Filler Ideas They Should Have Done Instead of the Really Bad Ones

1. Suigetsu & Sasuke hunt for swords - Basically this would be Suigetsu & Sasuke trying to find the 7 Swords of the Mist(Bar Samehada). I believe that a fight with Suigetsu and Chojuro to the death would have been very fitting considering Mangetsu Hozuki, Suigetsu's brother used the sword Chojuro is holding onto him for.

2. Special Jounin- Jounin Tournament - Basically a tournament hosted to give characters who never real got feats a chance to show everyone what they've got.

-Inochi Yamanaka

It would have went on for a few episodes really showing the overall picture of shinobi that didn't exactly get a huge shining.

3. Sasuke & Lee - Basically in part 1 after their altercation and before Lee loses his health to Gaara Sasuke would seek out Lee and ask for him to be his training partner temporaraly to get stronger(we all saw how jealous Sasuke was that Naruto beat Gaara). Sasuke's Taijutsu shows to improve but he throws out some variations as Sasuke was shown to do back then with Palgerine Falcon Drop and Lions Barrage.

Wouldn't this be consider canon material ? the part with suigetsu and the swordsmen is still relevant to the plot. Fillers are supposed to be a whole new story not an old story being developed

Extending fights would be good. Pretty much all of Kakuzu vs Team 10 and Kakashi was filler, and it was awesome.

This! I was dissapointed on how little we got to see about the members' past, especially Kisame.
It was kind of a rushed background story..
