As I unfortunately guessed it right, it seems that this filler arc about Obito during his days in Team Minato will continue and is not a 1-episode thing, intruding the storyline from further progressing and delaying my chances of ever seeing Gai vs Madara.

I don't see what the big deal is. We already know the manga ended so the anime will too. You can't blame them for squeezing as much out of this franchise as possible before it's over lol.
