Not all women are plus sized and plenty of them are fit and take care of themselves, so how can they be unrealistic?

My god that is pathetic. How weak minded do you have to be to develop an eating disorder from a game. Also I like how conveniently feminists ignore the unrealistic proportions of male characters.

And their 'realistic' portrayals were just a fat, nonathletic physique.

I think they are under the assumption that the vast majority of women are fat and fit women are almost nonexistent, which is ****ing stupid.

What she said was pretty accurate. The women who are "unrealistically" shaped are actually realistic. What they're doing would require them to be that shape. If anything (which she noted) they should go after what said woman wear, instead of weight size. These little nitpicking instances lower their credibility imo

Except that the last time I said made a comment about such clothing ( or rather lack of it) in media presentation and girls copying it thinking it makes them hip even when it's not safe and damn inconvenient at times- I was told it was **** shaming and I do not know about feminism if I don't support it- he wasn't even trolling.

BF's dead body is just lying on one side when she gets saved being raped by the guy and as soon as she does, she is at the disposal of the lead character. Congrats we have a real winner in this! Not that I care for either. Just don't pretend it's not objectification.

Second para was a general comment meant for those who deny the sexist objectification in video games and think it's just about slim women. I would link the video game I described to make the context clear but it doesn't fit with NB policy to link that kind of graphic portrayal.

They also have to realize that Video Games are fiction, so for the most part, they are not realistic in the first place.

Or was the description originally used as one of the in supportive arguments as to why such art falls in sexual objectification and eating disorder just one of the many possible side effects?

If you're so narrow-minded as to entitle this thread "Feminists...," then you suffer from a delusional misunderstanding of what feminism is. :lol

Feminism: the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.

The basic idea behind feminism is that we're all human and are therefore entitled basis human rights regardless of our gender.

I don't think this qualifies as a feminist issue. This is more an issue of media portrayal of women and of body shaming. Of course, I do agree that it makes sense for these women to be fit and it would be a much better argument, perhaps, to focus on how women are sexualized via costuming in video games. And to be honest, I think equally "unrealistic" standards are set for men in video games. You can't look me in the eye and tell me that the average man looks like Snake.

And for all of you bastards up above who called those modifications "fat" or "nonathletic," please get a better perspective on body type. :lol Some people will exercise all their lives and never achieve a perfect body. We are all built differently, and hell, we all accept different standards of beauty. So please put your ****ing foot in your mouth before you offend somebody. It's not video games that make girls get eating disorders, it's ****s like you who throw out insults about shape and size with utter disregard for women's feelings.

Given Jade, Lara, other female characters' activities like combat and climbing and raiding tombs, I think it would be safe to say that the physique is the result of their activities. While I respect Women and believe both Men and Women should be loved and respected equally, I hate the word "feminists". I dunno, I guess it is a word that is sort of working opposite to what is suggested. I just feel that by creating a word that is specifically designed to keep people together is causing more divisions and enmity because there are people in society who compare the word "Feminist" with another word like "Nazi".
