I know you've started, but this is just a formality I have with all my students. Tell me all you know about water release, it's relationship with the other elements and two people proficient in the element, along with how they've shown using it from the manga.

Ninjutsu

Any technique in Naruto that requires chakra and is real.

Elemental Ninjutsu

A more advanced ninjutsu that requires elemental chakra. There are 5 different types of Elemental Ninjutsu.Fire,Wind,Lightning, water, and earth.

Relation

In order to use Elemental Ninjutsu the user must manipulate and mold the chakra into your desired element of use

Chakra

Everyone in the Narutoverse has chakra but ninja use chakra to perform ninjutsu and other techniques.

Water

The element of suiton is by far the most advanced basic element. With Suiton I can create dragons.Or I could increase the pressure in water to make it slice through any object.Sution is mostly used by ninja in Kirigakure.

Why

Water is wet because it is a liquid.

Users

Tobirama, Mei, Yagura, Utakata

Okay, so first of all I'm not one of those super brilliant amazing teachers like Scorps, so I'm not going to ask you every single little thing there is to know in Naruto. I'm assuming you know the basics of it, the concepts of chakra and conversion to different elements, so you really don't need to do more than what I ask.

Please try again, but just the parts I've asked for.

Also could you link your previous Water training thread, if you've got one?

Water Release(Suiton) is one of the basic elemental ninjutsus in the world of Naruto. Water is wet of course and can be used with a lot of the other elements. Water is strong against fire because the water is wet and cold with the fire is hot and dry. So the water molecules put out the fire. Water is weak against earth becuase the earth soaks up the water. Some of the best water users are Tobirama and Kisame. Tobirama has been shown to be able to create water techniques from thin air. He is able to do this because of the moisture of the air. Kisame has been able to create a very large mass of water from his mouth. He can also create a huge dome of water that encased a great portion of a island.(Maybe it was the giant turle island). Water is for sure a unique element.

You're basically right on everything here except for a couple tiny mishaps here and there, but for the most part it's good.

Water is indeed weaker against Earth techniques, but not because it soaks the water up, but because of the solid consistency of the earth against the liquid of the water. Water can't penetrate the earth unless it's highly compressed and made for cutting which some techniques do, so that's why it's weak.

Water when used in conjunction with Wind creates a forceful effect to say the least. Water is mostly used through this as a penetrative force, using the pushing power with the mass. When we use Wind to push this mass, it makes the water much faster and by extension more forceful.

When used in conjunction with Lightning is a very unique stance which can't be compared to the other elemental combinations. Water is a powerful conductor of electricity, and using them together strengthens the Lightning technique phenomenally. If you have a water technique which extends to Long-range, and a Lightning technique which only goes to Mid-range, the water will conduct the lightning and help it grow due to it being a conductor.

I know this may be a little boring, but it's just fundamental and I do this with every student, regardless of where they're at with their training.

But one more thing: What would happen if a Water and Fire technique both collided against each other, both of equal rank?

The water technique would overpower the fire technique and continue foward. The water has an advantage over fire therefore the water overpowers the fire.

Exactly right! When Fire and Water collide of the same rank, the Water will continue forward, albeit weakened. But one thing to note about using them together is that if they either collide of equal strength (C-Rank Water, B-Rank Fire) or work together, depending on how you work with it, they can create either a boiling water which you throw at your target or create steam, which is incredibly effective if you can create a shroud around them which they'd burn from the steam you've created.

But just as a tip to remember:

C-Rank Fire < C-Rank Water
B-Rank Fire = C-Rank Water
A-Rank Fire > C-Rank Water

Basically the one thing to remember is that the weaker element has to be two ranks higher than the opposing element to overpower it. I've used Fire in this case even though we're learning Water, but the principle is the same. You'd need to use an A-Rank water to overcome a C-Rank earth jutsu. Of course, this applies to any element and it's weakness.

Any questions? If not, we'll continue.

(Suiton: Suishōha) - Water Style: Water Shock Wave
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid (Made short range of the user with a med range reach)
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Descripton: This technique allows the user after claping their hands together to make a spiralling vortex of water out of knowhere. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave. The user can also control the direction the wave goes with hand movements.

Consider this a... personal bookmark for myself so I know where to go in the long list for later purposes. :)

Right, so this is a pretty basic technique, you perform the needed hand seal which in this case is clapping your hands together which makes a spiralling vortex materialize out of nowhere which then explodes into a wave which you can control later on.

