Final Fantasy Help

I just downloaded a PS2 emulator and would like to know which games I should play first in order to get into the series. It looks pretty fun and I'm hype for it. So if you could be so kind and tell me.

Get a ps1 and play 7. You will not regret it.

Edit. I never played any on ps2 so i cant comment on that.

Second Edit. You can buy 7 from the ps store for 5 bucks in the classics.

I'll try to see if 7 runs on my emulator. Also, are the stories new each time or is it ongoing shit where I need to play all the games?

As far as I know they are all different stories and characters, except 13 and 13 prt 2. But yah my bad I dont fux with emulators but if it works it works good luck man.

Different characters? I don't know much but I thought Tifa or whatever the hell her name is was in all the games.

I dont think so? and my main N**** Cloud Strife is the main character, Tifa is his women. Cant forget Sephiroth he is the best video game villain of all time.

You guys seem so educated in the way of FF, about trying 10 first, or even 12, if not go for 14 which is an MMO ;D 7 is scrub tastic if you like cloud tumor arms.

All final fantasy are good except the Mmos
If you dont mind old graphics play 7,8
If not try 10 first and up.
Every final has a different story except for the sequels (ffx-2)

Only things that remain from a final to another are the chocobos , moogles and some other creatures

Each final fantasy game is a completely different game on it's own. Even the continuations like X-2 are games with different stories, fighting system, worlds, just the same characters from the original version.

Tifa is only in FF7 related things same with the other characters in that game.

Actually, FFVII and FFX/X-2 are linked because of Shinra. FFX-2 takes place maybe a hundred years before the events of FFVII. FFT, FFA, FFA2 and FXII are in the same world...

Most people don't like FF12, but I love it. It feels like an MMORPG, but it's not. My major flaw with it was the music and linear story path. You can't navigate the map, and Nobuo Uematsu didn't do the soundtrack. The characters are a little vanilla too (literally they are white washed looking), but I like Ashe and Balthier a lot. The side quests are a lot of fun. I spent so much time building the weapons and doing the bounty quests.
