No surprise Madara gets to stay! What's crazy about this was the way he did it. He apparently knows the steals to release the edo's contract with the summoner, and now hes free! Makes me wonder when Orochimaru first used the edo tensei to summon the first and 2nd hokage, why didn't the 2nd hokage used this release method as well? He is the creator of the justu and such. I know at the time he was fully controlled, but there were movements when he wasn't.

Even I was thinking the same. Yes, It is a huge contradiction that Kishi made.

Maybe Kishi forgot about his earlier written chapters. Thats why I believe this is Kishi's biggest troll. LOL

The only reason madara released himself is because he is a "villain". villains dont R.I.P. if given a change they'll come back and continue being villans because thats what villains do

I'm pretty sure LOADS of other ninja/hokages and specially the second know the releasing seals but if they Resting In Peace. why come back. specially hokages with all their morals and shit.

2nd Hokage was sealed by the 3rd hokage, so that might be why. Also, the 2nd might decide that being an all powerful immortal is morally wrong

What will be very interesting will be to see whether Madara still has the same invulnerability as he had. If he's not under Edo control anymore, maybe he will be mortal and more able to be injured and killed. Or, maybe his chakra will no longer be infinite and he will have to conserve it. It is very interesting to think about what will happen next.

What will be very interesting will be to see whether Madara still has the same invulnerability as he had. Madara seems confident than an Edo that escapes control by ending the summoning contract will still have unlimited chakra and an undying body.