You shouldn't really need to perform this for me seeing as it's pretty straight forward and I personally dislike that style of training. But instead I will ask you to provide me with advantages and disadvantages to this technique, any you can think of. Additionally, I'd like for you to choose another technique you have knowledge of which can be from any training or rank you want (so long as you've learnt it), and come up with a combination using this technique.

Just one small thing, I don't accept anything half-assed. I'm not going to accept that it's a C-Rank Water technique as a disadvantage. Think outside the box, come up with something you don't think anyone else has come up with.

Advantages :

- This is a controllable wave of water.

- Covers a wide area.

- Doesn't require a water source.

- No handseals required.

Disadvantages:
(Can't really think of any)

- This technique is made short range of user, but goes to mid range.

Combos:

- I would bind my target into place first with a earth technique. Then hit them with my water shock wave.

- Or I could charge the water shock wave with this move:
(Raiton: Kangekiha) – Lightning Release: Wave of Inspiration
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 25
Damage point: 30 (normally) 50 (when used in conjunction with water technique)
Description: After using a Water Style technique, the user releases a wave of electricity that can electrocute any water within range, electrocuting and knocking back an opponent in contact with the water. When used without a water technique, its power is moderate. The technique can be used extremely quickly, so that it finishes almost in conjunction with the previous jutsu.

It's a simple technique, but has quite a lot of advantages to them. Just note that technically speaking, clapping your hands together would count as a hand seal for it, but it's nothing too intricate.

(Suiton: Ukojizai no Jutsu) - Water Style: Rain Tiger at Will Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra after waving the Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake hand seals. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

You perform the required hand seals, channeling your chakra into the skies which makes it rain. Sometimes it's best to have some sort of diversionary tactic when performing this technique, such as Hidden Mist or Clones in order to intercept them, as this takes a while to create the clouds to rain. This is also a type of sensing, with the rain being linked to your senses that if it lands on someone with a chakra source. For example you can sense where someone is if they have chakra flowing, but you can't sense someone if they don't have that effect. You wouldn't be able to sense someone with this technique who has the chakra suppression technique active, or a dead body since they wouldn't have chakra.

(Suiton: Suirou No Jutsu) - Water Style: Water Prison
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water by waving the Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare → Hands spread in front palms out. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Once trapped the target is unable to move while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself. Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water.

This was shown a few times, first in the beginning of the series when Zabuza used it against Kakashi, secondly in Part II where Kisame used it on Team Guy. You perform a long string of hand seals, finishing with your hands spread out in front of you touching. Think of this last one like a hand seal specific for this technique, similar to a lot of the Yamanaka clan techniques. You create a bubble which imprisons someone within, purely out of water. You have to keep your hand inside the prison at all times for it to remain stable, but it's a strong prison which because of the density of the water, they can't move.

(Suiton: Mizu Kawarimi) - Water Style: Water Replacement
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user can freely transform his body into liquid. This form allows him to avoid taking direct damage from many physical attacks but can not attack while in this form.

You use chakra to convert the molecules in your body to a watery substance, allowing you to avoid attacks. You have to reform though before you can do anything. Consider this to be a little similar to the Hozuki's Hydrification techniques. One thing to keep in mind though is that this technique counts as your single substitution for the match, so use it wisely. See how it says it's better for physical attacks; use it for them and not to avoid something like a Fire technique.

Next batch of techniques, I've explained how they all work just in case you don't understand a few of the more complex things. Same idea, I'd like for you to point out any and all of the advantages and disadvantages for these, with a minimum of three of each. Don't worry, it's just something to aim for so I won't be too strict on it. Also provide possible combinations like you did the first technique as well.

Advantages:

- This attack can cover an entire village.

- Gives me the ability to sense.

- Continues to rain until I stop it.

Disadvantages:

- Requires many handseals.

- A sensor could sense my chakra inside the rain.

Combos:

- After performing the Rain at Will, I can make many thunderbolts rain down onto my opponent.

Advantages:

- This traps my target in an inescapable water prison.

- The target is unable to move.

Disadvantages:

- Requires many handseals.

- My hand must stay inside the prison.

Combos:

- Perform this move to shock the target while inside the water prison.
(Raiton: Kangekiha) – Lightning Release: Wave of Inspiration
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 25
Damage point: 30 (normally) 50 (when used in conjunction with water technique)

When used without a water technique, its power is moderate. The technique can be used extremely quickly, so that it finishes almost in conjunction with the previous jutsu.

Advantages:

- I can avoid many physical attacks to my body.

-

Disadvantages:

- I can't attack while being in this form.

- Leaves me vunerable to attacks like Nagashi.

Combos:

- I would make my water clone become the water. I wouldnt want to be just a poodle of water that cant do anything.
