I think the manga is coming to an end soon. The Hiatus makes me think so even more... When you think about it, all that's left is for them to close the hole in the wall, open the basement, and deal with the giant ape titan, who is likely to be the "final boss".
Honestly, I would like it if it ended in the next 20 chapters, I'd take it any day over having it drag on unnecessarily.
And it would mean they could start working on second season of Anime right away.
