Fire training with Kerrah

It was the top of the day and the sun had begun to reach its highest point. A cool breeze ran through the land. Shadou stood firm with his red cloak blowing in the direction of the wind. The hood attached to his cloak kept a shadow hiding his eyes from view. He was instructed to wait at the given destination that his Senpai had told him to meet him at. His journey on becoming stronger was about to continue as he impatiently waited for Kerrah. Shadou had planned on furthering his knowledge and abilities of the Katon techniques. He held his cloak back and crouched down where he continued to pick up a single leaf. A smirk came over his face as he began to twirl the leaf.

“He’s taking forever, I’m wasting my time.”

Shadou stood up and pulled his hood off, revealing his black eyes and long black hair that rested on his shoulders. He released the leaf from his grip and watched it blow away with the breeze. Raising his arms up and extending them to the side, Shadou began to exercise and rotate his arms. He suddenly stopped exercising and flopped down onto the ground, gazing up into the sky.

“geez….”

Why hello there ^^ Apologies for the lateness, now lets begin

What can you tell me about fire? What are its attributes within the Narutoverse? What are its strength and weaknesses?

 

[Shadou]

Shadou quickly jumped up onto his feet when he heard a voice nearby. Turning around, a smirk came upon Shadou’s face when he realized the voice was coming from his senpai, Kerrah.

Nice to finally meet you, Kerrah. You want to know the strengths and weaknesses of fire, huh?

Fire in our “world” is one of the basic elements that any ninja in training should take the time to learn. Fire release attacks are commonly affiliated with the tiger hand seal. The user of the element usually builds heated chakara within the core of their body then releases it through the mouth. Usually used for mid to long ranged attacks, fire can cause explosive damage to a foe. The Fire element can also be on weapons through the flow of chakara.

Fire is strong against the wind element, but weak to water. If used in a combination with lightning, fire can become very deadly. Another combination for fire is wind, which can increase the strength of a fire technique. Fire can also be used in conjunction with earth to make the lava release.


Shadou pauses for a second and begins to scratch his head.

I believe that covers most of the important details.

 

[Kerrah]

Well done, that was a brilliant response ^^ For now let's try something.

*Spontaneously causes a stick to appear and ignites it*

Now, place one of your palms on top of this burning stick, at the first point tell me what you feel, describe the immense heat's contact with your skin, after that bring your palm upwards a bit and swing down towards the stick; ignoring the pain from the fire and attempt to put it out. Whilst doing that, keep your other palm open and facing the sky, and channel chakra towards the surface of your skin, with your newly-found understanding of fire, a small flame should appear at the roof of your hand.

 

[Shadou]

A wide grin crossed the face of Shadou as he listened closely to his senpais instructions. He continued to thrust his arms back and let his red cloak fall to the ground, revealing his gear underneath. Shadou raised his eyebrows as he watched on as Kerrah made a stick ignite in a flame. Hesitant at first, Shadou slowly began to approach Kerrah with his eyes focused on the stick. He looked up at Kerrah for a moment and turned his attention back to the stick…

Sounds Easy….

Shadou slowly lowered his hand, coming into contact with the flames that were burning the stick. A painful expression took over his face.

This feeling….it’s intense. My body suddenly is hot and my hand feels like it is being tortured by this flame.

Shadou quickly raised his hand off the stick, preparing to proceed to the next step. With the hand he had available, he lifted it and held at his side with his palm facing up toward the sky. With the other hand that he had previously touched the stick with, Shadou quickly swung his hand back down onto the flame again. The fire engulfed his hand, but this time he tried his hardest to ignore the feeling he had just previously felt. Shadou tampered with the flame, attempting to put it out.

Beginning to concentrate, Shadou closed his eyes and then gulped. He became tense as he started to try and channel his chakara. He focused on channeling the chakara towards his palm that was facing the sky. Within a short amount of time, a small flame appeared at the roof of his hand. Shadou opened his eyes and starred at his hand. A smile came across his face when he realized he had succeeded.

How’s that?

 

[Kerrah]

*The moment you set your gaze on your flame and lose concentration slightly, the flame is put out*

That was good, now lets take it up a notch, more concentration; do not be distracted and put even more of that burning passion in your hand, cause another fire to burn vigorously, then try to use shape manipulation, keep the fire in a compressed shape and do not lose control of it, try to form it in a ball and then release it from your hand, allow it to be shot straight into the sky.

