It's Ronaldo's fault that Portugal got knocked out. He wasn't good enough to send Portugal through like Messi and Neymar. Argentina could of easily lost their two opening games but it was Messi that saved them and Ronaldo couldn't do the same for Portugal. The world's best player this year couldn't perform at the biggest stage and this just shows he needs really good players to play a long side him in order for him to perform. Now you can sulk Ronaldo. Portugal are nothing like before when they had players like Figo, Deco, Nuno Gomes, Maniche, etc.

Suarez gets a nine match penalty from fifa, and 4 months suspension from football related activities.
Also an 100000 swiss franc fine and he is during the time of his ban prohibited to enter any stadium in which Uruguay are playing.

Ban with loopholes from FIFA, he will surely appeal and during appeal will be allowed to play remaining world cup matches, and after world cup will miss nine meaningless friendlies and he might after appeal get it reduced to 2 months, I hope he isn't let off easy.

They should have made sure that during appeal he can't play in this world cup.

But this will affect Liverpool, and they might sell him if the price is right.
He will miss 9-12 EPL matches, Champions league matches and a few league cup matches.
He will join them on october 25.

Here is the statement:-

Here is the source:-

In my opinion that is unfair. The World Cup comes every 4 years and for him to miss out on the rest of the tournament with his kind of ability is just wrong. That would no doubt end Uruguay's chances of winning the World Cup. FIFA should of just banned Suarez for one entire season at his club team.

To be frank i dont like ronaldo but thats quite harsh, only him can not do the job alone he did his best despite having injury. Also the ban is completely fair there is no justification for biting another human being especially when this is not his first or second offense and lmao even with suarez did you really think Uruguay could win the world cup? Although i agree that suarez ban spells the end of their teams aspiration to go to the final, but this is football and you can never say never.

I sympathise with your view but this is the third time Suarez has committed such egregious offence, he needs to be punished and yes it will hurt Uruguay who are not at fault, but this is his third time and he is grown man and should have thought of the consequences, even children do. He humiliated his country and like thunderbolt said above probably this is good opportunity for Uruguay to test their strength and try to move on without Suarez which will be better, even with Suarez it would have been hard for them.
As for Liverpool, this will be harsh for them but they knew the risk.

Be motivated maybe Uruguay will be better without Suarez, will help them in long run.

Algeria 1-1 Russia
Belgium 1-0 Korea

Algeria are going through with already qualified Belgium.

You know that doesn't make any sense. You blame a single player for having an entire team knocked out, which in itself is wrong as an entire team should never be focused on one player. If that's the case, then you have a very big issue. That both Argentina and Brazil needed Messi and Neymar so much, isn't really helping their chances as from the moment those two have a bad day, their team is screwed. On top of that CR was pretty much the one who got them this far. CR didn't fail Portugal, Portugal failed CR.

For the record I'm not a CR fan. He's an amazing player, but I hate his personality.

I know that only he can not do the job but big players need to shine at the biggest stage which is the World Cup and he failed. Diego Maradona single handedly led his country to World Cup glory. If Ronaldo wants to cement his legacy as one of the greatest football players of all time he needs to win the World Cup with Portugal.

Urugauy are 2 time World Cup champions. They are first nation to ever win the World Cup. They are the one's who invented tactical foul. If Urugauy still had Suarez they would have a chance of winning the World Cup because Suarez is a world class striker and one of the best football players in the world today. They reached the semi-finals in 2010 and they had the best player in that World Cup, Deigo Forlan. It's sad to see that Forlan is past his best now but they still have great players like Cavani and Godin. This is a nation team that should not be underestimated because they are known to win games even if they play crap. Urugauy are a threat to any national team.

What Suarez did was bad but i still think it's unfair to ban him. Yes, Urugauy could still do good without him because they still have great players like Cavani, Forlan, and Godin. Forlan will now take Suarez's place i think. It's just about moving on now and forgetting about the past. Colombia wil be a huge test for them.

A single player depending on how good they are can no doubt make a difference to a team. Look at Maradona, Zidane, etc. World class players that won the World Cup for their national country. I agree that football should never be focused on one player because it's a sport that involves team work but special and world class players are the ones that make a huge difference to the team. It could maybe be that Portugal lack team work and that is why Ronaldo can't perform to the best of his ability. He did miss a clear goal scoring opportunity against Ghana.

I hope Liverpool will now sell him, but the problem his there are many teams who would disregard this fact and hire him just to win, I hope at least Barcelona and Real Madrid don't buy him.
Liverpool won't sell him unless and until Barca and Real are ready to pay a really large sum of money, because Rogers is pretty much interested in keeping him, and considering his recent behavior in world cup, I doubt if Real or Barca go for him. Jamie carraghar's article is an indication that money has become so much important in the football.Lol

Full Time
Brazil 1-1 Chile

Brazilians are playing deep, Chile are increasing in confidence, it seems we might see the first penalty shootout of this world cup.

Update- Now tie will be decided by penalty shootout.

Penalty shootout was more exciting than the whole match, and Brazil performed best during penalty shootout. Chile players were much more nervous during the shootout

And Brazil lives to see yet another day, though barely. No canary chili con carne today.

Damn what a match it was.......:bouncy:
It was like I was seating in roller coaster from the beginning.
-First Brazil started really well. That David Luiz goal, still I believe it was an own goal, or otherwise he was offside well whatever.
-Then Chile returned via that Sanchez goal, Brazilian defense was looking too miserable.
-And then in the dying moment of first half Brazil returned, had few chances but nothing happened.
-Finally in first few minutes of second half Chile midfield looked awesome. I don't whether it was red-bull effect, but there were almost on the way of sending Brazil home. I was screaming, take out Fernandinho.
-Then finally Fernandinho got substituted and Ramirez came in and Brazil made a comeback. Jo missed few chances, Hulk missed few as well.
-Finally chili had few corners during dying moment nothing happened.
-Extra time, first half was pretty much Brazil breaking through but failing, Chilean defense was holding them back.
-In second half though Brazil tried hard in first few minutes, until at the end Chile suddenly breakthrough and a shot hit the crossbar and then again a not so bad corner, with entire stadium silent, but somehow Brazil pull it through.
-And then them roller coaster penalty kicks with Julio Cesar, the man saving three penalties and Neymar chipped in to score last.
That was heroic work and narrow escape for Brazil and signal for other teams, 'facepalm' world cup isn't as simple as it looks.:leaf:
