See, now this information I can work with. People are flipping their shits over it not being turn-based combat anymore - and to that I say grow the f*ck up.
But this, this is a lot more debatable in terms of just how drastically this could potentially change the story. I'm curious to say the least how this plays out.
and its episodic because?
Apparently the data for the remake is huge and they have to split up and if they don't split it they would have to cut parts. Each part will have the content of a full game(translation=$60 per part lol). I think they did it because
1. They need to pump out the game and not take forever(which can lead to them pulling a FF15 and releasing it on the 9th gen consoles ex: KH3/FF15/FF Type 0 hd) like they usually do for a project this important/big. Did you notice how we already have quite a bit of good info about this game? Honestly, I was not expecting a gameplay trailer. It took FF13 Versus like to 2006-2010 for one.
2. They also need to milk the shit out of FF fans. What better way to do it than the all-hyped FF7 remake. Nomura was planning on giving FF15 sequels but the new director Tabata modified the story to not have that.
1. Bullshit. a bluray disk holds like 60gb dual layered, and on top of that the game is gonna get installed onto the system. Outside of milking the fans i see no reason for it to be episodic.
I was thinking the same thing but that is actually Square's reasoning