 

[Shadou]

The smile on Shadou’s face was quickly replaced by a frown as he realized the flame that he had created had gone out. He took a deep breath and let out a disgruntled sound. Shadou realized that this may be harder then it sounded. Not willing to give up, Shadou was ready to try his next task.

Guess I’ll have another go at it…

Shadou began to concentrate once again, remembering the feeling from the previous flame. With his new found understanding of the fire element, he was determined not to fail. Shadou started to stare at his hand that he had directed upward towards the sky. In his mind he pictured himself being one with fire. He started to sweat but kept his mind focused on the task given.

A small flame ignited in the palm of Shadou’s hand. He concentrated a little harder than he did last time. The fire started to grow, and Shadou began to lose control over the flames. Not becoming discouraged, he remained concentrated on the flame. The fire began to compress back into a smaller flame with Shadou now in full control. Shadou then closed his eyes and imagined the fire taking the shape of a sphere.

Minutes had passed as Shadou remained focused. The small fire in the center of his hand slowly started to take the shape of a ball of fire. Refraining from getting excited, Shadou kept full control of the now ball of flame. He quickly threw his arm up higher into the sky, releasing the fire as his arm became fully extended. Opening his eyes, Shadou looked up at the sky to see the fire rushing up towards the clouds.

He looked on at his Senpai waiting for his approval while wiping the sweat from his face. …

…better?

 

[Kerrah]

Arms crossed, I was rather pleased with my student, I could tell potential was rushing throughout his blood, and a delightful smile came across my face as he succeeded to perform the task.

Now that's rather amazing! You should be proud, you've mastered the easiest but probably the most essential part of Katon, you have conquered the raging fire inside of you and learned to control it, learn to concentrate and even to manipulate fire to your will, from here the training will get more vigorous, and the jutsus will get more complex, but go the way you're going and it will be a breeze to you and you'll end up completing it, what I can't teach you though is to master the element mentally, only a ''mastered'' on paper, you have to go on your own path and find the true meaning of what it means to be a master of the Katon element, but that's a completely different story; for now, let me congratulate you on learning your first fire jutsu's!

Description: The user will release a small but powerful flame of fire at their opponent.

From here on I'll post a description of what I want you to replicate in your next post, if you succeed in understanding and performing what I ask you to do, I'll post the jutsu in my next post after yours, meaning you've learnt it. So let's get straight into business.

Since we're on the point of shape manipulation, let's try doing something more advanced which is called infusing. *throws you several shurikens* Pick them up, and hold them separately throughout your fingers. Then, with a simple swinging motion, throw these shurikens towards your opponent, however the trick here is, as they are leaving your hands, begin to concentrate on your fire chakra, channeling throughout your entire body and more specifically to your hands and those shurikens. So that as they are moving towards your opponent, the chakra will come out and with the aid of oxidization from the air, they will get engulfed in fire as they are approaching your enemy, dealing more damage

 

[Shadou]

Phew

Shadou nodded his head after hearing his senpais praises. Even though the training had just begun, Shadou felt confident that he could complete it all. He started to rotate his neck in a circle while listening on to what his next task was. A smile came over his face as Kerrah informed him that he had learned his first fire jutsu’s.

It was time to turn the training up a notch and Shadou was prepared for it. He took heed to what Kerrah had to say about mastering katon mentally. This task would prove to be a little more difficult because he had to set weapons on fire. Even though it sounded like it would be harder, Shadou did not become discouraged.

Shadou took a step back as his senpai, launched several shurikens his way. He slowly bent over, placing and then gripping each shruiken in-between his fingers. After making sure that he had a proper grip on the weapons, Shadou stood back up tall. He then lifted his arms towards his shoulders and prepared to launch the shurikens. Releasing a deep breath, Shadou continued to swing his hands forward, throwing all of the shurikens through the air.

As soon as they were released, Shadou began to concentrate. He focused on channeling his chakara throughout his body, especially his hands while keeping his eyes focused on the shurikens. Within mere seconds, the flying shurikens were engulfed in flames and continued their flight towards an imaginary opponent. Shadou looked on proudly at his work.

Not as hard as I thought it would be…

( Kaen Shuriken Ranbu ) - Blazing Shuriken Dance

Description: The user will throw several shuriken at the enemy and then inflames them with fire to cause extra damage.

