1. Do I have to watch the first gundam series to understand what happens in zeta gundam?

2. I heard there's a remake for zeta gundam which were made into a few movies? How do the remakes stand compared to the original series?

1. Yes, after all its a direct sequel from the original, if you can stand Zeta animation then you'll be fine with the original Gundam since both was made back in the 80's/late 70's

2. yes there is but its pretty old

but as you see in the description it was a prequel of the 1st gundam series, its about the younger days of the "RED COMET" A K A The legendary Char Aznable.

Ohh Okay I see, well thanks man. What about the zeta gundam movie remakes? I know that there are remakes for the first gundam series but I also saw that zeta gundam got a remake as well. What's the difference between them and the original zeta gundam series? Aside from the new animations.

Surely its has superior animation, but the original is way better in every aspect but animation.
