My vote certainly goes to Germany, a good midfielder line up, not so bad forwards, I see defense as a weakness and I know that Mertesacker isn't the one he used 'to be', but I am expecting defensive line up to do better this time around.

Not exactly miracles, they have enough potential son.Lol
Mats Hummels, Boateng and Lahm aren't what I call 'bad defenders'. Mertisacker, well let's 'hope' that he will be able to perform well, and there is Schalke player Howedes as well.

Mertisacker has fitness troubles;Lahm and Hummels have a talent to perform well up to their mark.Remaining those defenders not a much but anything can happen FIFA.Lol

Germany is the team that is Packed with Powerful forward Strikers like Lukas,Klose,Goetze,Schuerrle,Mueller
It is a much of an attacking team than defence in my opinion.

Why 33 years old,Weidenfellar is in the team who has the experience of only 3 international caps??

While it's extremely difficult to predict the winner, imho final will be between Argentina and Germany.
Uruguay is another team to look for. As for the miracle of world cup I think an african or japan will qualify for the semi-finals.
It is very difficult for spain to win this this time but we never know.

You forgot about Jerome Boateng, I thing four defenders are enough to pull it through. I am just hoping Mertisacker to work on things, it is just icing of cake, but I can have cake without icing too you know.>_O

It doesn't matter, because he is perhaps one of the most experienced goalkeepers from Bundesliga, and still did amazing job for Borussia Dortmund even for his age. The first choice is obviously going to be Manuel Neuer and I think weidenfellar is going to sit on a bench for most of the tournament. About three caps it isn't surprising if you have top notch goalkeeper like Neuer.U_U

The teams that could surprise us are Chile, Colombia, and Bosnia. Those are my wild cards.

I'm rooting for my home country of course: Belgium.

We're already glad we finally made it again to the finals, however with the quality we have now and the group we are in, making it to the 16th finals is a must, no excuses. We have got the 6th most expensive team present on the WC, so not being able to finish 1st or 2nd in our group would be the same as Spain, Germany or Brasil failing to qualify for the knock-out stages.

We aren't cocky enough though to proclaim ourselves as a potential champion, however we don't have to fear any team either. We could be considered a very dark horse, but the same applies to Chile, Colombia and Japan who all brought some high-quality teams.

I remember the qualification matches against Belgium where they completely dominated us (Croatia) and I think that you have a very good team that is just at the beginning and will do very good, if not in this WC then surely in the upcoming EC and WC. However, I have to point out that Croatia did have a lot of trouble during the qualifications and I believe they are finally sorted out. With a new and amazing coach as well as one of the best mid lanes in the world (Rakitić-Modrić-Kovačić) I share the same viewpoint as you; failure to pass the group would be a huge disappointment. Everything after that would be an amazing accomplishment.

I'm not too interested in Football, and with the time schedule, I won't watch most matches anyway since they are set in the late evening/night.

I really hope Kovac kept his cards close to his chest. His coaching resume is not as great as I would've hoped, but with Kovac as coach, the team has a more positive vibe. Much better than Stimac, at least. ;-)

I hope the Modric-Rakitic-Kovacic secret-weapon-triangle functions well in the tournament.

Regardless, I have an eerie feeling concerning the Cameroon and Mexico games. Both teams are no push-overs, and those two games will be the vital ones for the next round, not the Brazil game (should we draw).