Moving on, perform this sequence of hand signs *shows* Whilst kneading your Katon chakra throughout your your entire body, channeling it towards your gullet more specifically. Then, within an instant, blow the chakra out of your mouth. However here is the tricky part, you're not going to be blowing it out in a physical form of fire, but rather, manipulate the chakra inside your body, and make it so that you blow out a simple stream of flammable, non transparent gas that moves towards your opponent.

After that, hold out both your hands and we will practice the method of releasing simple fire-balls again, since you have done it before it should come much quicker and easier now. Channel your chakra to both of your palms, and using shape manipulation, form fire balls from the center of your hand, and release them in quick succession to different areas around the battlefield, and especially, send a single fireball towards the flammable gas, and upon contact of the two, the gas will ignite into an enormous, advanced fireball.

 

[Shadou]

Okay, got it!

Shadou raised his hands and started mimicking the hand signs his senpai had just done. At the same time of performing the hand signals, Shadou started to concentrate and let his katon chakara flow throughout his body. Once in control of his chakara, Shadou focused on channeling it to his gullet. He then opened his mouth and attempted to blow out the chakara but failed.

…..did I do something wrong? Let me try again.

A drop of sweat leaked from Shadou’s forehead. He performed the required hand signs once again and went back into a state of concentration. Once more he started to let his katon chakara flow throughout his body and channeled it towards his gullet area. He opened his mouth once again and breathed in the air while manipulating the chakara within him. He then blew out with all his force. As soon as he blew, a stream of flammable gas came shooting out of his mouth.

As soon as the gas came from out of his mouth, Shadou quickly raised his hands and held them out. He started to channel his chakara to both of his palms. Flames suddenly appeared in both of his palms and then formed into balls of fire from Shadou manipulating the shape of the flames. He then shot the balls of fire to different areas of the training grounds. After destroying part of the field, Shadou formed a single fireball in the center of his hand, this time he aimed it at the flammable gas he had previously released.

Argh!

A single fireball came into contact with the gas. Upon contact, the fireball grew larger. Shadou let out a laugh, pleased with his work. He then nodded his head at his senpai.

 

[Kerrah]

( Ryu Kaen Bakufuu ) - Dragon Flame Blitz

( Katon: Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Mist Blaze Dance Technique

Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Tiger, the user is able to create and blow a flammable gas from their lungs. Once it comes in contact with fire or sparks, the gas ignites into a large fireball.

Without the use of any hand signs, simply hold your hands out facing your opponent, but with a lowered angle so that the direction of your palm will be parallel to your opponents feet. Then, start to channel your fire chakra throughout your body and into your hands, where you release the fire in the form of a straight stream, that accelarates quickly towards your opponents feet, upon impact, the fire will ignite some minuscule sparks, and the heat that is given off from them cause him to lose his balance and collapse, giving an opening for another attack.

Then, as he is losing his balance from the sparks, perform this string of hand signs *shows* and inhale a considerate amount of air into your lungs, where you then utilize the particles from the air with the Katon chakra inside your body. And once done doing that, move your index finger and your thumb inwards, so that they shape into a ring, and place it around your mouth, expelling a huge fire ball that initially moves as a stream out of your mouth, but as it's being expelled, compress and manipulate it into a large fireball that descends down onto your opponent.

 

[Shadou]

Understood.

Shadou pictured an imaginary opponent standing in front of him, he then extended his arms out and lowered them so that they would be parallel to an average sized fighter’s foot. He began to concentrate and let his chakara flow throughout his body, channeling it to his hands. A stream of fire shot out quickly from both his hands and towards the imaginary opponent’s feet. In his mind he pictured the opponent s reaction being similar to how his senpai said it would.

After finishing the first technique, Shadou immediately started the next. He performed the required hand seals simultaneously while inhaling the air around him deep into his lungs. The air he had just inhaled began to mix with his katon chakara. With his right hand, Shadou slightly moved his index finger inwards so that it would touch the tip of his thumb. He then placed the two fingers which were now shaped like a ring around his mouth. He blew out, releasing a stream of fire. Upon the expelling of the fire, Shadou started to focus on manipulating the shape of the flames. Upon full release, the fire formed into a large fireball and headed down at the opponent.
