar here, but what was it?*

Aigis pulled out two scrolls from her equipment bag and presented them, wrapped up, in front of Guv.

"The next two jutsus require scrolls. Luckily, I brought some. For the first jutsu, use your Katon chakra to break the seal on one of these scrolls, summoning a flaming dragon that erupts from the scroll and is manipulated and created through shape transformation. You can control the trajectory and the attack pattern of the dragon using your chakra. Oh, and it explodes upon impact."

"The second jutsu applies the same principles, except you create a flaming tiger, which is obviously smaller than the dragon. You can also control the tiger, and it explodes on contact."

"The dragon's a little slower but larger and does widespread damage. In contrast, the tiger's faster and can do more concentrated damage on a single target. Something to think about."

*Guv nods and takes the first scroll, opening it as he concentrates chakra within his right hand. Scrolls flies... and promptly plops onto the ground... poor Guv, yet an amateur. He touches the left edge of a large, circular seal with his right pointer and middle finger, having sent the concentrated chakra of his right hand towards those two fingers. This causes a large snake of flame to charge out, burning the scroll as it does so. As it reaches out, Guv begins to form the head, starting with the eyes, then mouth, then ears, and finally whisks of hair. It then begins to charge towards the first wooden dummy, it moving in a snake pattern, and its head and body growing longer until the head reaches a maximum height of twelve feet, and the body reaching a length of twenty. It hits the wooden dummy, leaving absolutely nothing in its wake.*

*Guv then takes out a second scroll, but before opening it makes sure that he has his right pointer and middle finger already concentrated with chakra. He then opens it, and as soon as he sees the circular seal, places his fingers onto it, thus sending out a fire tiger from it. It's slightly smaller at ten feet in height, and six feet in length, but it moves quick, so quick that the wooden dummy ends up being destroyed before Guv could even make it go in a circle. Guv smiles though, he really is making progress, at least of some sort.*

After taking a short break while watching Guv finish the scroll-based techniques, Aigis continued, smiling.

"First of the last! Ready? Weave the horse handseal, and mold Katon chakra in your mouth. Description: A technique where chakra kneaded inside the body is converted into fire, and then expelled from the mouth in a massive stream of intense flames, after doing the Rat → Ox → Dog → Horse → Monkey → Boar → Tiger hand seals. The technique has an enourmous range and can cover a huge area. When it was used by Madara Uchiha, the massive scale of the technique was such that, in comparisson, his incomplete Susanoo seemed small. The main advantage of the technique is that it can be used to burn large areas in an effect in everything similar to a flamethrower.

*Guv turns towards the final set of dummies, ready to finish this training. Guv first performs a Horse hand seal and then exhales out a stream of fire, which quickly grows to an astronomically large wall of fire. However, the fire stream closer to Guv was still small, and it took about a meter before a fire wall was formed. From there, it grew at about a pace of four feet per meter until it hit a height of twenty feet in five meters. However, its width was... fifty feet, engulfing most of the training field in flames when it reached mid-range in fifteen seconds. Not as quick as the Intelligent Hard Work jutsu, but still, everything was still obliterated... why must such a jutsu exist?*

*Guv sighed, full knowing that there was no repairing the damage done this time, and begins to form the final handseals, Rat → Ox → Dog → Horse → Monkey → Boar → Tiger. When Guv began to exhale out this stream, however, a much thicker stream came out, covering most of his face, and it moved quicker than the majestic annihilation jutsu. When it hit the center of the training field in five seconds, a large fire formed, quickly covering most of the training field with a large fire. When the stream stopped though, the fire continued... and continued. Guv blushed again, and looked towards Aigis.*

Aigis and Guv looked at the scorched-earth they had left behind. Truly frightening.

"Fire has the capacity for great destruction, but is also a vital source of renewal and life. Look."

From the ashes of the area, a single sprout stood, having just budded from the nutrient-rich ashes.

"Guv, it was a pleasure teaching you. Do you have any other questions? If not, we've completed fire. Congratulations!"

She beamed at him, feeling somewhat proud.
